ahh.. I was confused cause the walk-thru shows the HD3200 being selected not the 3870. Didn't know if ya had changed it or not..

there has to be a better game then crysis cause with my t9400 @ 1920*1200, i average 17fps to. and so did mhooper with his qx9300 @3.5ghz or 3.8ghz.

 

This is a gpu driver comparison So a game which doesn't realy care about what CPU it's running on would be the best, wouldn't it?

I just see you added your W scores! Great results! I'll add my WIC (1280x124) results asap, may be you can run 1280x1024 as well

I would, but I don't have it installed at the moment. Besides, W7 ATI driver still gives me scaling issue, meaning that I would have to play in a letter box.

You want to use the newest ATI driver? Here you will lern how!

In CCC there IS the scaling issu but I don't have to play with black bars when I run something on less than 1440x900 (ok when it's not 16:10 than I have black bars)

But even when it doesn't give you a solution (some say the 1200p display makes the scaling issu) the score with black bars around shouldn't be far away from the full screen 1280x1024

So now I did the WIC Demo (steam) benchmark and got this results with 9.3

average : 30
minimum: 12
maximum: 57

Funny thing is, that it seems to have the scaling problem only under W7, dunno why.

Hi all

I was stunned to see that AW 8.12 works fine with Vista, but not scaling under W7

Just tried modded 9.1 and it behaves same way. It seems that scaling problem is OS related.

Just wanted to ask, is there any driver that is not having scaling issue under W7?

I thought the 1200p screen resolution is the problem ... for me 9.3 makes no problemes

hey julian i tried AW newest drivers, its what i have been useing to score with im 30 points behind so if i switch to 9.3 on w7 when i get my ssd ur reign is over in the t9400 area

But it sounds good May be I have to shut down as mutch as you do/did? ... As far as I remember this 12,499 was just luck^^ A test run without shutting down something ... this was a mistake because I never scored so high with shutting down something^^

And you did it with the modded 8.12 from AW? Hm ... may be I should try this one ... give me a moment

So I tested the new AW driver (I'll call it AW2^^) but not with every trick I have so may be I can hit 12,5k soon^^

This time I just wanted to see wheather I have a overheating problem but I guess not ...

I used 1280x720 and after each run I just sent the result and let it run again...

I am to potatolike to give the scores names so pls don't care^^

I would need a external monitor to see the temps during the 3DMark and because of that I'll take a look at HWMonitor Pro to see the C° via a different notebook ... I guess this will shorten the scores but extends my knowledge

Does sb know the "perfect" C° for GUP und CPU?
And may be a tool to take contorle of the fans?

just let hwmonitor run minimized while you run 3dmark and it will show your min/avg/max temps. just remember to reset it after each run.

 

I did this as well but I saw that the differences between hot and cold effect the different benchmarks different

So I am interested when (during running which benchmark) the GPU is very hot

easy. run crysis in windowed mode with hwmonitor running side by side.

or run furmark in window mode with hwmonitor side by side.

wprime for cpu with hwmonitor




your gonna need to run a game to see how hot your cards are going to get..

So I ran the Crysisbenchmarktool over an hour. I used the CPU time demo and the GPU time demo.

Because loadingtimes the cpu burn and the gpu cool I decided to make it run 3 loops than change map and so on

But, still my M17 ceeps realy cool, doesn't it?

The 2,62GB used ram may be because I disabled "windows put some ram files on the HDD" (I don't know the name in english sry^^)

you void the warranty by posting to the forums and stating it for the rest of the world to see.

and you changing the fan is voiding the warranty. since it's coded in the bios rom file.

yes, it stays pretty cool. now go back and do that test at it's native resolution of 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 or 1680x1050, if your screen fits in there. and don't run very high, just do all high

 

you guys moddified the fans in it. with what and what temps did you get. also where did you get them. I amjust wondering.

My native res is 1440x900

OK now I tested AW2 with 1280x1024 and I "only" get 12153 ... not as good as AW1 but it's ok

Hm ... I tested the drivers on W7 and I realy like W7! For W7 I would say go with the 9.3 it's the best you can get for games atm!

For the use to pown Mr.Moo I use the AW drivers because they realy let 3DMark06 burn! (only the W7 Beta driver on 1280x1024 can outperforme them)

Ah and I only use Vista for BF2 and AA, as well, because of PunkBuster!

Normaly, eg for L4D, WIC or Crysis, I go with 9.3 and W7

yep w7 for sure and 9.3 is pretty nice though 9.1 seems a bit more stable most of the time for me. but for benchmarking the older drivers are better imo

 

When would you say the driver caused a crash?

I never raliced a crash since 9.3 So I can't agree with you

I put the 9.1's (from E) on my M17 when it arrived last week and everything has been rock solid. The 3dmark06 scores are still over 14000 and gameplay has been very fluid. In Fallout 3 I've got it set to ultra-high and it's perfect. Will load Crysis tonight and see how it does. Im not sure if the 9.3's bring any more FPS to the table but others have been using them so they might know.

 

whats your specs? we can do a comparsion

i can clock my cpu down to 3.06 and run it in dual core mode. to see if i get the same scores. i will do it to you to julian. i'll set it to stock speeds at 2.53 and run it in dual core.

edit: i don't have 3dmark06 installed. but i can do fc2 and dmc4 right now.

 

Hm ... it would be interesting to see the diffrence between 6mb and 12mb cache, some say it wouldn't change mutch, but I say it will

it won't make a differnce because the qx9300 is to dual cores on one. meaning the there is 2 6mb cache. but what i can do is run it from each cores to have 12.
