Quad if yours is listed as shipped, By...3pm today I bet you will get it tomorrow. So you have not got a tracking number yet? Ive had two overnight shipments of the m17x. May be able to offer insight.

Yeah no tracking info yet . but i know fed ex overnight gos to a different department and gets put on a airplane not ground . so thats why im remaining hopeful . They work 7 days a week 24/7 as well.

Wednsday at the latest i would have to say but more like tuesday ill bet.

some news - my order has now been in production for 3 days.

one part of the order, the TV Tuner apparently, has already left the factory and is en route.

My order is being expedited yay!!!

 

Guys, should i order the system with T9600 + 280ms or Qx9300 + 260ms??

btw, what and how much is the different between the T9600 and the Q9000?

P/s: I saw the red color is available on the order website, but it's $99 extra :-/, not worth the money imo.

 

I went with the T9600 and dual 280's because that seemed like the better setup for me, as none of the games I play take advantage of the multi-core.

games are gonna be bottlenecked by your GPU's not a 3.33 ghz CPU

No video camera here and my Iphone is the 3g not the S with the video camera on it (thats my next upgrade) .

Biscuits machine will probably arrive tomorrow since he had 2 day from fedex.

So i pay more for shipping and get the same delivery time .

Biscuits sounds like hes worried to no end putting in that CPU and wants to do video conference with someone to help .

Mandrakes guide is more the enough though and ill actually be using it instead of the Service manual .

For the gang that just moved to "shipping" in the last couple of days the FedEx tracking numbers are online now....

Mine shows they have the info but have not picked up yet.

edit: the Dell site had the tracking number sooner but FedEx did not know it yet. Now you can start tracking through the FedEx system....

 

Mine is on its way from Tennessee last i looked .

 

What config do you have?? How are you getting your order in 2 weeks from order??

 

Quadzilla, you're ahead of me. It shows they just got my request to pick up the order at 4:03 this morning.

Now my problem is they are estimating delivery Wednesday. I am supposed to be in court Wednesday. Hmmmmmm....put a criminal away or get my laptop?!

Seriously will FedEx let me pick it up at a distribution center or at least try to deliver again the next day? I don't deal with them. I know UPS will give you like 3 chances before they send it back.....

 

yes fedex will should try 3 times for delivery until it is sent back, they are also supposed to leave a card on your door so you can release it to be dropped off at a neighbors or behind your house etc, etc. you can also say you want to pick it up from their depot instead too.

 

Cant get anyone to be at your place till the shipment arrives ?.

At the end of the day actually the package usually gets taken back to the depot and you can go pick it up with proper ID etc. I have done this in the past on numerous occasions .

 

man, that's way too quick . Happy for you! DELL saying mine to be shipped by 8/14/09, phone tracking is 8/10....
got to be a the lower res screen. The CSR mentioned that the system running 2 weeks to built but the screen adds another week...

I think Biscuits will be doing a 4 hour presentation/unboxing on the M17x from the sound of it lol.

I dont have a camera here so no unboxing for me lol.

 

I don't know if I'll do a full video unboxing, but I'll def do nice pics of the RED chassis

This is madness, I ordered a very similar configuration before you (7-9), and so far I am still in boxing with an estimated ship date of 8-6.

Yeah mine left at the same time Biscuits but it says tomorrow according to the Fedex tracking info. Its all good though .

 

It'll ship well before that if you're in boxing.

anyway I will be very thorough with a review and such although sweet and simple for the most part (I think Moo's is getting a little lengthy he keeps adding lol) and I will do a video review as well... my boxing video will be about 10 min becuase I am doing the unboxing and a look at my entire setup for NBR (mouse, Novint falcon, speakers, headphones etc.)

EDIT: Mandrake I was wonder if you are willing to help me with the cpu install a bit more then the guide... or just be there for technical and Moral support LOL! now that it is almost here I am losing some doubt in my abilities lol.... I've never touched a laptops CPU

 

How about doing it while your online here? That way you'll have myself, Quad and others to help. Similar to what Moo did when he was flashing his 260. If you want to do something like an IM then Fridays I have more availability.

 

But I might get it tomorrow lol... anyway I am actually a very visual person, maybe if I posted picures though lol... I was thinking it would have been cool to have done a multi webcam feed and if I needed help you guys could actually point it out, or see if I was doing something wrong

 

I work everyday but Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I can only check in from time to time the rest of the week.

Besides you plan on tearing it open the first day? I know I did but I figured you'd be busy doing videos and getting used to the system.

Your going to be removing some screws and putting a CPU in , not performing brain surgery here.

Dont doubt your ability to do anything as that will hurt you in the long run.

You said your into sports or things like martial arts ? do you doubt your ability then when stepping up to the mat ?

You will be fine and we will be here to help with any questions .

Mandrake though is the man when it comes to this machine since he can do it blindfolded.

The best piece of advice I can give is if you start to get frustrated take a 5 minute break before you continue.

Yup for sure... I mean why not too it is kinda fun to work on stuff, and video chat is much more useful than a couple of pictures...

BTW my shipping says Fedex express, so it's by air so I should get at the same time as Quad
