Yeah, I will try to do some more tests on it soon... wish other q9000 users would post some benchs...
When I first booted the system there was a benchmark file on the desk top that said they benchmarked it for somewhere around 10,x00...
-
it sounds just right

Hi guys,
Im a little concerned that my benchmark score seems low for my M17 -T9600(4Gb RAM)....see attachment.
I turned my resolution down on my dual ATIs to 1280 x 1024 as I thought was best and used "game booster" from IObit to turn off background services!
I remembered after that my ATI settings in CCC are not set at default and are in fact a little higher. I will run the test again later at default settings.
Im worried because at the beginning of the thread it says over 13000 should be attainable for this CPU on the M17 and I have only reached around 11500.
I dont have a notebook cooler or any other mods and dont know anything really about this but would love a few tips on how to improve on these scores in a practical sense.
I would never dream of doing something to my M17 that would void its warranty or risk damage such as overclocking or DIY modding I would like to be able to reach a fair score.
I noticed it started to struggle on that first CPU test and the FPS went down to almost zero! I just want to rule out possible problems for the future.
Any advice would be appreciated.
ps, Ive just started monitoring my temps and they tend to hover around 50 -60 in general but after a few hours gaming the other night one of the readings hit over 75c but I suspect this is normal...please confirm.
Thanks guys as usual.Attached Files:

panic over!!!
I have restarted all the services and reset CCC back to defaults and am now hitting 13000(see screen-shot)
will teach me not to mess with settings again! LOLAttached Files:

Check this out!! B14 Bios with Q9000 2.0ghz processor. I hope that this will work so that we can add this processor to the list at the start. If it does not, please let me know what I have to do so that we can add this processor to the list.

Need it for here: CPU Comparison

Yeah, what was the score Lyfincyte?
Was it above 20,000? we'll believe you, really. -
No it was not 20,000.....only 11,769... but when system was sent it was only getting 8,900.... how do I get a result so you guys can see?
-
I will try again later and see if I can repeat this!!
-
Here try this....lower than before but still pulling 11,000 plus where I was getting 8,000 to 10,000 3dMarks!!
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=11235112 -
Any suggestions on what to turn off while I run the program to see if I can get higher numbers....still new at this...plus it states that my video cards are unlinked or false...does 3dMark06 recognize dual video cards?
-
Make sure your m17 has enought space to breath well

