you can file a lawsuit in the U.S as long as you are 18 or over and its over 20 bucks. I am pretty sure its 18 and over. At least im 100% sure about the 20 bucks part. Since you have a car arent you around 18?

I am sure there are ways to file a lawsuit if you are younger but i guess a lawyer should know how to do that.

Stone, after reading you ENTIRE thread and reading MRDJs thread, I'm changing my mind. Bunk Alienware, I'm going with Sager. And it's sad because I really wanted one because of the look and stuff. But I have to many reservations about them.

    I'm editing my sig.

Lol that would mean that I got the 02 A6 when I was 11. Someone have too early of a morning to realize that you can buy used cars? :)

@ojchillinndc - I'm glad you decided to stray from AW. This thread was about informing people in the least biased way about what happens. This process I've been going through is 100% pure honesty. To this day, I still don't have the laptop and all AW says when they get it to me broken is "Sir we will do VIP service and I assure you your laptop will be fixed".

I think to myself... "what happened to that other VIP service?".

Anyways when I get it back I will thoroughly test it and see what happens.

I have no idea... I might just try to sell it on ebay or something... Depressing **** guys I honestly to this day will make sure AW doesn't have another sale through these forums (aka people saying "should I buy this M15x?").

AW has made me lose tons of money and now I would have lost a lot of school work but instead I had to spend $550 on an Eee PC (which is working out great btw) because AW hasn't fixed my laptop yet.

I was having problems with comcast and they gave me $100 credit.

    **** AW.

Oh and Chaz this isn't trolling. This is ridiculous and you know it. 3 months now... It would have been trolling if I had ran around complaining in every thread after 1 repair...

Stone, I know Alienware seems incompetent on fixing this issue, but have you tried purchasing a secondary power supply? I've experienced blue screens before that I initially thought was due to a bad graphics chip, but it turned out that my PSU wasn't sufficient.

I'm having a really hard time believing Alienware would be this incompetent that after the fifth attempt at replacing the GPU, that they wouldn't try something new. Even a 10 year old can figure out that something else might be a problem by then...

A new power supply runs for just under $70 including shipping. It does get REALLY hot while gaming, but not so much during normal use. It is possible that something is wrong with it and it's screwing up your laptop due to a lack of power.

Hey guys, I got my laptop back today (october 1st) and I am on the verge of suing alienware. I opened the box, and inspected my laptop. To my surprise (or not...) the bump that I sent it in for was still there, as well as a crack in the bump. In addition, the left speaker housing is out of place, and is dent. Finally, the bottom of the case just is hanging off only being held on by the screws which sucks.

I called my brother today and he said that if I give him their law number he will contact them and see what happens. Honestly this is bull****. I started this thread on July 13th (the problem happened in late june) and it is ****ING OCTOBER 1ST.

Pictures below... (I can't photograph the bump as my camera wont focus that close)

I called the guy and he did not pick up. I will be calling the Roswell crew at 530 if he doesn't get back to me as I need to get this taken care of asap. I will most likely just call the Roswell crew to get the number for their law offices because I am 99% sure they will say "sorry but you are going to have to send your computer back. However, we can do something called VIP service where we make sure your system is inspected the whole way through."

I called the regular Roswell support division and they said that I will most likely have to send the computer in again for a 4th repair. In addition the only way to contact their law offices is to send a letter there via postage which will take awhile.

They will get back to me tomorrow and tell me what my options are. iE I wanted to wait but honestly I am so behind because of this computer that I'm just doing whatever right now.

It's just that when I pay so much for a laptop, I expect it to work 100%.

If I were you I would see if it worked before I send it back. If it is running fine I would not send it back for a "bump" and see if you could fix the cosmetic problems. I would not worry about the cosmetic problems if the computer worked.

Me neither but the computer is a $3000 computer so I expect everything to be perfect. I know that you might think I'm crazy, but honestly I VALUE my money. If this was a $500 computer I would not care nearly as much.

no you are not crazy. this is not even a true/false situation. you certainly have rights for demanding a flawless condition laptop, regardless how much it cost as long as you are within the warranty period, no ones can blame you here. but if I am in your situation I would probably just take one step backward and leave it as is (if the GPUs are working).

:(. I think I'm just going to sell it on ebay IF I can get a decent price because I'd rather just build my own desktop and then KNOW what problems to fix. Like I swear I tell companies that such and such is broken and then they tell me to do some bull**** test on it. Then I get the computer back and that part is still broken. I'm thinking can't you just TEST another part in there but apparently they don't.

As I said I'm probably selling it on ebay before I even open it and building my own desktop because 90% of the time I know what is wrong but having to go through tech support and having them replace the wrong part is frustrating especially when they finally replace the part you've been telling them to replace.
