turn off all startup items except the nvidia SLi drivers.

Start / Type Msconfig / go to startup and services and disable everything except all the M$ services and the Nvidia ones and give me your Shader / GPU / CPU score on 3dmark.

i ran the test second time and it gave me 7400, then i disabled all the programs except Nvidia, and ran the test again, score: 7500. Basically no difference. But people get over 8000 easily with dual 8700m.....something is wrong with my m9750.
    what is your score stone?

Haha you said "for 06 its 4700 and its low."

Nah 7500 is great. I get around 7600 with my setup but I have the 7950GTX's which are slightly faster. Your system is running fine. I assume you are running vista?

Well, nhaner did enhance the score a bit, so i would recommend it to everyone.

    Thanks stone for your help.

Yep I was actually talking to a guy over on laptopvideo2go who owned a toshiba with specs very close to yours who was scoring around a 7300 or 7400 so your computer is running 100% in terms of 3dmark06 scores :)

Hehe I know I just don't have a copy of XP on me and I really don't feel like bootlegging a copy (that is illegal anyways so I'm not allowed to discuss it). I am quite content with Vista though and it does run very nice and I don't think I could go back to XP at this point.

By the way, back in the days of XP, people said go to Win98 if you wanted better 3dmark performance :)

How do you get over 9k? unless you have a 1400x900 screen which makes your test non-standard, I don't really see how!

Using standard 1280x1024 resolution I get:
    ~8600 in xp
    ~8100 in Vista 32

I've been playing around with Vista lately but my slow hard drive is pissing me off and I'm in the process of ordering a new one to change it out to.

Here's the kicker: I get BETTER framerates in games using Vista than I do in XP. That might mean that my factory installed XP is slowing things down but I'm not about to reinstall XP just because of it =/

My score is probably lower because of only 2GB of ram and a 2.0Ghz processor.

i have 2 gigs of ram, but the CPU is slightly Oced to 2.2ghz, and @ grey728 eith your 2.33ghz CPU you should break 9k without needing ti optimize anything, try Benchmarking with 174.74 driver.

Okay, I'd like to correct that last statement. I get better framerates in Call of Duty 4 but that's about it. In most games, everything seems to run better and faster in XP. Everyone already knows this though.. sooo.. . meh.

Vista Ultimate is growing on me. I like dreamscenes and dreamscapes.. pure awsome to have setup. If I really want to be hardcore about playing games, I'll boot in XP, but I think Vista will be my default startup OS for the time being. I'm a sucker for eye candy.

yeah, Minikisskool's benchmarking is awaesome ! but i would suggest using the 175.19 if possible. and if you have time , Download DMC4 benchmark, its very solid one.

Thats alot of effort to do minikisskool! +REP

No presence of COD4 ;) no problem :D

just a side note, Because the Notebook is limited of 2.5 GB usage, the 2x2gb Ram actually does decrease performance, i personally tested that, just for future refrence, try to play games with 2x1gb Sticks if possible

and as you fellas see, @ 1920x1200 SLI gives a really big kick :D

but the wierd thing is, at 1280x800 with company of heroes. the FPS is actually lower than 1440x900... wierd. i think its AFx16 causing the troubles.

I agree with you for COD 4... But can't find benchmark for this game, and it's very hard to do same thing many time and take average fps with fraps...
For memory, i'll buy kingston Hyper-X (4.4.4.12) next month...
But i don't know if 2x1 is better than 2x2GB... It need to be tested !!! :p

Oh my ****ing god I'm so pissed off right now this computer won't work for ****. Ugh will AW EVER make a reliable computer? I have a HP that has been kicking for MUCH longer than this piece of ****. Running in safe mode 24/7 for the ****ING loss :(

Tested so many drivers you don't want to know. I should be getting compensated for this ****. This laptop is going back the SECOND I get home and hopefully they can finally repair it because it is annoying.

It's just video, I don't know what it is though. The computer will always start without drivers but when I try drivers it will blue screen or simply not start at all. It is very weird as I have tried over 20 drivers. I'm about to shoot myself :(

Does anyone have noticeable problems with horizontal screen tearing on the m9750? I may be picky but whenever I drag windows across the screen or play games I get very nasty tearing. It apprears worse the biggger the window and faster i drag it, so it may just be a refresh problem or the LCD response time. I have tried to make a custom resolution for in the nVidia control pannel, but didnt help much. tried everything from 50 to 60 hertz, and while some got a little better, there was never a magic number that really worked. So I am just asking if anyone else notice these things or is it just me.

By the way, it looks even worse in some games like oblivion when you turn left or right, and I have tried every possible driver as well. It also happens from 32bit XP to 64bit Vista. The problem is just always there. I notice it sometimes on other laptops too, but not as bad as on my m9750.

Anyway thanks for reading and hopefully some feadback :)

What driver would you recommend for the m17x Nvidia 8800m GTX Sli setup to date?

I just recieved my new m17x with top notch setup but is experiencing crashing while playing Crysis........ :(

I didnt want to mess with the stock AW driver nvidia 174.82 until i did more research from more knowledge people.. thanks much..

Well.. Stone doesnt have SLI 8800GTXs :D but you should ask Mangus or Eleron, they both have Stable machines.

But my guess. the 177.41 should do great for you.

EDIT: guys if you want to compare your machine's performance to a fellow m9750 owner, check the SLI Vs no SLI thread in my sig.

I installed the 174.74 ini and driver files as per the instructions for part A. Only thing is I don't see the nVidea control panel anywhere in the control panel screen or in my task bar at the bottom of the screen. Did I miss or do someting wrong? or am I just having a dee dee dee moment? Any help would be great