Julian -
Did that link work that time?
-
-
I see that now, I don't understand why its running at 1995, does anyone now how this could happen....or for that matter to get it back to 2000 or 2.0ghz?
-
I noticed that the Q9000 isn't on that list...I'm downloading 3DMark06 now to provide some results for you, julian. My score might be a bit higher than normal though because I'm running the new 9.6 drivers.
-
Erm, someone help? 3DMark06 refuses to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 properly. It gave me an error when it finished installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 and the progress bar moved back to the beginning, where it's now stuck.
EDIT: Nevermind, got it working. Results coming in a short time. -
Has anyone compared 3dmark with E-wrecked 9.1 drivers with Catalyst 9.6, is there much difference?
-
This is the CPU comparison thread, but this one has the info you're looking for I believe:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=391073 -
I also have the 9.6 now with W7 RC1 7100 and now I can't get over 6,000 3DMarks...not sure what is going on but I have lost major GPU power it seems...also the driver I am using is 8.61 I think!! Also noticed that when I try to use 3dMark06 now it seems that it reverts to Windows Basic colors for some reason and I can barely even run it. Has anyone else had this happen in Win 7?
-
Well I know I did not beat Evil but here is mine with system running normal again on W7 RC 7100...
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=11327461
I am just under evil by a few but I am also using the Beta 9.6 catalyst and 8.62 drivers...not sure if that is what he used!! Good job EVIL!! But mine is also at normal resolution also not 1280x720...I think if you ran at normal display you would get a lower 3DMark06 score...again I am new at this but I think my score at normal REZ beats yours...EVIL how did you over clock the Q9000 did you use a new bios or something? I do not want to do it yet as I am under warranty and all but that is something I would be very intrested in... SO DOES MY SCORE GET THE LIST FOR 3DMARK's at normal res then? ANYONE? ANYONE? BULER!! BULER!! -
Hiho
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=4492459#post4492459
This is my other comparison thread! But 3DMark06 doesn't like 9.6 and W7 as mutch as Vista
Ah and this sounds like you are running without Crossfire? Did you enable AI in CCC?
Greetings
Julian -
Hope my addition to the scores helps you guys. (The Q9000 scores)
-
Julian, here's my scores:
QX9200 W/ E-Wrecked 8.12 Drivers
2.40ghz (1280X720)-13491
2.52ghz (1280X720)-14011
2.80ghz (1280X720)-14969
2.93ghz (1280X720)-15346
3.06ghz (1280X720)-15704
W/ 9.6 Drivers:
2.93ghz (1280X720)-15702 -
I added them already
THX! -
Greetings
Julian -
Yeah, when I get a chance I'll kick it up to 3.06 and see what the drivers do there.
-
Julian, kicked it up to 3.06 @ 1280X720.
-
WoW 16.036!
THX!
Do you have the possiblility to run it @ 1280x1024?
I added it ASAP
Greetings
Julian -
My screen is 1440X900, so I can't run @ 1280X1024.
When/if I get some spare time, I'll hook it up through HDMI and try to run it on my TV. Not sure if that'll affect the result though. -
You can disable the Notebookscreen and set the TV to 1280x1024, than 3DMark06 will run on this resolution! THX
Greetings
Julian -
No, I know I CAN, I just don't know how much it'll affect the results having to do the extra work of converting and sending the signal through the HDMI as opposed to directly through the cards through the on board LCD connector.
-
Those are some great scores Ovrclk350!
Do you by chance have a link to the mob modded 9.6 drivers for Vista 64? -
-
-
Ah ok you are running 9.6 under Vista, right?
Greetings
Julian -
Yeah, haven't tried Windows 7 yet.
-
Ok I may be wrong but if you run 3dmark06 at 1280x720 you get a higher score than if you run at 1280x1024...so like I had before at 1280x1024 a score of like 11,301...I tested my theory and I ran it at 1280x720 and I received a score of...
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=11338610
is the only reason that EviLCorsaiR is listed on front page is because he is using a verified driver? Because my base score on both 1280x1024 and 1280x720 are both higher than his before he overclocked!! If he ran normal at 1280x1024 his I believe I am still running faster with a better 3dmark06 score...not by much but I believe my name should be up there not his!! If it is because I am using the 9.6 cataylst and the 8.62 driver which is not verified by futuremark YET!! Than I understand why he is there and I am not!! I do also understand he has now overclocked his Q9000 and I have not so I will not be able to produce that kind of score YET!! Then again I may be over stepping my bounds here but if you are looking for the best 3dmark06 score with a Q9000 so far I believe it is me!! Overclocked it is surely EviLCorsaiR until I overclock mine!! HEHEHE
Please adjust if I am right!! -
i topped out my score as shown below Julian if you want to add to the list, i have a thread somewhere which gives a list of my clocks if it helps
edit : my stock score for the 8600 was 11567 and o'd to 2.97ghz was 13586 -
I am happy for your feedback
But this is not a "who has the longest" thread
Ok may be a bit, and you are right, normaly the highest score should stand there, but I think I never listed yours? Because I would never delete a score which is 1280x1024 because of a 1280x720 ... I am happy when I have both^^
Give me some time and I'll add that
Greetings
Julian
PS: (lower score + link) > (higher score + no link) -
But what resolution?
Greetings
Julian -
All ran at 1280x1024 I normally ss and don't save the links can provide screenies of the runs if u want?

THX! To add vantage would be a great idea, but I am searching for results since a longe time but wasn't quite successfull! ATM I am bit buissy (school) but in 3 weeks I have 6 weeks of holiday and then I'll PM to all m17 guys
I'll add the resolution asap

Julian
PS: Ovrclck350: you posted no 3DMark06 screenshot -
