UPDATE Catalyst 9.6!

The fastes driver for Crysis was Catalyst 8.10 with 17,31 FPS @ DX10, 64bit and 1280x720 AA=16xQ



This time with 9.6, even without shutting something down, I got this! (same settings)

19,76 More than +2,4 FPS (2,45 )

I know sb said the beta drivers would increas the temps but I think this version doesn't:

i have AW m17
& am playing - swat 4 stetchkov syndicate

its a Old game & still get lags

Is there something else or more i can do to improve my Game play

I have Vist 64bit 3870 crossfire

Have reinstalled my ReSpwan 2.0 thre times
hopeing it will get better but still cant play in Full resolution which is 1600

I play in the 800 res

I tryed these cleaners also

Vista Manager
or System Mechanic

anything u recomend i must install on my laptop

I just wanted to post this since I just installed B14 Bios!! With the new Bios I was able to break 11000 3dMarks....I am very happy with the new update!! I hope this link works to verify my 3dMark06 score!! This is with the Q9000 2.0ghz processor. I hope maybe that this will work to put a comparison for this proccessor on the list!!! If it does not, let me know what I need to do so that we can add the Q9000 to the list!!

please , someone benchmark crysis with 0xAA at 1440

 

I didn't exactly 'benchmark' it but I can play it on High at 1440x900, 0xAA with near constant above 30fps.

My system's specs are in my sig below.

Note that if you have a dual core (unless it's one of the high end duos) your performance WILL be less, Crysis works best on a Quad.

 

I called Alienware Support & ask them to install the Catalyst 9.6

he tried 3 times & could not, so finally he installed 8.57
which he got from My Hive

Ony the Windows 7 version of 9.6 is "ready" for Mobility Cards ... I guess this is the main reason why they don't "have" it there

I'm running Mob Modded 9.5. [Edit: removed bad info]

You can get them here. Just run the install, no real need to "uninstall" first.

You can download the desktop version of Vista x64 9.6 drivers from ATI's website, but you'll have to use mobility modder in order to install them onto your laptop.

Been running 9.6's for half a week now without any issues.

 

Year 9.6 is great! But you have to mod them and Alienware will never "upload" drivers which aren't "completly" compatible ...

But with Windows 7 there is NO REASON NOT TO USE 9.6!

Julian, if you could add 9.6 benchmarks to the first post that would be great. They are definitely the best performing drivers by far.

 

yeah i agree, i have put on modded 9.6's and they are much better

 

May be 9.6 is even optimiced for Mobility Cards becaus of W7 support?

I added Crysis 9.6 but @ 3DMark06 I am a bit low (normaly I do a best of three, and take the best score)

But I'll put some time in it on monday because I have short "holy"days there (all teachers have no time for my class xD)

PS: ok Americas Army isn't working again so I might run some benchmarks now^^

EDIT: I have a problem! After I did this test I installed Raid0 by myself and this increses the score I think ... should I still put this "cheated" score down there?

 

I just installed MobModded 9.6 drivers. Is it ok that in device manager it shows a primary and alternate (total of 2) ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 3870 X2? I know the X2 is a different card in desktops.

Wow, holy crap people still play Americas Army? I loved that game!

Wait what? AA 3? I didn't know there was an AA2..omfg I've been out of the loop for a while now! lol Last time I played AA was back in 2005, so thats probably why.

Sadly I just killed my m17 during 9.6 3DMark06 benching (an other thread^^) some minutes ago so my be you will have to wait a bit longer

Ahhh yes, i stopped playing right around the time special forces was coming out thats right. I saw your other thread, thats a real bummer, did you try booting to safe mode?

9.6 definetely seems to help Crysis performance at least.

 

Year, I forgot to run a WIC benchmark befor "patching" but 9.6 should help it as well
