Just joined NBR. can't pm you yet as I need to get a good number of posts up![]()
A quick question: Can I apply some discounts like the ones at dmx and is it then possible for the rep to quote a lower price or is this completely upto his/her discretion.
-
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
My rep cannot add discount on top of what you have elsewhere - he may be able to beat it but i cant make promises - it's up to his discretion based on the value of your order to Dell in terms of profit. He has margins to work to and different configurations will offer up more or less room for discount.
Example would be that more discount would be available if ordering a top of the line M18x R2 compared to a M11x - for obvious reasons. -
Waiting for a call from your rep Stevie. fingers crossed
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Hopefully, he will be in touch with you tomorrow - if not, shoot me a PM and I will get at him!
-
Just joined and better say hi.
As and when my postcount is ok for PM's I will be ordering a full monty m18x so will be in touch shortly Stevie.
-
Another newbie - waiting to get the thread count up and then may just take the plunge! M17 r4 with 7970m on the wish list.
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Hi fella's
Hope I can help you both out and get you some decent coin knocked off your intended purchases....once you have PM priveledges, drop me a line and we will start the ball rolling to save you guys some dosh....
-
Would your rep be able to do anything for an Irish customer?
Thanks
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Sure - I dont think it will be an issue....are you N.Ire or S.Ire as that's the only thing I can think of that might be a problem... -
South. If its genuinely an issue I can have it shipped to a relative in London. Does Dell ship to address' not linked to your card/billing address for that matter?
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Pretty sure that shipping to an alternative UK address wont be a problem. It may even be the case that it can be delivered to you directly but I cant say 100%.
I know that a few guys have ordered from outside the UK, had it shipped to a UK address (friend/relative) and then either collected it or had it forwarded on to their country/residence.
Might be best to send me a PM so my rep can get in touch with you and discuss it....see my first post at the very start of the thread. -
Once I have 5 posts I'll get on to you. Thanks for the help.
-
Hi Stevie I've been trawling NBR for a while now trying to decide whether to go for the new Samsung G700 with Nvidia 675 or treat myself and go for a M17x R4 with the 7970m chip.
Have come down on the side of Alienware after reading a lot of very informative posts from people, but the one that swung it was this thread, and how you might know a man who can do better than the discount codes out there!
To that end I'll be putting a few posts in to clarify some questions I still have, then hope to be in a position to pm you in a week or so.
Thanks in advance,
BM -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Sure thing! - always happy to try and help save a few quid for you guys. Look forward to hearing again from you shortly.
-
Fantastic mate
-
Nice, waiting for the 7970 CF to drop the price a bit.
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
I think you will be in for a bit of long wait - they have only just come out....also, when the drivers are 100% sorted, the performance will be massive and therefore, Dell are hardly gonna drop the price on their flagship Gpu's right away..... -
crazyotterhound Notebook Consultant
Just to confirm shipping to Southern Ireland is not a problem. My M14x came from your rep! -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Great stuff! - pleased to hear you didnt have a problem and you got it sorted, and that my rep came though for you with a good deal.....
Happy gaming!! -
Hello steviejones
I am going ti buy a new Alienware M17x R4 is there any chances you could put me in touch of your rep?
Thanks -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Yep. Just send me a private message with the info requestond on post #1, first page and I will get my rep to contact you to discuss your plans...how's that sound?
Hiya guys!

The Aurora R4 MEGA BEAST configuration is SPECTACULAR and comes with FOUR YEARS WARRANTY that is not available on line....the price for the same configuration with 3yrs warranty is around a whopping £4700 - but can be yours for around £3600 - a MASSIVE saving and a KILLER desktop!!
The desktop spec is as follows:
My guy is doing his very best here to put together amazing gaming deals for everyone - not just laptops but desktops too.....if any of you guys are interested in the above systems, don't hesitate to drop me a PM to get yourself a killer rig at a great UK price!!!
Happy shopping!! -
I put together that Aurora config on ocuk and it was £3500. I think its worth the extra £200 for a 4 Year Warranty and peace of mind knowing that its coming from a company and you're not putting it together yourself.
Your rep is a great fella!
EDIT: Forgot the watercooler, brings the total to £3575 shipped. 125 quid, well worth it! -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
I guess if you are into PC building, you can do it on the cheap. Factor in the hours to build it, warranty and Alienware branding, I think the Aurora deal is absolutely stunning....and you dont have to worry about anything for 4 years (if it fails, like for like or better replacement with Dell) - unlike if you build it yourself with various component manufacturers where you get standard warranty and probably no replacement or anything if it fails thereafter.
Well worth it in my book - if I didnt have my beast, I would be getting one myself! - anyone wanna buy mine ? LOL
-
That M17x spec looks pretty close to what I was thinking of
How much longer will I be able to resist.....!
If he does deals on the messenger bag too I may be beyond help
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Hahaha - who knows, he might be able to include that with some discount too
-
Damn you Stevie, your helpfulness isn't helping haha

steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
That's fantastic news Bro!!! +rep for the feedback!
Glad my guy was able to help out yet again!! - I posted some great deals at the top of the page, one like yours and a beast of a Desktop.....
So guys - if you want a good deal, jusst drop me a line and we will get you "hooked up!" -
Can I just jump in to say the rep does a cracking discount ..... My new m17 r4 was a steal @ £1497 ....... The machine arrived a week earlier than quoted to.
Top thread, thumbs up to Stevie and the rep. -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Thanks for the positive feedback on the thread - glad you got sorted with a cracking deal!
+rep!

