And yes, WAR, the thread has exploded. XP everyone's ordering.. except us Malaysians... T_T

For US, you can get stackable discounts (Student = 10%) , (DPA = 3%) , (EPP = $50) for the m11x. If you guys have any other discounts applicable to this laptop, please post!

Ohh i just realized I'm due to get one of those $100 off any EPP system coupons that I get about once a month that expire after two days.... gonna hold out for that and stack it with 7% off EPP, 3% off DPA, $50 off for the subscription.... hehe.
wow... the config I'm eyeballing is 919.... that would put me around $675 -
Wondering why they don't have the option for i3 or 15 processor....it wouldd be perfect with those processor, though battery life will be decreased...
-
-
Is that 10% EPP for being a student?
-
No my company gets 7% and if you use DPA you get another 3%

*lurker jumping in*
This is pretty entertaining, refreshing the configuration page every hour and just now they removed the 'Sample image only' picture from the 'System color' option. Official release is closing in -

Anyone ordered from Canada? I'm sure there wasn't an option for bluetooth on there. I assumed it came with it?

What's funny is, if you click on the picture on the right side of the configuration page, it takes you to the M15x page.

Wonders why Asia Pac has to wait.

Due to what I have seen in Dell USA, it is DDR3 800Mhz -

what a surprise, and y'all were so hopeful and acting like i was an idiot for being so "pessimistic"

Overall, while I'm still very interested in getting one of these as my school machine/occasional gamer, I'm really, really, really disappointed by the prices. On the Canadian site, my configuration came out to $1,499, and (unless I'm forgetting something), I only upgraded the CPU (which, at a $100 cost, is an absolute JOKE), RAM (because the desktop I'm currently using, which is far more powerful than the M11x, starts to chug in PS CS4 on larger files, and that's got 4 gigs), and the hard-drive. It's not horrible, but it's hardly the deal that it was made out to be by Dell/Alienware, who were hinting very heavily that this would max out at $1K. I'm afraid I'll still probably get one, but I'll be waiting for the reviews, and even if those are solid I still might hold out for a refresh. As much as I would love to put my tired old G1 out to pasture, I think it can hold out for a bit longer since this isn't the best value right now, even if it does meet my needs more than most other machines out there. Not quite the marketing coup that this could have been for them... -
Nice to be an optimist, plus writing him off before givin the guy a chance wasn't very fair even if he did seem shady the first time around.
-
Can anyone comment on the GT330M vs the GT335M the M11X has?
-
Hey, just about to preorder but a little stuck at the Alien FX part. Is the Avatar, wallparper and FX colour sometihng you can change at any time during the products lifetime?
Really appreciate the help -
Just select everything default and you can change it when it arrives...
cheers -
-
Omg I Go To Sleep And Wake Up And The Price Has Gone Up By £200 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
-
I'm not sure what changed,I'm kinda gutted but I still went ahead and got it anyway.
-
Nuke737 it will be available end of this week.
Only reason if it gets delayed is if US market order too many and cause parts issue. -
Eggs Scrambled Notebook Evangelist
is this the europe website or something? I just ordered and it was $819 total for the basic specs + bluetooth, which is what it was at 4:37 when it went on sale
-
the base model is now what i was going to pay for it pimpted out!
whole knew meaning to an expensive sleep ! -
-
Woke up this morning, item was gone from basket and for the exact same build,it cost around near £200 more... -
-
Wow, glad to know Dell is handling this MASSIVE opportunity so well. I can't imagine my Canadian order getting any cheaper.
-
@Halo = Okay man, I trust ya. Must... Order... "faints"
-
the hard drive is standard 2.5 sata right? so i can just take the current one out of my laptop and put it in..
also is that $50 off coupon for epp working for anyone...i entered it at the order page but it didnt apply the discount -
-
Well I caved in; and ordered it.
I will be returning the Sony CW I ordered. -
Reckon the 256GB SSD will see a noticable improvement in Gaming performance over the 500GB 7200RPM HD? Lets consider here that money is no object.
-
IMO, it might help a bit. But I wouldn't know for sure the numbers involved (eg: percentages)
-
-
it's going to help a bunch with load times, but if you have 4GB+ of RAM then you wont have any swapping going on so it wont make a difference IN game.
I really want to order the SSD, but i think I'm going to get a the 250gb 7200rpm and wait a bit for costs to lower a bit more (or a good sale).
I never get beyond 100ish GB of data on my drives anyways, everything is stored on my Windows Home Server.
