Ive been given the wink from one of my contacts at Dell that the M18x R2 is scheduled for a Decemeber release....obviously ahead of Ivy Bridge, which suggests to me that the R1 would be backwards compatible with Ivy, which is a good thing....if that IS the case, there would be no need to hold off till IB is officially launched.

Specualtion of course but my contacts have told me in the past of the arrival of 580m sli and 6990 crossfire and the info was accurate.

Any news on an updated m14x r2? Modular upgradeable graphics please! I'd even consider an m15x r2!

I have an m17x r3 on its way to me but I really think its going to be too big and bulky to lug around as much as I do! The smaller sizes that Dell offer aren't particularly up to date as far as I'm concerned!

Register at quidco or topcashb ack and get 10% back on alienware purchases. click on the dell link. Then go to dell deals and the gaming deals. See the M14x for £1148.99 -

    M14x black
    14.1" 1600x900 WLED
    i7 2670QM 2.20ghz
    4gb DDR3 1600mhz
    3Gb nvidia GT555M
    750Gb 7200rpm HDD
    8x DVD +/-RW
    killer N wireless

Enter "D48SNWRX59F01V" to bring the price down to £959.64.
quidco/topcashback cashback will be £80 bringing the price to £880.

Have the balls to ask for a bag or threaten to send the laptop back as you've seen other people getting it. I did that and got 10% refund! So thats another £88 to bring the laptop down to £792! Sound cheap enough for you?! ;) Down from £1149!

Also try searching within the dell website for eurogamer deals. They offer different specs at discounted rates. Very similar to the dmxdimension deals. If you go direct from either of these websites then I don't think the Quidco or topcashback discounts will track correctly. So go to their respective website and find the best discount/configuration for you and note the E-value code.

As EvilRas says, link to the dell website through the quidco or topcashback websites (once you have registered with either of them of course!) then copy and paste your e-value code into the dell website search field. Fine tune your configuration then complete the build. In your basket you'll find the option to add your 15% off coupon found by google or on the dmxdimension website and apply it to your purchase.

Occasionally the coupons stack with others that are available because they've not noticed! Don't expect this to be the case though.

I believe that currently the best discount using this method stands to save you some 25-30% off the original laptop cost depending on what e-value code you use. Last week it was a little more as topcashback were offering 15.15% cashback on Alienware pcs.

After I just ordered this I found out another one for £975.58(incl VAT), I now regret ordering the above one, as it is basically same spec as the below one(but alrdy sold after I want to buy it), having the advantage or killer wireless, but the disadvantage is 2630 instead of 2760. What do you guys think about that? I am thinking of canceling my order ty. My main usage is doing some gaming(BF3, Dota 2 and diablo 3) and some mathematical related projects.

Hi! Nice looking spec! I think with the i7, 2.00ghz is plenty! Especically for the price! less than £1k is a great deal! And cheaper than you could haggle new i'd wager! i paid £1k for my M14x! its the cashback and dell refund thats bringing it down to £800.

Killer wireless isnt really a deal breaker. Its not bad once you work it out! but then having the itunes issue was a pain! If the 2.4ghz was available over the 2ghz one, then i'd have gotten that. but i wouldnt be disappointed with a 2ghz i7!

My M14x has the 2.20ghz i7 and its superb! Honestly, get the laptop first and test it out for a few days before making a decision!

And well done on a great price!

yes thats the bad thing about these dell outlet products. most of them end up with resellers who add anything from £100-500 on top of it and sell it as 'supplied to us directly by dell' products. honest people who want to buy just one laptop doesnt have a chance really.
personally i was checking the outlet last 2 weeks and didnt see any good deals on r3's or m18 at all, they disappear couple of minutes after they are put online for sale...

@kaloka you are very lucky to get such a high spec laptop for 1k. i want to order similar spec brand new and it comes up to £1200 even after all discounts and vouchers.

Thanks for you guys replying and the people who helped others in this thread, I think the reason mine is under 1k is just becuz it is 2630qm which is kind of out right now. But I am quite disappointed I saw a 2760qm straight after, but i think u are right, probably I should stick with it(Well I m currently on cancel, but they said I have to confirm an email first, which wasn't receive yet, so I think I am on pending, will tell you guys if this actually works). Try to get a 6990m version instead of 580m if u r in a tigther budget. It is like 200 pounds cheaper. I actually dunno why they disappear so quick, may be those are dell related people buying it(just guessing). By the way you just have to keep checking out at some middle working hours time. Probably nothing new at Sunday(or mb saturday but I m not sure) as I rmb. I have checked the web site like 5 times a day for like a week or more, so you just need to work(check) harder. You do have a chance to get it without premium! More of a problem is finding an outlet good which perfectly suits you(especially display card+Resolution)
PS: English is not my mother tongue so please forgive me if there is flaw =)
The problem of people reselling is that, it causes other problems other than just increase in price. But some of those people just selling ridiculous price on ebay for ty spec, so be aware of that.

hi MAA Cake. we're not allowed to post rep names, but yes we all have a few that are good. if you get 10 posts, you can PM one of us for the names!

