ya gotta add the custom resolutions.. do you have the 1280x1024 resolution available in desktop settings?
-
i can't quite follow you mate
-
y'all are having issues with 3dmark using odd resolutions. If you right click your desktop, and select display properties..is the 1280x1024 resolution available to you in your selections offered?
-
no. should it be?
-
i dont think the res is there since 1280 and 1024 isnt the same aspect ratio...its the res for those TFT displays.

I seem to have problems updating to this official driver from Nvidia. I always get the error saying something about driver compatibility.
Are there any steps that need to be done besides just downloading and running the installer?
Edit: Just saw Oceanus' post regarding the changing of the inf file. I thought that since this came from Nvidia itself, there would no longer be a need to do things like that. -
If display manager doesn't support the resolution then neither will 3dmark, games, etc. You need to add the resolutions to the driver installation.

I installed this driver but now my card is downclocking. is there anyway to get those back up without going back to my previous driver?
* they are at 200 - 100 -100 currently -
are you sure you aren't experiencing dynamic downclocking? while gaming, your clocks should go back to 800/1250/something...
-
i keep getting scores like 5700 ,even i registerd 3dmark06 .and selected 1440x990 resolution..same thing..but the gaming performace was good..didnt notice a difference..
-
whizzo - yeah you are correct. when i got fallout3 running my clocks went up, though they jumped for a while before leveling back out

Installed the driver for GeForce 9500M GS, and version is currently 179.28? Is this right?
Don't see much improvement, just added a new physics engine or something to my control panel. Perhaps better performance with COD4, but it crashed all games at 1 point.
Whoo Hooo! nVidia now releasing laptop drivers
