It's better. It's basically a QX9300 at 2.4Ghz instead of 2.53Ghz but never officially released.

£180 (~$280) vs 330 (~$550) Q9200 ES vs QX9300 though. Not really worth the extra money for the QX9300 if you have no qualms with QS/ES processors. Especially given overclocking on both chips has some winners and some losers, the QX9300 potentially will overclock further, but then to be honest nothing is guaranteed, some 9200s seem to be hitting the 3Ghz barrier, and if you're a non clocker, unless you need every ounce of speed, then it's a no brainer!
If only my M980Nu was multi unlocked! -
This is back down to $502. I think I am pulling the trigger!

QX9300 for $750
I know it's a deal at this price since HP jacked up the price on their site.
Another route is to order a m17x-R1 from Dell Outlet which they are given a %20% off via phone order.
I have seen one with Dual 280s , QX9300 and other good stuff, after the 20% before tax was $1800.00. Of course that laptop is gone since Outlet selections goes pretty quick.
FYI.... 20% off on Alienware ends on the 8th , which is 2 more days -
the day i finally get around to upgrading to a QX9300 they jack up the price, lame =[
-
To be honest I had the T9600 OCed @ 3.41 and it was fine for my needs. I kinda regretted buying the QX9300...
-
I will have one for sale once I get my replacement R2.. I will not have any need for it anymore..
