    just called dell they said my order def wont ship today but i will have a tracking number LATEST friday so for any1 whos comps EDD is aug. 10th or around that im guessing were all on the same boat with this

    I have a tracking number but according to FedEx it hasn't been picked up yet (24 hrs later). I'm hoping there is just a delay in tracking messages, because I want my M17x on a truck and headed to me! ;)

    Another day or two isn't going to make a big difference either way, but now that I know it's in the shipping status it's the waiting game :D

    Quick question here.

    Someone checked the status of their M17x via the automated system on the first page and it says that it is expected to ship on July 30, 2009 (tomorrow). However it says it is in the "build" stage. Also the rep said that some parts are in back order.

    Anyone run into this before? The automated system, from my experience at least, seems to be always either on time, or too pessimistic, never this optimistic.

    i called to check my status....the automated lined only told me boxing...i talked to a rep who only told me In Production. im not even getting ESD or EDD anymore....

    went to bed at 9pm last night (of course, i had to wake up twice) and left work 30mins early this morning (got here at 5:30am) and now only have a 1-5hr wait left :)

    they're delivering it to my main office address, which is luckily just across the road from the client i'm allocated to - exec. assistant is going to email me as soon as it gets it.

    am totally keen here...totally!!!!!! err..hang on, going to bed early AND driving off to work at a stupid time of day doesn't make it arrive here any earlier!!!! urggghhh @ WaitFail!!!

    So mine should get here on the 21 (or so the EDD says). College starts on the 24.... somewhere in those few days im going to have to move to a different town... but I can't until I get my laptop at my OLD address... lol. So I will be getting it, but wont have much time to use it for a few days. Hope it gets here early. by the way, do i have to sign for it? hope im home that day...

    Yeah, you have to sign for it. Although I read of at least one guy that had his computer left outside by FedEx without a signature. Not the norm though.

    Also, Dell typically delivers well before the EDD. Average I think it's about 2 weeks.

    i dont think they do weekends normally (i think they will if you have overnight service)

    and if you arent there to sign for the package, they leave a slip. you can sign the slip and leave directions on where leave the package. or you can go to the fed ex office and pick it up there.

    for those who didnt see that there are new versions for synaptics touchpad and more importannt the nvidia chipset. the previous version of the chipset was compatible with sp1 only. the new seems to be for sp2. i think this was the reason for my unknown acpi device. now everything nice and recognized.
