well here is a picture of the beauty
Mandrake, would you mind taking a picture of yours and posting, I want to see if they are indeed the same batch (or just post the batch number, is the number on top second row on the left) -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i like the picture but it my hands would be better. i'm on a res of 1280*800 so being shipped to me would be the best way for me to see what's up with it.

hmmm, I see they are different batches.....hope I got same as mandrake! lol
-
I just pulled the trigger as well. We'll see if it ships. Pic of course upon arrival. Hmmmm... now what to do with the T9800? It'll probably sit in the closet in case I ever need it.
-

mandrake your post wasn't the most informative...care to elaborate? I am particularly interested in the batch number haha
-
I'm running OCCT in the background against my proc(finally testing stability) for about 15 minutes now @ 3.2Ghz, uploading this pic and posting this message....in otherwords everything is solid. Gonna test higher speeds now.

Mine wont be here till monday :-( So no time to put it in until that weekend.. grrr. I was hoping I would have it tomorrow
-
If I put mine any higher than 2.93 I get a bluescreen, I'm happy with that though!
-
I'm stable up to 3.25 so far. I can run benchmarks up to 3.35.
-
I really hope i can get that. I will be uber happy if I get the same results Mandrak. *crosses fingers*
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Well bummer, I got different batch than you did mandrake
(maybe I will still be ok haha)
Jubal, you however got the same batch as he did, so hopefully you can pull off some sick overclocks as well! -
I really need a better camera. I need a good point and shoot. Different forum I guess.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
haha. Your picture would be better if you just used macro settings...allows you to zoom at a close range MUCH better
-
My camera is actually a camcorder. bought it to take vids of the kids but my wife wants an easy to use point and shoot that can do video and has at least 10 megapixels. Such a thing exist?
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
ya, they are decently common now a days and good price.
I have a Sony 7.2 MP point and shoot I paid $200 for 3 years ago. For the same price you can get a 10 MP or around there now. If you can bump to the 350-400 range, you can get a very nice point and shoot. And all point and shoots today have video, although they will not record at the full resolution (this is normal practice) -
My wife does like Sony products since everything else she uses is Sony and they work well together. I'll have to see what they offer.
-

happy shopping
(although I will warn that the sony point and shoot does have a a noticeable processing time between taking pictures - this really annoys some people, I never really cared)
edit: that is with mine though, old model, new ones may be faster - I got a DSC-W55 for the record -
Now that I have the chip, any idea where I can get the sticker? I'd like to put it over top of my core 2 duo sticker
-
I got one from ebay. I put it next to the existing sticker.
-
All the cool kids seem to have one of these. It's getting harder to not pull the trigger here...
Is there any particularly good reason on why I shouldn't get this? -
If you can live with that downside, I'd say it's a great deal! -
You are definitely not helping. I hate stickers on my laptops with passion.
-
That is why I haven't got one. Besides, it seems that the dual core chips are oc'ing to near X9100 levels so it's all about price/performance! -
I don't like them as front side decoration, especially not on the M17x but I think they are okay on the bottom where all the Windows and Intel stuff goes
As far as this particular deal, I'd say if you have the cash, get it while it's hot, it's not going to last forever. -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
guess I will need to order a core 2 extreme sticker for mine.....the core 2 quad wont cut it
-
If you sell it let me know how much.... -

I am going to have to hold onto it for warranty purposes, don't think Dell will be happy about an HP purchased CPU in their machine if I have to send it back in haha
-
Nah... Dell doesn't care.
I had my 1730 frankensteined with all different parts. You don't send it to Dell anyway, it gets serviced at the house (or, in my case, I do my own and have Dell send the parts to me).
I'd say at least 40% why I always come back to Dell lappies is the warranty -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I am extremely comforted by the warranty they offer, coming from a whitebook where every BIOS flash and upgrade was russian roulette!
-
woot my qx9300 was delivered today!!!!! Have to wait till this weekend to install it.
-
well my batch number is diff.. i anticipated that it would be.

I just saw a bunch of QX9300 on EBAY that are selling for $545 and $550. Do you think these are legit? I calculated the amount to buy it from HP. They charge 502.55 plus tax (in NJ its about8%) plus 11.25 shipping so it comes out to around the same price.
-
Those on ebay are all ES samples. No warranty or support (if there is a problem which there usually isn't with cpu's).
I would get the OEM from HP waaaay before I'd pay the same for a ES.... -
Yeah not in the same ballpark. Questionable ES procs vs an OEM proc coming from a big pc manufacturer.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
well installed my OEM, god dam that is not fun....these could have been more user serviceable, I miss that on my whitebook now...haha
But, it works
No time to OC right now, but stay tuned
