anyway, just drop all these tough act and look at it this way. the more consumers are okay with garbage hardware and dont speak up, the more they will be selling it. no one complains means OEM will just shrug it off say everybody else is ok with it.
people that dont care simply because they dont understand, are stupid, or simply dont have the time, and that means they aren't enthusiast nor can they call it a "high end" gaming laptop. sure it's gaming laptop but definitely not high end, not even close, yet spends 5000-6000 getting ripped off to no ends thinking they bought a good product.
these people have the right to know, if they getting ripped off and lied to yet brainwashed thinking they got something good, then thats just wrong.

My current laptop cost $1800. IF I choose to upgrade to a brand new 1070/1080 laptop it would cost me anywhere between $1800-$2800. Total cost I would have spent on two laptops would be $3600-$4600.
Nobody but you enthusiasts are spending $5000+ on a single laptop here. And what happened to Mr. Fox's $5000 laptop? Oh he had to sell it for $3000 4 months later, which means he made a loss of $2000. Forget about the time he spent tuning it.
What's going to happen to the people buying Clevo's new DM3? Well they'll upgrade to Kaby Lake some point in the future but that's it, and then Nvidia/Clevo will change the MXM design for Volta and they'll be **** out of luck. Anyone who truly doesn't believe Nvidia/Clevo will pull that **** again in a year is being delusional. They're definitely going to do so.
And yes that's wrong but it was you enthusiasts who spent the past 2 years making fun of everyone who bought a BGA laptop because they'll never be able to upgrade it. What happened 2 years later? You got the short end of the stick by the companies you held so highly in regard. Neither you or I can upgrade my laptop to anything meaningful...well I mean unless you're going to try and convince me that a 1060 upgrade is definitely a top of the line gaming beast!
Even if I buy a whole brand new GTX 10 series laptop, I would have still saved money and have a significantly more powerful gaming machine than what you enthusiasts have right now. Well not in the CPU department but definitely in the GPU department and since its for the gaming the GPU > CPU.
So at the end of the day when you look at it. YOU were the ones who got screwed, not us. We bought our laptops knowing full well what to expect from the future. You bought your laptop with the hope that in the future Clevo/Nvidia/Intel wouldn't shaft you, and they did shaft you. Big time.Last edited: Sep 1, 2016Caladdon likes this. -

And of course that's not including the countless hours he spent tuning it, testing it, benching it to turn it into the machine he had. That time is essentially priceless.
But let's say $4000. Either way you look at it the VAST majority of people buying gaming laptops are not spending anywhere near $3000 or more. The only people doing so are enthusiasts, that's my entire point.
The average person is spending maybe $2000 or less on a gaming laptop and then upgrading it every couple of years with a new one. Ole!!! was making it seem like these guys are buying $6000 laptops and then throwing them away every 2 years and then buying another $6000 laptop. Virtually nobody is doing that.Last edited: Sep 1, 2016 -

I paid about $ 3750 for the BGA-KILLER in sig. Including 2x 512GB 950 Pro and 512GB 850 Pro. And of course the 1TB old fashioned HDD. Those ssd's isn't the cheapest ssd on the market.
Maybe you remember it to next time you spread **** and claim what other payd?TBoneSan likes this. -

And this doesn't quite fall into an enthusiasts system i think. -
Just like how my laptop when new from alienware would have cost $2400. But yet I got it (new) for $1800 because of various discounts + free ram upgrade. Does that mean if I tell people a new alienware 17 r2 costs $2400 means I'm lying? Hardly.
But I find it funny you claim that I'm spreading ******** but not Ole!!! who claims we're all spending $5000-6000 on laptops and then throwing them away.
The average gamer is buying laptops less than $2000, maybe $2500. The average enthusiast is spending more than $3000.Last edited: Sep 1, 2016 -

Alright folks, the past dozen of pages was filled with personal attacks and off topic posts that me and my colleagues had to remove.
After all this, I see no sign of improvement and as a result, this thread is now closed.toughasnails, Rengsey R. H. Jr., ghegde and 10 others like this.
