Ah, I remember the 6800 GTS... I had one of those... Good times!
-
That was quite the beast, back in the day.
-
Not an AW, but I just sold my XPS M170 that had a 6800 ultra to my brother in law for $200. It was a major upgrade to the Dell Lattitude he was using. XP, 1 gb mem, 2ghz Pentium m, 80gb HD....

Thank you for posting up and I will probably never check your website for this promotion but thank to you posting up I will actually step in and give my 2 cents here and there. Please make sure to post up daily and reps to you for stepping up and doing something cool for once versus $$$$
The last 2 designs have been very tame compared to the ALIENWARE stereotype we are use to so I wonder when we will get some of those headed our way. Both of those look like a MEDION PC or a VPR MATRIX. -

I was not able to post the pictures for a couple of days, so I'm going to do all three today.
All this systems were not released as gaming PC's, the first one was actually a work stations, a very nice one if I may say, and the other two were Digital Home Systems. Meet Alienware's
Tuesday:
Our design team at the moment, requested a specific design for the front bezel, that's why the chassis ventilation was created that way.
Wednesday:
Thursday:
Fun fact about this one: the touch controller was never released to the public :O

Keep them coming!
I am saving all these pictures so I can try to collect all the old aliens. -

Right now the oldest thing I have is a hangar 18, but I have the remote from a DHS321
EDIT:
I hope you include the old alienware branded shuttles, and the alienware all-in-one. -

Oh man, that's just classic!
-
I am still using a case like that one for my desktop. It's one of the best tower cases I have ever owned. It's made of very thick steel and it is quite heavy. It is awesome in every way. Mine is black, not green.

CptXabaras Overclocked, Overvolted, Liquid Cooled
wow!
thanks for this! keep them coming -

Ah, I wish alienware would make a new mp3 player/boom box
-
I want a new fifteen inch M15s that is more portable, weighs 3.2kg or less, has a numpad, 2+2.1 speakers and a twin-fan-layout...
and a wide gamut IPS screen with a matte coat!
...Never will get one of those though, I bet. -
always love posting this.
alienware systems circa 1999. I guess AW didn't really start going for unique aesthetics until the early 2000's.

Ahhhh memories...I built something similar to the area51 for 1/2 the price back in the day.
...tapatalk... -
Staggering to think that a computer that was over 3 grand 10 years ago wouldn't even be able to measure up to one costing 300 dollars now.

that definitely takes you back...if $2199 is still a lot of money, just imagine back then, I would've never been able to afford that...

YAY!!
Here is my hangar, I rebuilt it with some more up todate parts, Funny thing, the case for the hangar 18 is actually a msi media live case. I used the back plate from a msi so I could use a new motherboard. The hangar has all the i/o ports just drilled into the rear of the case, the msi has a square cutout for the i/o shield, so I drilled out some rivets, swapped the panels, now I am down one pci slot, but have a perfect i/o panel.
I got the hangar that had the surround amp in it, but I cant use it with the new motherboard till I figure out the pin outs on it.
Next to the x51

That one was $3499 even back then!!!
But that's really the case, even cellphones are much more expensive 20 years ago. I remember my dad used to have a $1000 cellphone that has its own bag and a curly wire connected to the bag. -
As far as I can tell, Alienwares still command a significant and palpable premium, but by far less than they used to be.
In my opinion, though, while the notebooks are almost competitively priced, I think the desktops still demand a lot of 'brand tax'... -

^^^^ Seems like that was the first generation of "styled" AW.
-
The Skullcap design was what really first quite made Alienware stand out.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
I remember when the M9750 offered RAID 0 64 GB Samsung RBX SLC SSDs for 2000...lol

Oh yes, I remember those... didn't their front-bay covers rise upwards?
-
For me, the skull cap design was my least favorite. Its for sure the one that put aliens on the map for design, but I just dont like them.... I like the sharp lines of the new stuff, and the boxy looks of the old stuff.... I guess this is also why I like cars from the 80s

I love seeing all of these old rigs. They bring back a lot of memories of technology and companies come and gone.

That reminds me, Alienware doesn't have a full-ATX system in the lineup anymore, does it? I only see the Aurora ALX and the X51.
