For US, you can get stackable discounts (Student = 10%) , (DPA = 3%) , (EPP = $50) for the m11x. If you guys have any other discounts applicable to this laptop, please post!

Ohh i just realized I'm due to get one of those $100 off any EPP system coupons that I get about once a month that expire after two days.... gonna hold out for that and stack it with 7% off EPP, 3% off DPA, $50 off for the subscription.... hehe.

wow... the config I'm eyeballing is 919.... that would put me around $675 :D

This is pretty entertaining, refreshing the configuration page every hour and just now they removed the 'Sample image only' picture from the 'System color' option. Official release is closing in :D

Lol it could be,I'm not sure what it is or maybe they just gave the wrong price at the start but when the link to the UK order site was released,I 'built' my M11x to check out the price and saved it in the basket.

Woke up this morning,it was gone and when I built it again with the exact same spec it was more expensive :S Ah well,it's ordered,I'm content for now. XD

Really? I'm not seeing that at all...in fact, I'm seeing a starting price of $899 where I am, which happens to be in Canada, on the Canadian link! I'd love to know how to get it down to 699 to begin with. I did see something about Microsoft Office, but currently there doesn't seem to be a "subtract" option.

Overall, while I'm still very interested in getting one of these as my school machine/occasional gamer, I'm really, really, really disappointed by the prices. On the Canadian site, my configuration came out to $1,499, and (unless I'm forgetting something), I only upgraded the CPU (which, at a $100 cost, is an absolute JOKE), RAM (because the desktop I'm currently using, which is far more powerful than the M11x, starts to chug in PS CS4 on larger files, and that's got 4 gigs), and the hard-drive. It's not horrible, but it's hardly the deal that it was made out to be by Dell/Alienware, who were hinting very heavily that this would max out at $1K. I'm afraid I'll still probably get one, but I'll be waiting for the reviews, and even if those are solid I still might hold out for a refresh. As much as I would love to put my tired old G1 out to pasture, I think it can hold out for a bit longer since this isn't the best value right now, even if it does meet my needs more than most other machines out there. Not quite the marketing coup that this could have been for them...

Yeah, on the alien command center you can change the color of every part thats illuminated on your computer... same with wallpaper and with "avatar" which is just the windows picture I think...

Just select everything default and you can change it when it arrives...

    cheers

The 330 is inferior to the 335. 70++ shaders vs 30++. The numbers tell it all.

Only reason if it gets delayed is if US market order too many and cause parts issue.

When the UK link to Pre-Order the M11x was given in this thread,I 'built' my M11x how I wanted it,saved it in the basket so that in the morning before mom went to work I could just make her put her details in.

Woke up this morning, item was gone from basket and for the exact same build,it cost around near £200 more... :(

Reckon the 256GB SSD will see a noticable improvement in Gaming performance over the 500GB 7200RPM HD? Lets consider here that money is no object.

it's going to help a bunch with load times, but if you have 4GB+ of RAM then you wont have any swapping going on so it wont make a difference IN game.

I really want to order the SSD, but i think I'm going to get a the 250gb 7200rpm and wait a bit for costs to lower a bit more (or a good sale).

I never get beyond 100ish GB of data on my drives anyways, everything is stored on my Windows Home Server.
