sort of an off topic question...

    but is BIGX333...Mr. Bicep?

I was looking over the m17x videos, and noticed that this one: [click me]
    was uploaded by BIGX333...

    I'm scared

    OMG!

Hopefully he just uploaded the video or has nothing to do with him. Otherwise we might just have to create a side topic full of ridicule. ;)

Exactly... With divisors is possible :p .

Need to be tested :p .

Can you give me more details about your settings?, still trying 1:2 or you r using other divisors ?, what the settings of your max stable clock? (ram/divisor/cpu ?).

    Hell no! :D

I just found it on facebook and uploaded it on youtube to post it here lol. I'm not Mr. Bicep (thankz god lol) :D .

1:2 is the most stable, can't get 1:1 unless I could get my FSB up to 1600 (not gonna happen). As I said before I can change my timings just not the CL. I'll post a pic in a little bit.

    Edit: Clock changing options

    What FSB/MULT u r trying ?

8:14 is a bit tricky but as you can change MULT you can try to use 5:8 which would be just stable as 1:2 .

You can try 1333 FSB with 10.5/10 mult (u r running at 3.4 right?)... Your ram you will be at 1066 using 5:8 divisor.

Or you can lower your ram to 1000 to use 3:5.

The problem was raising the 1066 memory to 1200 trying to keep a 1:2 ratio.

From Mr. Moo's review, the reason why 1333 and 1066 are different (not necessarily better). I'm going to test this with my HyperX memory when I get home tonight.

I have 1333MHz RAM (there was no 1066MHz option in Europe when I ordered). However, if I run it at 1333MHz with the 9400 on-board video card enabled, it boots to windows but the display becomes dark once in Windows. If I disable it I can run perfectly Prime stable with just the 280Ms in SLI and the memory at 1333MHz. But when I enable the 9400, be it in hybrid or single mode, I have to downclock the RAM to 1066MHz. Looks like the 9400M doesn't like high RAM speeds.
The CL7@1066MHz seems to be slightly faster in games than the CL9@1333MHz anyway.

Hey mandrake, the Kingston Hyper X is able to run at 1066 at 5 - 5 - 5 - 15, and the M17x bios can manually adjust ram clock speeds, have you tried running locked 1066 at 5 - 5 - 5 - 15 yet, and also, have you tried, setting it to 5 - 5 - 5 - 15, manually and then over clocking the ram, and try and get to 1333 7 - 7 - 7 - 20 or something similar?

The Bios does not support changing the timings only the fsb of the memory. If I bring it down to 800 the CAS will show up as 6.

Weird, I was positive the M17x's mobo allowed for manual manipulation of the individual memory timings. Guess I wont be wasting 100$+ on the hyper X. lol

The only point I am making is that running the 1066 memory at 1333 shows up with a CAS of 11.

Your latency will be smaller but your frequency will be slower.

Just like i said before... That's probably because 1066 don't have SPD for 1333 and bios use the higher CL available.

    BTW... I never said that running 1066 @ 1333 is a good idea :p

I agree. Also wondering if the memory chip is flashed with a new SPD we could get better timings at both 1066 and 1333. If that is done will the system still be stable? I'm willing to be a guinea pig if I could find the right program to do it.

If you flash it with a lower CL it can become unstable but you can just keep the 800MHZ timings unchanged and if something go wrong just boot at 800mhz and flash again :p

    No.

IMHO the problem with 1066 is that ppl gonna let the M17x choose the divisor and bad divisors = goodbye stability.

But nothing that a little of math can't solve :p
