perfect. This is way better than dealing with Ebay. I hope this will still be around in December, I have to wait until then to order it
-
I am curious about something on this: I am thinking about getting this for my M17X but I also have the Complete Care warranty until 1/13/2013. If anything happens to my computer in the future, i really don't want to have to swap processors out for warranty purposes. Is there a way to buy the processor from HP and then have it covered by my complete care?
Maybe have Alienware Techs install it? I don't know... thoughts? -

I just received my QX9300. What does it suppose to come with? I got the QX9300, thermal paster in a syringe, and some cleaning pad.
-
Enjoy the new processor, its a nice one. Also, if you happen to use Arctic Cooling MX-3 compound, forget about spreading it. After several attempts to spread it properly I hit up Arctic Cooling's support team and their response for the mobile processors was to apply a small blob in the center and allow the pressure of the heatsink to spread it. I was a bit hesitant at first, but it worked out fine. Temps are lower than any I have ever recorded. Have fun! -

FYI ..... QX9300 price have gone up on DECTRADER.COM to $950.00. It was $474.00. Yikes
I don't know if HP will be upping their price too. My suggestion is, if you are going to buy this CPU, You should jump on it now !!!Get it from HP.

Ya I noticed the Dectrader price bump
Hope HP doesn't figure it out so that you all can take advantage of this -
-
still need to thank Brah about signaling me Dectrader. Thanks brah! -
I found a great processor deal there, I just want to make sure.
I will be very happy if anyone can comment on this...
Thanks -
decatrader is fine

I am buying a t9900 for $460,isn't that a little too cheap? a new one!
-
T9900 is $340 from HP.
-
Why is it so expensive on ebay and google checkout.
Thank you!
You know what will be epic?
If you could send me a link to HP parts...
I can use this on my asus g50 right? it doesn'thave to be HP...
Thanks a million, you saved me a lot! -
The real question is why is HP so cheap.
Go to partsurfer.hp.com and search for 570434-001. I currently have my T9900 running in my M17x. Awesome proc! -
You are just my hero.
Left a rep for you.
You are so right, HP is soooo cheap.
I loves my ASUS. -
You'll be very happy with that proc. I can run mine at 3.5Ghz and it stays cool in both my systems.
-
Thank you Mandrake, my asus g50's bottleneck is the processor.2.13 is not fast enough, to be honest with you, asus will automatically clock it up 3.3 with direct console, I love my laptop, this is the best upgrade i will ever have in my life.
The processor is on its way, I am expecting my 3dmarks06 go like, 10000
thanks again.
Note:it was $380 with shipping expedited and tax 7% nC. -
Mandrake... you think a T9900 would be a good upgrade for a T9600?
And whats the difference between an X9100 and a T9900? I would have thought its best to go for the X9100 for the unlocked multiplier..
ever mind, 44w vs 35w. Thats a big difference in heat. -
I've owned both the x9100 and T9900 and when I had the x9100 whenever I changed the multi it became unstable so my T9900 has been a much better proc. The T9900 is faster, cooler and saves more battery life than the T9600. Don't know if those gains are significant enough to justify the upgrade.
-
x9100 is a heater compared to the t9900
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
the x9100 would have done so much better if there was an OEM E0 version....only an ES, the OEM is C0 for some crazy reason
-
How long will the T9900 stand up against he I7 counterparts in the long run?
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
not very....it is a dual core, so 2 threads vs 8. And that is with turbo boost being pretty awesome at making the i7's an all in one chip. You get a quad that can also be a fast dual when it needs to be
-
You can still game on the original core-duo, it's the gpu that gets phased out faster.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
but as more and more games are just console ports which are heavily CPU dependent, the CPU cannot be ignored
-
So a T9900 in the M17x would be good for a couple years over the I7 M15x?
-
Honestly it depends on the game and how dependent it is on the CPU power and whether or not it can take advantage of SLI/Crossfire. Because of the dual GPU setup the M17x is consider the better gaming system.
-
Sac, go with dual GPU over CPU. I know I am weighing in late on this one, but an M17x with Crossfire/SLi and a 9900 will still outperform the M15x in the long haul.
The other question would be, is it just having the newest cpu that is important to you? -
I can't get the one from the HP site they don't ship to Canada
I just saw one on e-bay for $539.00 I think this is the right one but before I consider to buy it I would like some opinions
Thanks here is the link:

you are really better off arranging something with someone here in the US to get one from HP and ship it to you. That ebay one is an ES, not the same as the OEMs - and voids warranties if manufacturer finds out. Does your BIOS even support quads? Only heard of people putting duals in those gateways
-
sure it would be nice if someone here would get it for me at HP I would even be happy to throw in couple extra bucks -

Yeah I was looking into it before I got my Q9200, I decided to keep my Q9200 though, as it only cost me 240.00 CAD and it could pull off a decent 2.66ghz 24/7, I didn't need more than that, so decided to save my cash. But despite being more expensive than HP.com. HP.ca is the next cheapest place I could find and is still a very good deal being OEM and all.
-
Found it $687.70 -

I just got the CPU this morning sure fast shipping! one thing now that I'm not too sure ti came with a small syringe with the paste inside to apply on top the CPU it says for an Intel CPU to pot all of the syringe that it's about a quarter full and it is from Microsi I'm not familiar with that company
http://www.microsi.com/packaging/thermal_grease.htm
I got quite bit of 24 Carat Diamond Extreme Performance Thermal Compound that I used for the Gateway 3.6 GHz Extreme CPU and it dropped the temperature quite bit from what it was there before
So I'm not too sure which one it's better
Any suggestion ????? -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
use the diamond stuff, that is just HP supplying something so you don't install it with no compound
-
-

The Q9200 ES are unlocked multi too and about £180. If you're not gonna clock (some clock well others dont) they have the same cache and are 2.4Ghz...might be worth considering.
-
cheers alex bud i was looking and was offerd 1 from skook but i was looking and all i can see is that q9200 only get to 2.9 and i was hoping for the same clock as t9900 or x9100 @3.05 .... but illl see after christmas is out the way and how many pennies i got left
-
who's interested in my Q9200 might gonna trade for a X9100 es LOL
