Well, I think I hold the longest time without a PC at 76 days.
(How long does it take to replace something, anyway)
And I still did not get the TV tuner, so it's really longer than that.

Hopefully you won't have to take my title.

And getting something else is a good idea. I've had a dell desktop that works fine, so i was not without a PC, but I was going out of my mind trying to run games on it.
So, I switched over to the dark side and picked up a PS3. Consoles are not so bad after all: at least theres no Blue Screen of Death.

    Good Luck

    You're right, I'll rephrase:

Non-Microsoft consoles are not so bad after all.

    LOL

Apparently my system will be getting back to me on the 30th which does not make any sense but whatever hopefully it will work. If it doesn't survive my stress test I am not going to be a happy at all. At least my '02 A6 that I just bought should take my mind off of the M9750 for a little while.

The last report that they gave me said that they replaced the video card which would mark the 3rd time the video card has been replaced now. As of now the laptop SHOULD be at my moms office but I have no way of checking as my mom is not in. I will probably call the office today (if they're open) and see if I can swing by and pick the laptop up and check it out.

By the way I'm typing this on my new Eee PC that seems much more reliable than the M9750 :)

Got the laptop back and AW didn't call me once with the VIP service that I was offered. They only replaced the video card (which isn't going to do **** but may as well test it). It really needed a Mobo I think but whatever.

For the record this is the 4th GPU placed in the system.

    Time to test it out

get rid of this thing and get an OCZ whitebook ;)

edit: pertaining to the topic at hand, this is pretty pathetic for a company.

I just think if a company replaced a graphics card 3 times in a row, on the 4th try they should replace something else as its not too hard to **** up a GPU install.

Ugh after a meticulous inspection I found a pretty sizable gap in the front of the computer. Haven't tested it yet but that is already annoying me. Time to call the roswell crew again :(. By the way, if you think I could do this on purpose you have to be crazy because I didn't know that part could come out like that.

    Pic to follow.

I just want a credit or something I'll even pay a 15% restocking fee I honestly don't care at this point it is just pissing the living hell out of me. I don't even know how you can do that on a laptop in all honesty. Im calling them when I get the chance and man it is going to be a good convo (ill record it).

Disgusting. The 15% restocking fee should go to you. I love my m9750, but I have to say that I don't see myself buying an Alienware again anytime soon. The incompetence and corner cutting is alarming.

I know I need to make a move but it is very hard because I'm just a kid. I might have to give in and send it in one more time because I fear that a lawyers will end up costing me ever more money than I am getting out of it.

I'm supposed to wake up for school in 4 hours but I have to finish studying these 2 books for an in class essay (day after we get back) so I've been up drinking redbull and no - name to keep me awake :). Got bored so I came on here.

File in small claims. Document everything, including the phone calls. Once you file make sure you don't let them off without covering EVERYTHING, including court costs. Because they WILL end up wanting to settle. Don't keep going through this again and again if you let them they will keep doing this in the hopes that you will go away or the warranty will expire.

So basically I have nothing that I can do about this ****. I'm too inexperienced to take matters into my own hands so effectively I'm ****ed. I'll be calling the roswell crew (who by the way are a bunch of **** heads) to have my laptop shipped of with the all too good vip service. Man I love these ****ing people though. They don't give a **** about your computer no matter what they say and they always seem to have to send the computer back instead of offering that onsite service which I apparently paid for.

Oh **** I just got an idea, how about I ask for that tomorrow and see what they say?

"Sorry sir but our ****ing comptuers are too advanced for tech support so obviously a computer technician is going to have no ****ing idea what he is doing even though you, a 17 year old untrained enthusiast could probably do it by himself with step by step instructions. I promise you your computer will be shipped and fixed in a short period time, once again sir I'm sorry for bending you over and effectively raping you while your hands are tied behind your back, we at Alienware are really sorry about that. Is there anything else I can help you with today or is being treated for herpes enough for you? Sir feel free to give us a call back at AW any time you have any questions about your computer. Once again I am sorry to hear that we raped you but unfortunately experiences like these do happen.

    /end rant...

I hate alienware with a passion. My ****ing HP hasn't ran into 1 issue yet.

@Chaz - I know you're itching to give me an infraction but if you look at this thread I deserve a little rant...

Their main facility located on Mars, that's why they can't offer you on site service, due to air and gravity conditions.
demand for the m15x dude, there is no way they could fix it, otherwise they would have done it already.

Like I know that they can fix it and I want them to, but it's getting annoying. Seriously, they could have sent me all the parts and I could have fixed it myself. Its not a hard job I don't see why they can't do it right.

Did you pay with a credit card?

If so call the lovely toll free number on the back of the card and dispute the charges and tell them you want an immediate credit. Send the credit card all your documentation.

Oh BTW give them one last phone call and tell them you want to speak to a manager and if he cant help you speak to the managers manager. Dont let them say I will call you back Just let them know you have more than enough time to hold.

Tell them your further actions will be to dispute the charge if they are unwilling to provide you a refund.

    * This isnt legal representation rather just a friendly suggestion*

Yea it is. Once again being 17 years old means that I can not handle law stuff. My mom works pretty much 9 - 5 or later all day (and when she gets home shes doing work and business calls) so she really doesn't have any free time for **** like this so I have to deal with it by myself as much as possible. I don't mind I mean she did buy the laptop in the first place.

You have more than 6 months to do a chargeback reversal. Tell them they keep shipping you defective goods. Trust me on this. =) ( I own several business and some of them go back almost 11 years).

Also when you do your dispute let them know that these items have been sent in for repair and give them the full detailed log of what happneed. This will support the fact that you have given them a reasonable amount of time. Also state your amount of displeasement with www.ripoffreport.com . Then go to the BBB.org and place a complaing. Also file a complaint again the state attorneys office in which you reside; (can be done online in most states". also giving them the same supportive documnet. )

When you call the today dont back down talk to a manger and give them the steps you will be taking since htis has gone on way to long for you my firend.

You dont need to send it back and "hope they fix it" its obvious they havent thus far. The longer you wait the weaker your eveidence gets.

    Hope this helps.

When you are done with all that send emails linking the complaints to alienware.

Once again this is more " What I would do in your shoes" and not legal advice.

Also stone Dont forget one thing, when recording a phone call, most states they require you to inform the other person that the call is being recorded upfront otherwise it wont be admissable. (sp?)

Oh whoops I didn't tell them the call was being recorded. I already sent the laptop back again. Honestly this is such an easy problem to fix that it should be done and over with QUICK. All they have to do is unscrew the case, put a piece back where it should be to fix the bulging, and its done.

They do repairs in a timely 2 - 3 month time period in which your system becomes outdated and you lose money!!! I <3 AW for their awesome business practices!!! I will definitely recommend them to everyone here!!!

    1) Had 1 GPU sent to me (did not work)
    2) Had 1 GPU sent to me (did not work)
    3) Sent the laptop back (when I received it, it did not pass my simple testing)
    4) Sent the laptop back (when I received it, it had notable physical damage that was not caused by me and the box looked fine. Did not bother to test)
    5) Sent the laptop back (awaiting return)

Oh my plan is to actually get my mom involved finally. I argued with AW forever with the M5550 and then she stepped in and helped get things solved. I think if I tell her that I need her help she might be able to help me out with a lawsuit or something.

I'm hoping it doesn't come out that route though, but we'll see. Sorry about not answering your question.

p.s. - when I said lawsuit I meant with my mom because as I stated earlier I am too young.