I ordered an Aurora r4, having unfortunately had 2 defective m18x's. I loved the machine but guess it just wasn't meant to be.
My refund was £3,800
The R4 I ordered came to £3,400 which Steve's rep knocked down to £2695.
That's a saving of £705 or 22%. It also severely outguns my already powerful M18x which had 3920xm, 6990 crossfire and leaves me with over £1k back I the bank.
Ok my not so portable just became not portable but hey it never left my desk.
I also bought a like new Aw2310 3d monitor for £198 which was a bargain I stumbled upon
The Samsung 830 512gb ssd I have is going right in there and I bought a Logitech c920 hD webcam for £60.

Steve that's another +rep. And a beer I owe you
cheers!
Steve...it won't let me rep you so I'll have to owe you one until I can! Lol -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
No worries fella, I'll hold ya to that beer sometime, though
-
Steve your rep did the business for me too - got the same setup and discount as DarkstreetS, then another discount for a messenger bag too.
Am a very happy camper, and will be even happier next month when I get it
Thank you so much for this introduction service £450ish saved is fantastic!!
Rep will be inbound when I work out how to do it
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Great stuff!!!!! - another success story
+rep back atcha, Bro.
It always makes me smile when I know I have helped out someone to get a great system at a fantastic price.....now the difficult part is over, its time to sit back, wait anxiously and then ....... ENJOY YOUR BEAST! -
I hate waiting stevie!
been checking the progress of the order like 10 times a day
Congrats on your new system Badger Man. Thats a great saving you made there.
Man I really hate waiting !!! -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Hahaha - I know the feeling....if its any consolation to ease the wait, my machines have ALWAYS arrived way ahead of EDD. -
Thanks man.. I kinda hope it arrives ahead of the EDD
that thought keeps me going !!!
-
I'm going to try hard to stay calm - the worst bit is going to be the fact the bag is due to show up earlier, so I'll have an empty reminder that my laptop isn't here yet
Am hoping all the driver niggles will be ironed out by then, as a consolation!!
And thanks to you mate - your post, with the saving you made pushed me into going for it myself
-
Nice knowing I put a dent in your pocket
hahaha only kidding mate.
I am glad for being able to help, but the credit goes to stevie!!! Without he's input, we both would have been really badly out of pocket
-
hi guys, my first post on forums
im from Romania / EU and i tried to buy an r17m4 but noone sells it.
also the prices are sky high for any gaming laptop if u buy it online from romanian websites (minimum 2x price from us price, up to 3x, depends on the product). so i rlly need a good deal, but for now i cant pm steve -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Hi there & welcome to NBR!
The problem we are going to have regarding getting you a good deal is that fact you are outside of UK & Ireland. Unless you have a friend in the UK or a UK postal address to have the machine shipped to, I dont think my guy can accept an order from you.
Maybe if you google for a mail forwarding service that provides you with a UK postal address and THEN forwards the shipment on to you, my rep may be able to help out.
If you do know someone in the UK that can accept delivery of your order and the either you collect it or they send it to you in Romania, I think we would be good to go.... -
Yay, my order's gone into production \o/
Messenger bag has been shipped too, so I reckon in a fortnight I'll either be the happiest bunny in the warren, or feel like I'm part of a stew if I get unlucky and receive a dog build!!
Has anyone looked into cooling mats for the M17x? Was going to wait and see if it needs one first myself... -
Hey guys. I am looking to buy the m17x in Uk as I am visiting there and the prices here in india are too high, so can you refer me to your rep? @ stevie ?
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Sure. You will need to have a UK or Irish shipping address to place an order, so if you have that, we can get you sorted. Once you have full forum priveledges (you need to have made around 5 posts or so on the forum) to send and receive PM's, just shoot me a message with the inof I requested from post #1 of this thread.
Catch you soon! -
@stevie AKA Santa lets chat...
How long wo you think it will take to deliver the system ?
and btw thanx for the headsup , I was wondering how to pm ..
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
LOL
Normally, 2-3 weeks is a pretty standard delivery timeframe. Most machines tend to ship/arrive before EDD's. My last machine took 10 days from order to doorstep. -
