I got the same error when burning the image. What you have to do is make sure you change the option to "track at once" instead of "disk at once"

You can only burn "disk at once" with a DVD. You need to change it to "track at once" for a CD.

I have stressed my CPU with RMClock and orthos even before the BIOS flash and I didn't have any troubles so it wouldn't make any difference to do it again.

However, I do notice that the CPU fan does come on more often now when my CPU temps rise. But not too much to annoy me ;). Overall this is a good BIOS update.

Now, I'm waiting for the new thermal monitoring utility from AW to be released. ^^

That's strange, because I definitely put in a CD and I burned it and got an error as the burning completed. I then realized that it had been on "disk at once."

Either way, you are right, you need to be on "track at once".

I installed the x34 BIOS on my m15x, and the first thing I noticed was that there was a lot of popping and noise in my sound output. I didn't try troubleshooting too much, but I reverted back to the x32 from an older CD and the sound problems went away. I wasn't experiencing any CPU downclocking, or I never noticed, so it's no big deal for me.

This BIOS has nothing to do with the sound output. Did you try reinstalling your sound drivers? I don't have the problems that you mentioned.

It's not bad iElSayed. Go ahead and update it your BIOS. You want the fans to keep your lappy cool. It's still as quiet as before the BIOS update.

Can someone remind me how to update the BIOS?

I burn the image to disc (which option do I select in Nero)?
Then I boot from the disc?
    Can I use a DVD?

    Thanks

Nero Express Essentials > Image, Project, Copy > Disc-Image or saved Project > choose the BIOS update > choose " disc at once" on the left side > lower the speed setting up top to ensure no errors will occur (this is just a safety measure) > click "burn"

that's the burning part. now, reboot, and when you see the alien head, hit F12 repeatedly. then, choose the optical drive as boot device. after that, it should run the update automatically.

    hope that helped.

PS: about the DVD: you can, but it'll be a waste of a good DVD... :D

    I just flashed the BIOS

    No problems with sound
The touch controls do seem more responsive, especially volume
However, Thermofan is telling me that the CPU is now idling at 65, with X32 is was about 48. The computer doesn't seem any hotter - is Thermofan just reporting wrong? If not, and this is accurate I think I'll go back to X32.

    Found it thanks :)

Oh and the BIOS did help a lot with the responsiveness of the touch controls. Touch controls now work all the time after sleep mode. :)

I do have another follow up question though.

Thermo Fan and Rivatuner seem to be giving me different temps. Which one is more accurate?

i've noticed the difference too. Rivatuner gives me 5°C more than TF internal. i wonder if Rivatuner takes the average of internal and skin, cuz TF gives me 56 and 46, Rivatuner gives me 51...

Hmm, HWmon and RivaTuner are both the same when it comes to GPU temps but RMClock and HWmon gives me vastly different CPU temps (44C vs 39C). Strange.

On a side note. The X34 bios has enabled me to make volume down touch control function for the first time since I got the machine. Yay!