However, there are a lot of good deals around! I got my alienware M14x for £820, down from £1400 after cashbacks and discounts.

Remember to go through quidco or topcashback first as you'll get 10-15% cashback for alienware. search for the eurogamer deals to get the top spec machines with discount applied. then put in the current 15% off vouchers to get it under £1000. If you're cheeky you can also threaten to send it back once received, and you might get a bag, mouse, or refund. i got £106 refund! So all the cashbacks, discounts, vouchers, and refund took to to £820.

Oh, and i'm chuffed to bits with it! Join the alienware UK facebook site! there's pics of my M14x with roccat kone mouse on there!

Oh i did not know that rule sorry.

I can make it go down to £1040 for the m14x, but our budget is 900 pounds each, have you received your cashback yet from topcashback, i am registered there already and they can take time. Also when you threatened them was it through email or phone?

Does anyone know if theres going to be black friday sales?

    - Edit, I just looked at your signature of the system you have, thats what we both wants hahahaha, but i can only get it to 1042 or something along those lines.

MAA Cake you CAN get a new m14x for about £900 with i7 2670, 6gb ram, 3gb GT555m, 750gb HD, killer N 1103 Internet. 1600x900 screen. DMXDimension has codes and links, but you need to visit the dell site through either topcashback or quidco (once registered ofc!) first, then enter the e-value code into the dell website search field, you should then get the basic spec, configure it how you want it, then add to basket, finally dont forget to copy and paste the extra 15% off coupon from the DMX or other discount code website - Et voila, you have a nice new machine for a shade over £900 after cashback. Last week it was about £850!

    Incidentally:

    Base XPS L502x
Processor Processor : Intel Core i7-2630QM processor 2.00 GHz
Operating System Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium
Memory 8 GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz (2 DIMMs)

I got the refund by emailing them and complaining that other people were offered a free bag, so either send me a bag, or i will return the computer to get it again with the bag. they opted to do me a 10% refund!

I wanted £800 M14x. i had to outlay £1030, but with cashback and refunds its slowly coming down.

But then if you want 2, you could always try approaching a rep through email. Just be calm and patient with them, and they will do what they can. My guy instanltly offered me the spec in my sig for £1000. So i reckon with some time you could get that down. but a straigh £900 might be a stretch too far.

Well, i simply logged a complaint here: Dell - Support

And i said that i loved my new alienware, but was saddened to see other people on forums had gotten a similar price, but a backpack and tactX mouse thrown in (not a lie, this is true!). So can they send me these items, or will i have to return the system to reorder it again.

A lovely lady said they couldnt send a bag. so i reiterated that my only option was to return the laptop, and its a shame as it would end up in the outlet.

10 minutes later, then tell me they can send me 10% refund.

its that simple! all done over email, so no bravery with reps required!

Ok, had a chat with the dell rep fella that steve uses. He gave me a call about MAA Cake's 2 systems. Basically, the long and the short of it is this. at the moment, twinning the eurogamer/dell offers, with the 15% discount, and going through topcashback/quidco, is cheaper than he can sell the M14x for. So while those offers are out there, get them while they're hot!

Otherwise, if you're after HIGH end M17xR3 and M18x, then there's deals to be had. Or any other high end Dell. then apparently there's more room for manuvoure!

Either way, no excuse not to get a fabulous deal on a dell/alienware! MUCH cheaper than the list price! :)

As always, get 10 posts, and we can give you our reps names if you need them! But remember to look for vouchers and offers!

My freind got a red one and i got black, we needed some type of distinction between the two :p

shame there's no deals on m18x on dmxdimension, i would think that if they are planning to replace them with r2 in a month/two time that there might be some eurogamer offers on them aswell.
im after stock m18x with the only upgrade: dual ati 6990 cards :)
still it comes to £2150 which is about £1000 more than m17x r3 with one 6990 and otherwise same spec.
£1000 more for extra 6990 seems very steep to me...

Yeah, said to me on the phone too. A shame as he misses out on the commission. But you get an extra 10% back for the topcashback, and you can always be cheeky with the email to try and get £200 odd back. All brings the price down nicely.

LoL! I've just always wanted an alienware! And they were always way out of my league! I now want to spread the word that anyone can get one of these cracking machines! You'll see me all over the Alienware UK facebook site too posting discount codes!

FYI, latest 15% off £599 spends is "JPN4LP3D6TR70H" until 16th. So alienware laptops are:

    £747 for the M11x, plus £64 cashback makes £683!
    £959 for the M14x. plus £81 cashback makes £878!
    £1129 for the M17x, plus £96 cashback makes £1033!
    £1427 for the m18x, plus £121 cashback makes £1306!

Don't know if this coupon code applies in the UK but I just posted it in the bargains section and saw this thread:

    Z6GNGV46?WCM0F

10% off AW systems (desktop and laptop) valid through 11/22/2011. Do not know if it is a one or multiple use.

Well, the 15% voucher is still valid today - JPN4LP3D6TR70H

Lets see if another 15% opens up tomorrow. Otherwise, our rep can get you down to eurogamer + 15% price anyway.

