I'll look around to see if I see anything like that.

that's...an amazingly interesting find...
its hidden, you guys say? -
One other thing I don't know if it's been mentioned. If you set bad OC settings you don't have to reset your whole bios (pulling cmos chip). Removing the system battery and booting up directly off of AC will reset the OC settings but keep everything else.

I tried all the old tricks so far like the Alt-F1-12 keys while in the bios and Ctrl-F1-12 keys to see if it would open the hidden options but nada. It could be at the time when your supposed to hit the F2 key that you need to hit the right combo for it to open up any additional options.
-
I started looking closer at the bios because I noticed this when disabling the splash screen
It shows you the memory timings and it makes me think this is edit-able. -
Yeah i have mind disabled as well and saw those to . To bad we cant play around with them (yet).
-
As for getting the hidden options, there might really be a key combo to press, I guess a good way is to try the usual ones from various Nvidia chipset mainboards. -

no this is the first time i have seen a bios that says that but i'm not complaining about it.
-
i think he meant all of us (on M17x) with the default bios have that.
still waiting for something with voltage modification and fan control -
you won't get either
thats a big no no when you have people on here that have NO idea what FSB or memory frequency is
systems will be frying left and right -
As far as fan control that would be awesome. -
Voltage mods are amazing to have but only in the right hands and are not for the average user thats for sure
.
-
yep, I agree. I think for these, it's best the advance users try it and just give some settings to use for the newbies.
-
have spammed almost every fn 1-12 + ctrl fn and shift ,,,,,,
-
Yeah i didnt have any luck but it was just an idea i had and could very well still be there we just dont know how .

fn + x i thought was it
there is a manufactures mode though -
pretty much talking to myself but i am going to rename the string for the 'select clock ratio and see if it opens up then
wish me luck
BTW i have tried every freaking combination of keys -
I hope you don't brick the system.
-
finally some one !
how are you emulating your BIOS?
I have 2.1 bios editor ? -
I read somewhere to do Ctrl-F1 when in the Main area of the bios and then go to advanced but it didn't work for me.
-
Edit: Word of warning. These are old programs which are good for viewing a bios. Not too good for rebuilding a new bios. I wouldn't trust it. -
i have 2.2.01
i still don't have the option -
Well, I set my FSB to 1333 by mistake (wanted to set it for the memory) and it wouldn't boot, so since I read before that yanking out the battery and the CMOS battery is needed to reset it and I didn't know where the CMOS battery is located nor did I want to take the laptop apart, I decided to try holding down SHIFT to reset overclocking like it worked on my old Nvidia chipset based desktop mainboards and it just worked.
I wish I could remember the hotkeys to activate the hidden options inside the BIOS and try those, but I haven't had an Nvidia-based board in quite a while (Intels Chipsets are just so much more stable and since they also support SLI & Crossfire now, there is no reason for me to use Nvidia chipset boards anymore - well, except for the M17x - but fortunately, the chipset seems to be alot more stable than what I've been used to from Nvidia's desktop chipsets so far). -
well renameing it didn't work but the new bios worked
time to try stuff -
-
there isn't a new one
i created a new one and it worked but didn't do what i hoped it did
here is the BIOS for every one

Haha make a new thread about bios editing for the M17x moo! I keep tracking down you bios posts through the whole forum system!
-
well i had one but it just died

search M17x BIOS thread

hummmm stupid splash screen
I import the file but suspect its not in the code somewhere .... -
Remember that it has to be a certain size to work.
-
yea i need to look what the size is i lowered it down to 800 but i will try 600
Wow im feeling brave lol i have flashed this thing like 10 times tonight testing things -
size and colour depth. i don't know if the splash allows 32-bit colours. try 16.
-
-
well this next one is borderline
in my string options there is system disabled right under something so im changeing it to enabled ....
see how it goes from there
wish me luck -
.
BTW about the bios...
I would try SHIFT + F2 followed with CTRL + F3 -
-
i already have
@ the setup screen post and overclocking -
I saw 2 or 3 motherboards with nvidia which work like this.. -
ill try it again .... after i flash again
-
-
give me liberty for my ram divisors or give me a BRICK !
