I think you are being extermely optimistic hoping for Dell to give you 20% off a brand new system....unless the total cost is in the region of £4k+ you are living in a dream land....
I know that discounts are possible, sometimes good and sometimes bad....I have a good rep and if you want his details, have a read here:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...-aw-system-accessories-please-contribute.html
And its aslo a very BAD idea to call every rep....simply because Dell log your details so EVERY rep can see how many times you have called and how many quotes you have had and who gave you those quotes....the more reps you phone, the more quotes you decline, the less likely you will be to get a rep to take you seriously and offer you a good deal as you are seen as a timewaster....
I cant promise 20% but I know my rep does great deals.....read the thread, lots of people have used him off the forum via my referrals....testament to how good he is.

Yep keep calling, and if you dont already have one... let them know for an extra discount you MAY be willing to sign up for their DPA account (dell preferred account.. basically a type of credit) since they get bumps for the more people they sign up.
I got an extra 10% (on top of my already agreed upon discount) by doing that.
Then I just paid the whole thing off the day I got the bill in the mail (took them a month to send it to me)
It may be different in Ireland than the states, but give it a go.

Thank the big man up there I found this thread. Looking to buy a M17x soon but overwhelmed by UK prices. Will PM you at another time when I have money. To yhise who have bought using this method: What kind of savings are we looking at? I don't need specifics but are we looking at say US prices?
Thanks! -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
I think he can get pretty close to US prices, taking into account the 20% import duty that you would pay on top of a US purchase/import into the UK. Wether or not you would get the same system specifications simply by changing the $ to a £ is maybe pushing it a bit.....but I do know he has done some great deals.
Best thing to do is PM me and then you and he can "discuss" your order....I dont do the haggling, thats up to you guys....I am just the middle man really with a good contact for discount..... -
Sent the details to Stevie, rep got in touch and save me a bundle. I was literally days away from ordered at the normal web price.
+1 rep!! -

Hi guys I'm hoping to order the m14x this weekend but only if dmxdimension have a discount code which they haven't had for about 2 or 3 weeks now. I would preferably like to order online to get cashback aswell but if I could get advice as to getting discount over the phone I would be very much appreciated.

I've trailed the Internet for actually weeks trying to find a decent deal on dell, and rather sound off again about the price difference between the US and the UK - I'll ask really nicely StevieJones133, could you put me in contact with your rep at all?
I gather I can't PM you - is there anyway I you could email me, if I post my email on here?
[email protected]
I'll be totally in your debt if you could! Thank you!
-

Firstly, I have no probs whatsoever in helping you with your purchase and getting you in touch with my rep.
Secondly, I would advise you to remove your email addy from your post asap to avoid any spamming etc etc.
It only takes a few posts on the forum for you to get priveledge to send PM's....If you make maybe 5-10 posts on various threads, you will ba able to fire me a PM and we can take it from there....
Just get busy having a look around and posting a few comments on various threads...you will be able to PM before you know it!
Hope this is ok.
Regards

Ahhh well, plenty more offers about or discounts to be had....
-
I'd hoped that deal would still be available on Monday 29th but missed it. Would be interested to know how much the M18x I'd spec'd on the website (£2,500) would be from your contact. Will send a PM once I have nbough posts to let me.
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Once you get the chance, PM me with the info from post #1 and we will get you sorted. Pretty sure that my guy can do better than that deal for you anyway.... -
I will soon be ordering an M17x R3 (in maybe 4 weeks time), I can't wait..
I'm looking to get the base spec except with a 1080p screen (60Hz) and an ATI 6990m, I have my own RAM and SSD at home which I will use to upgrade the beast XD..
The total comes to £1,529, I know questions like this have been asked before, but since its going to be a bit of time before I order I thought I may as well ask this now..
I think 10% off is a decent discount (bringing the price to £1,376), do you think that is realistic? Or is that a bit too much to ask.. -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
All in all, its a realistic amount to expect and I am sure that this would be possible.
Im gonna be a way for a few weeks as of tomorrow so I may not be able to repsond to PM's. I imagine I will be back mid-late September. -

Hey all
Been looking around on the site for a few weeks now and im considering purchasing the M17x, after owning a M-17 which has jus died on me an after 3 years of faithful service, although I recieved absolutly terrible customer service from Alienware before they where owned by Dell im willing to give them another chance as I jus love their machines.
Im currently a serving member of the British Army and was wondering what kind of discount Dell offer to service personnel and what kind of time frame im looking at from purchase to delivery as I have about a 2-3 week time frame.
Im aware I could phone Dell and ask but i jus thought I would ask you kind folks first, any help would be greatly appreciated -
Hey agen
Jus thought I would leave an update on my situation, I have been on the phone to Dell today and have decided to go for the M18x of the following configuration

MEMORY 8192MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [2x4096]

This comes to the price of £2134 and have managed to get it down to £1920 im goin to phone back and see if I can get the final price to £1850 as the rep seems very happy to haggle, Im also considering adding a standard M14 or M11 to the shopping list aswell which might help get some more money off fingers crossed
If anyone does have a rep that might be able to better please let me know would be great -
About a rep, steviejones133 has a very good one (thats what this whole thread is about) but he (steviejones133) is away until mid-late september. I recommend you wait until then to give him a try, lots of people have managed to get really good deals with this rep (I will also be trying him in 2-3 weeks). -
computerpsycho101 Notebook Enthusiast
i dont know how quick you need your beast..but if you have the time wait for stevejones when he comes back..his rep can offer a pretty good deal especially if you buying two machines....patience..and you might get your break!cheers -
Looking to buy the m17x mid-range specs, Im just curious if 6gb ram is enough for doing most things these days.
-
Also is the 6990M a massive upgrade when compared to the 560 nvidia card in the UK M17x
-
-
I have an awesome rep if anyone wants me to send him your details, i got a £1800 m17x r3 for £1100 through him, i did order 2 laptops at once to achive this discount but he will still do his best.

I was looking to buy a desktop (alienware aurora ~ £1600) would the reps be able to hook me up with a discount? can someone pm their reps details?
-
