Argh.. I'm ready to order but steviejones133 is still away, I really want to give his rep a try..
-
Hi all,
ok so.. having decided to get an mx18, i compiled my shopping list - grand total £3597 - rang dell spoke with rep, complained that why because i am in the uk can i not get wireless hd, bundled 3d specs (with a 3d capable system) & most amazingly why i can't have an engraving, i know manaufacturing has gone down hill in the uk, but i didn't think it was this bad.
I get apparently Dells best offer - £3123 total of 14% off. According to the rep no one else will be able to beat this offer - in fact if someone within Dell tries to take this on they have to refer back to him as he is now my sales manager.
Is this a good deal?
Guess i will have to make some random posts so i can pm someone (laughable) who will then forward my request to a rep who is the daddy of deals with dell. -

because if the starting price is 1.7k and your already above 3k then you could get a really good deal from steves rep....because the more you pimp out your system..the more discount you get..the 14 percent sounds good but im sure you get get some more off... -
Just spoke to the Dell rep, he is offering me 10% off with NBD delivery
I went for the 2630QM, 1080p Screen & ATI 6990M with everything else base.

Heya stevie, I was just wondering if alienware usually have christmas sales that you know of and roughly how much do you reckon your rep could get me off a 1200 pound m14x.
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
As far as how much discount, I cant really comment as thats my rep's department and each system will vary upon spec and profit margin for Dell.....best thing to do is when you are ready to buy, drop me a pm and I will hook you up with my guy.....you can then discuss the "finer points" and hopefully get a good deal.
I know that any quote he gives you now wont hold for months.....more like days..... -
I have tried a few reps who won't budge an inch on the prices. I will pm you with my email address, too if that's ok, stevie!

well worth haggling by any means 1st rep i spoke to, one assigned automatically would not really budge on price, in fact he said no one would be able to better the price within Dell, I like a challenge.
Stevie wanst around so tried Edd6666's guy - he was very helpfulll and managed to get the most off, so i tried stevies guy (I had to wait 2 days for the deal to cool off, he then contacted me) he managed to get a further £20 so deal I had with Edd's guy was pretty much best you could get.
I understand they work if different parts of Dell sales.
so thanks to both of ya saved me about 30% - cheers -

i dont want to sound like a moron but how does this work does the order go threw dells standard ordering system or does it go threw steve or is he jsut the contact if these are stupid questions i am sorry.
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
It is exactly the same process if you called Dell up yourself and placed an order. The only difference is that my rep is quite good at giving discounts where he can.
I put you in touch with him - he contacts you to discuss requirements and if you order, great. If not - nothing lost.
I dont have anything to do with the order process - my only role is to put you in touch with a good rep who can hopefully save you some cash.
Hope that helps and feel free to ask any other questions or PM me.
Cheers
Steve. -

MONEY SAVING ALERT !!!!!!!
Currently, there is a coupon code that takes 15% off an Alienware purchase made online....I checked the code out myself and its valid and indeed works.
This code / deal expires on 3rd October so if you want to buy, get your skates on....here's the code. (thanks to another NBR member who posted about it here)
P6VT5P6XTKD13R
Simply add your stuff to the online basket, copy and paste the code into the relevant box and hit "apply" -
Newbie here too!
Apologies but need to start posting in order to get through to steve and his UK rep contact.
Very tempted by a nice spec M17
Cheers,
Jamie -

I found this code for 15% off all dell laptops over £499. Hope someone finds it of use P6VT5P6XTKD13R
It expires on the 3/10/11 though so you gotta be quick -
Many thanks for the code post, It appear to be valid. I wonder if Steve's contact can better 15% - ok blatant post hoping for Steve to reply!
Many thanks,
Jamie -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Id have to say it would be difficult for him to beat 15%....maybe if you are looking at spending £3k+ on a system.
If not, I personally would grab the coupon and use it...chances are even if my rep could do better, its only minimal and as above, you would need to be looking at a fairly maxed out system. -
Hi Steve,
Many thanks for the quick reply, decision time I think!
Cheers,
Jamie -

Hi Steve,
Thanks again for the post, well I pushed the button last night and hopefully I'll have my M17 around the 20th. Just need to search the forum for the RAM and SSD updgrades people are recommending and I'll be good to go.

