thanks for the reply.

does the x34 bios keep your gpu fans workng on high if temps start to rise also? or does it strictly focus on your CPU DCing/overheating?
-
well, GPU temps are regulated more by the driver than by the BIOS.
-
actually after the bios update my gpu ideal temps went down.
-
Same with taco, my GPU idle temps did go down with the bios update
Touch controls also became way more responsive -
So, how is the perfect to problematic ratio for the X34 looking? I tend to not update immediately specifically to see what kind of issues arise out of something. Are the "popping" issues, and whatever else the X34 has supposedly caused, isolated? Or is this happening rather often?
There are a bunch of things, mainly the cooler temperatures and touch sensitivity, about the X34 that makes me want to upgrade. -
there arent any problems so i recommend you to update. the bios isnt even responsible for sound so i dont know how those popping sounds are coming out
-
installed new x34 bios with roswell rep to make sure i don't void my warranty and have to say it's "a must have." much more responsive and showing cooler temps.
-
AW_James said this isn't necessary.
EDIT: plus, how would we europeans (who at times have to resort to unofficial updates) do that? -
I am experiencing the "popping" after updating to the x34 bios myself.
I'm not sure which is more annoying, the occasional failure of the touch controls upon resuming from safe mode or the popping noises... who am I kidding... popping sound is far worse. Hope they fix this soon. -
that is true, just wanted a little peace of mind during installation i guess
-
All right, I guess I'll update then. The popping sound is disturbing me a little but I'll give it atry first, at least.
-
Hi! first time poster, but i am having issues also since i have been using the x34 bios.
It seems that now, my processor fan goes off completely until it starts cooking itself. Then it goes upto over 5000rpm for a second or two and goes off again
Im pretty sure it didnt do this on the x32 bios... Anyone else got this?
Tom -
Had this bios update for a few days now and no popping sounds so far...
-
I looked through the older posts, and it looks like the people experiencing the audio popping all have the T9300 processor in common. That seems to be the only commonality. It doesn't make sense, but it's there.
-
That is a good observation. Is there someone who doesn't have the T9300 who is having audio popping?
-
Oh god, I have the T9300. Good thing I haven't updated yet? But, is it really al T9300 people?
-
no popping here
-
seems kinda weird that a proc would have an affect like that on audio. Then again with the m15x nothing surprises me any more
-
I doubt it is the processor, with this small of a sample it is most likely just a coincidence.
-
Hm, ok. I intend to upgrade before the end of the week. Hopefully, no issues for me.
-
I changed my posts per page so I only have 3 pages
-
I'd really like to update to fix my volume control but I get higher idle gpu temps and audio clicking.
James - any idea if we can get an updated version to fix these issues? -
I have the same issue after updating to X34 bios, so I will go back to X32. Fans are completely silent until the cpu reaches over 50°C, than fans go over 5000 rpm and after the temperature declines to 44°C, fans stop...
I will try to send log file from Thermofan to AW support and ask for solution... -
I flashed back to x32.... Touch controls still malfunctioned when coming out of sleep. Volume bar would light up and would stay lit up and rest of controls would become unresponsive. The sound popping was unbearable so went back to x32.
Here is a link to the upload a forum member posted awhile back (lessaj, I think?):
http://files.filefront.com/m15x+x32RC1zip/;10023022;/fileinfo.html -
On x32 my fans stay at about 4200 rpm keeping me at ~44c... but seem to be running most of the time. If your fans are letting you go up to 50c cool down to 44c then kick off there is nothing wrong with that. Having your fans always run reduces their life and the operation you are describing is normal. If you were getting up to 80+ before your fan kicks in then I would be alarmed.
-
Having just downgraded back to x32 everythings much better for me (x9000) as the idle temps have gone down by about 8-9 degrees. Which i think is quite a bit better, cant say ive notced any difference between the two for touch controls etc though. (Mindyou i've only had it about 2 weeks now)
And the GPU's down by about 5* too
-
Thanks for advice, it really makes sense. I switched again to x34 bios. In stealth mode the cpu stays around 44c with no fans turning >> my m15x is completely silent when surfing on internet
And when gaming, it does not matter, as the fans for gpu are working too.
And the touch controls are much more responsive now. -
does your CPU not downclock und full load on x32?
-
You guys should also mention what you're using to monitor your temps because riva and thermofan read differently, I believe.
-
I am using thermofan
-
use everest to monitor temps, it is the best.
-
how do you know? ever compared the results with your own measurements with a high-grade thermometer?
-
so am i getting that the x34 is not a good BIOS update now? i am lost...
-
I'm still kind of wondering that myself.
And yeah, why is Everest the best? I've discovered that when people say something is the best without a reason, they typically don't know why.
-
In the end I believe that x34 bios is better than x32. At least the touch controls work better...
-
yeah but the audio popping... personally, i haven't upgraded only because of the audio popping. however, some guys have reported higher average temps too, so...
-
My exact situation.
-
well for me the update works great! all my temps went down and I don't have any audio popping. For me I like using thermofan for cpu temps and Rivatuner for gpu monitoring.
-
do thermo and/or riva use a ton of resources?
(i.e. while playing games mainly?) -
Nope, shouldn't really.
-
hey folks!, first time poster, long time reader
anyhoo, i recently updated to x34 BIOS and I too experience the audio popping. everything else is great though. -
welcome to the forum Viper, Hopefully aw will release a fix soon for those users with the audio popping
-
I update to the x34 bios for the motherboard but could not find the v41 bios for the touch controls. Where are these located in myhive?
-
Yes, they should be there
-
should be under the part that says m15x same area you downloaded the x34 bios from
-
Might I ask, for those of you that have the audio popping issue, when did you get your m15x?
-
may 08
-
Yes, since i have downgraded to x32 again i have for the first time experienced these problems with the touch controls... I was wondering if i needed to apply this v41 patch again to fix this, as it was fine before x34
So, if anyone would post a link to the download or something i would be very grateful cause im NOT going back to x34
