I think Jlbrightbill skipped a few posts :eek2:

Since these drivers are modded for notebooks it would be better if you downloaded the original ones from ATI's site since you wont have anything to gain from these either way.

Depends on the games you play, 8.12 might perform better in some and 9.1 better in others. If you feel happy with the 9.1's then stick with them, if not roll back to 8.12.

I did try out both, I dont see any major difference in fps in crysis on 8.12 and 9.1, I think I got +2 or 3 in 8.12 , however i did try DNA Ati driver 9.1, that increased the the fps by 5-6, however i had scaling issue.

To cut it short i think i will stick to 8.12 for now, thats the driver i get the max in 3mark06 , around 1220

Just keep in mind that higher 3dmark score doesnt mean better gameplay.

Thats only in E's 8.12 and 9.1 modded drivers. Dont think we have any .infs for 9.2 with the tweaks around at the moment :)

The 8.12 drivers give's me 25-30 fps in Mirror's edge on veryHigh and 1920x1200 But with 9.2 i pulled out 60fps.. that's i big diffrent. But i have the scale problem with 9.2 =( but it runs in fullscreen in 1920x1200 so that's god inuff for me then..

And the 8.12 was very laggy in Far Cry 2, but with 9.2 it's not and better performance to.

With Crysis 9.2 give me 2-3 fps better then 8.12

And i don't care if 9.2 is not better in 3dmark. the importent is the gameplay for me.. i have pulled 16680 in 3dmark06 with stock drivers and 16300 with 9.2 so what.. Ofcourse it's intresting to se how mutch your computer can do in 3dmark.. but don't get stuck with 3dmark score.. because you probably bought this computer to play i think?

The issue with Mirrors edge is not the quality of the drivers. 8.12 dont have a profile for Mirrors edge.

An easy way around it if you want to stick with 8.12 is renaming the Mirrors edge.exe file to something like MassEffect.exe.

I think 9.1's got mirrors edge profile, plus E modded those too so you shouldnt have any scaling issues with those.

i have 9.2 working in on my whitebook under win7 x64.
Jlbrightbill in the forums custom made it to work and it should work under x64 vista to. (maybe x86 but i'm not sure about that. now if E-wrecked or zfactor can moddied the drivers and put the INF in it. we will be gravy.i'll find the link he gave me.

it's stock drivers from ati with the inf replaced. it still has the scaling issue but it works just wanting on zfactor or e-wrecked to to see them and tweak them
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/aq2ssb
and download the drivers from ati's website.

Is it normal that device manager doesn't shows 9.2 as driver version? It shows 8.5 or something like that in my system. How is that possible?

The scaling problem happens only at high resolutions, cant remember from which point exactly, but if im not mistaken all resolutions bellow 1280x***/* scale just fine.

But since most people use higher resolutions its still annoying, especially for me sincei really like 1680x1050 :(

Sorry for going off-topic, but could U please tell me how CoH performs on M17. Are U able to max it out under DX10 1920? AA? AF?

Because most of the games i play are first person shooters and at high resolutions the crosshair is a bit small :p (yes i know you can resize them usually from the console :p)

DX10 seems to be bugged with CoH. It increases my loading times (online multiplayer) by at least 30-40 secs and sometimes fonts get bugged (they look deformed)... I use 1680x1050 cause everything look so tiny for me at 1920x1200 resolution. Other than that the settings i use are mostly for 4vs4 and 3vs3 games so i dont have all of them at full. If you are mostly focused on 1vs1 and 2vs2 you can probably just maxed out everything.

You see what U've done Julian! U scared CooLMinE away and I was after Him for days to ask him that... (just kidding)

CoH's quite different. It's something between RTS and RTWG. You have to control the number of startegic points on the map that give U resources. The more U control the more requisition points U gain to buy Your units for (at the same time Your enemy tries to do the same). Its the same sheme like in Warhammer 40K DOW. Actually CoH is upgrade of the latter. They're both quite addictive in MP and best RTS games ever, although I played only DOW.

Try the demos, U won't regret it.

With that settings basically my perf. in 1vs1 and 2vs2 is 45-55 fps (think vsync if on :p) and around 30-38fps in 4vs4. Think perf. calculates the lowest fps ? not sure :p

RTWG - Real Time War Game - It's like U said 'like "you have your units" get the job done' No base building
RTS - Real Time Strategy - 'buy 100 jets and kill the enemy in one rush' and base building.

DOW will be definately to Your likeing. Its one of the best RTS ever, great MP, great rushes, great visuals and now they released DOW 2, but its more like CoH thats what I heard.

U can't call Yourself serious RTS gamer If U haven't tried the DOW yet. U've got to get the demo.

BTW and fatality animations are hilarious.

Could anyone confirm the scaling issue if I understood it properly?

Say I'm playing Warcraft III and I set the resolution in-game to 800x600. With this driver, will I just get a tiny display on screen of the game, because it won't scale up to the maximum size while retaining the proper scale?

Oh OK. The problem though is that Warcraft III does not have quick-switching command for full screen to windowed mode and vice versa. I guess I'll skip this 9.2 drivers for now.

    Thanks compwiz0620.

Ok I never saw this bevor ... do you have W7 and the W7 Beta driver?

Try to deinstall both cards via Device Manager beginning bith the bottom one.

Than just boot save mode and use Driversweep to delete the last remaing things (I mean after you already deinstalled CCC) than it should work ... but when you realy use W7 ... (I had this problem) ... may be you have to reinstall W7 and than install 9.2^^

    Greetings