For those wondering how i got 10% refund 2 days after receiving my M14x:

I sent in a feedback form:

"I received my new alienware M14x yesterday. Its a brilliant machine! But having spoken to other gamers they have all said that they got a better deal when ordering! Specifically, they would also spend £1000 as i did, but also get an alienware backpack and an alienware Tactx mouse! This is a considerable offering! So i was wondering, how can i return the machine so that it can be re-ordered through a rep with these extras added on? Its a shame that i have to go through this process to get the better deal, but as the backpack and mouse have a retail of £140 its definately worth my while doing so!"

To which they then ask where you saw that deal. is it from dell? did they buy through a rep or a third party? i reply

"Thank you for your prompt reply.

Yes, these are people that have spoken to alienware/dell reps. They have gotten deals that included the alienware m14x bag and tactx mouse, and paid the same amount as me! As you can appreciate, i felt a little left out at that! but being a forum, i only have their gamer tages, not the email they ordered with, or order number.

If theres a way of sending me a bag, i wont return it, and it will be hugely appreciated! if i HAVE to return it to reorder, then i'll have to do that. but i'd prefer not to! especially as the machine ends up getting cast off in the outlet store then!

As i say, not disatissfied with the machine, its a cracking little thing! Its just the offer i got could have been better!

    Thank you for your help!"

At this point they say they cannot send a bag, but can send 10% refund.

    2 emails, £106. i think thats worth a punt!

Feel free to rep me if it works!

Topcashback claim came back today. They were tracking £85, but i disputed as it should have been £124 as they had advertised 15% cashback. But the dispute ended up turning into 15% after vat, not before! So £155!! So price is now reflected as follows:

£1400 (real price with forced upgraded i7 due to stock levels)
    £1344 (listed price)
    £1199 (Eurogamer offer price)
    £1010 (15% voucher price)
£905 (10% refund of £105 because they cant send me a bag and i threatened to send the machine back!)
£750 (£155 topcashback tracking as i disputed the claim and it got amended to 15% AFTER VAT price!)

    bargain of the century!

Lucky chap, but i think the rest of us need to be realistic. Not everyone will get your "extra" £105 off, and cashback is only 10% or so currently.

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing with us. You have given me hopes... :)
Could you also explain how this "Eurogamer offer" works. I am not from UK. Should I buy something from Eurogamer first in order to qualify, and after that, what is the discount?

Also, another question is regarding the gift cards. Do they only work in US? I have read the other thread " Re: AW/DELL Ordering Advice - How to save $$$" and what can I say.. :D I want it.
For a $2000 (5 times $400 gift cards) amount, you get $375 free in gift cards...

    Sorry folks for the following in-experienced query;

With all the various methods of obtaining discounts discussed previously, such as topcashback, eurogamer and eVlaue codes, I think this is the process in going about getting the discounts:

Go to topcashback and click their link,
Configure the laptop the way I want it
Go to the checkout then enter both the eurogamer & the evalue codes
After the laptop is delivered, I then whinge to dell about no laptop bag/mouse and maybe I'll get something back of them.

Does that sound right or have I missed something?

    No thats incorrect.

Eurogamer (and or DMXDimension) codes are the model codes. That means they have a deal with Dell for a certain type of computer configuration offered at a discounted price. The codes (eg. n00w1v06) are to be applied to the Dell website search window so that you get access to that particular deal. These codes are known as "E-Value codes".

After you configure the machine to your needs from there, you then proceed to the checkout. The page before you enter payment information has a box that allows says "Enter coupon number". This box is for the typical 15% discount code found on the many discount/voucher code websites or on dmxdimension.com.

To get the cashback from Quidco or Topcashback, you MUST link to the dell website from Quidco or Topcashback in order for the cookie tracking to work correctly.

    So in summary:

    1. Log in to your Quidco or Topcashback account on either of these websites.
    2. Follow the link to Dells website.
    3. Using the Dell website search facility, search for the E-Value code machine that you have decided most closely matches your desired machine/price.
    4. Configure your machine as you would like.
    5. At the order purchase summary page you need to enter the current discount codes as listed on various coupon/discount websites (typically something like "D6ZDL452WV2Z09")
    6. Pay.
    7. Wait eagerly for your laptop to arrive.
    8. Be prepared to be like a kid at Christmas when it arrives knowing you've saved a substantial amount off the machine!

Regarding step 5 above.... Some codes stack. So its worth doing a google hunt for the best discount by entering multiple codes. More usually, you only get one code that works for the machine but often you may find a modest code that applies to any accessories you buy at the same time (such as bags, printers, mice etc).

    Now go get it!

The eurogamer links have been renamed to alienware christmas special. although the same spec and price. They can be found on my previous post #444 or if you link through the alienware fb site.

But yes, register for topcashback first! as you'll want to dive through them for tracking 10%! I was lucky enough to get 15% due to an offer, but 10% on an alienware M14x is still £86 in your pocket!

As for the US 25% vouchers? no idea, but not seen them work in the uk.