I cannot seem to get it to work with Dell Outlet, just says there is a problem with the coupon, but not what.
-
Its not for the outlet, its for the full price retail store fella.
-
There's a 15% off coupon available through quidco.co.uk, valid until the 19th I think.
-
MXWTDXT1MFNSCW
This is good for 5% until 16 Oct.
I wonder if multiple coupons works. -
The code via quidco for 15% off is below, expires 19th Oct.
0TKH4PZ8673N1Q
It works whether you go via the quidco site or not. It says it doesn't stack with other offers, but it took an extra 15% off a M17x R3 I spec'd up that already had £115 taken off it via the popular deals link on the Dell site.
If you are a quidco member then I believe there's 5% cashback as well if you go via the site. The code I used a couple of nights ago has tracked into my quidco account today!! -
Oh. My. God.
I've been watching this thread trying to get a decent discount on an M14x. just got one down to £1000!
Nebula Red
i7 2670QM 2.20ghz
3GB Nvidia GT555M
6144Mb (1x2gb, 1x4gb) 1600mhz DDR3 dual channel
750Gb 7200 HDD
14.1" WLED 1600x900
8xDVD+/-RW
killer wireless N
8 cell battery
Windows 7 home premium 64 bit
1yr collect and return warranty
Use the eurogamer link from alienwares facebook site - Eurogamer Specials | Dell UK
This has £145 discount applied to the start cost of £1344.
Use the code "0TKH4PZ8673N1Q" to save £178.35 with 15% discount.
Brings in the cost to £1010.64, thats 24.8% discount!!! Drop the red to get it closer to £1000.
OR get the stock one:
Stealth Black
i5 2430M 2.40ghz
1.5GB Nvidia GT555M
4096Mb (2x2gb) 1333mhz DDR3 dual channel
7500Gb 7200 HDD
14.1" WLED 1366x768
8xDVD+/-RW
European Dell wireless 1000
8 cell battery
Windows 7 home premium 64 bit
1yr collect and return warranty
For £850. Thats 15% discount!
So £160 difference to get quad core, 6gb faster RAM, 250Gb more HDD, 1.5Gb more GPU memory, killer wireless, higher res screen. Oh, and red! -
Of the two laptop specs you've shown I'd deifnitely pay the extra to get the higher spec'd machine. For the difference in cost it's well worth it.
I can't be sure of the other models in the range but the nebula red M18x is very nice. -
Definately going to try and go for the first option. Its great, as i've noticed they had to upgrade it to 2.20 i7 as they've run out of the 2.0 i7 too!
Just selling my desktop gaming system on ebay! and hope i can get it ordered before the deadline of the 19th! But i'll wrack up 10 posts tonight too so i can ask the famous rep if he can honour this is a week! -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Good Luck! -
cheers stevie! I doubt he can beat that tbh! but if he can get close, that will be great! as i still have to wait for the money to come in first!
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Well, he should contact you soon buddy - good luck with it and I hope he can sort you out a good deal.
-
Well, your rep gave me an email today! Gave a brilliant quote! Not far off what i posted, and it would last til saturday! 5 stars for him! And i know him from the company i work for! so we ended up chatting about work too as we do the catering for dell!
Anyway, i've managed to borrow the money from somewhere now, so i can get through the dell deal online. plus, if i go through topcashback i can get 15% cashback! so that brings down the cost to £883! I will wait to confirm the money tho and apologise to Mr Dell. as if the money doesnt happen, i will happily take up Mr Dells. superb offer! 27% discount is NOT to be sniffed at! but doing it the cashback way takes it to 37% discount!
Cheers for the help stevie! much appreciated! -

Hello fellow awesome computer know-how people! (New to the forums) I just wanted to ask advice on what I should do. There is currently a 15% coupon deal off any dell over £499/$699(??) thats due to end this coming wednesday 19/10/89.
Now I just wanted to ask anyone thats been following dell for a long time, whats the possibility there might be a better deal to be had say around christmas time? I'm looking to buy a stock M14 with just a 1600x900 upgrade and accidental coverage.
Lastly I have never ordered a Laptop before so can anyone explain to me what this UK rep quote thingy people are talking about, is about?
Thanks in advance for any help. -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
To answer a few points, Dell generally dont offer "sales" (specifically on Alienware as they are high end and sell well in their own right at retail prices) so any discount code is a good one. 15% is a big one from what I know of. If you were looking to order via Dell website and configure a system specification on line, I would say its a great discount to be had.
Where Dell rep's come into things is here. Some reps can offer more discount than others, some are more accomodating than others.....I am sure you will appreciate that some sales people go out of their way to help and others dont.
This is the case with a rep of mine. He tries his best to get buyers a good price. Alot is dependant upon how much you are spending and the particular configuration you are looking at (as each system/config. will carry its own mark-up for Dell) will determine how much discount *may* be offered.
Its certainly worth exploring all avenues when looking to buy - this is just one of them. Its all above board and my own rep is a genuine Dell Business Sales Rep (who also will do personal purchases too so dont worry) who would liase with you directly to discuss your plans/purchase.
If you have any more q's, feel free to fire away and I will do my best to help out.
Regards
Stevie. -
How do you get put through to a sales rep anyway if you configure one online? Unless i'm assuming you mean you order by phone. How will that work because i'm not a very confident person when It comes to haggling a bargain. >.<
Also about the discount have you seen any coupons before that were higher than 15%? I would gladly wait till christmas if there was a high chance there be a better coupon offer around then. My budgets quite tight. -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Regarding the size of the discounts i've seen, 15% is a good one....especially if you are looking for a system that isnt running into thousands....
If you choose to speak to someone on the phone, you dont need to be the best hagler in the world, just know what you want to pay (or can afford to pay) and see what the rep will do. If it doesnt meet with what you want, nothing lost at the end of the day.
Saving £££ in the UK buying ANY Dell/AW system OR accessories - please contribute!
