Make sure that there are files named MSNHook.dll, MSN.dll and parameters.dat in the LCDHype\plugin\MSN folder

I made a mistake while developing the MSN plugin, one of the two DLLs is named MSNHook.dll and Asus DirectConsole have a DLL with the same name, so there's the explanation :)

Anyway, why do you still have DirectConsole installed ?? :D

    I added couple spaces

    %If( (%Graph.GetPixel(80, 16) > 0))

and now it works, I dont know how its supposed to be but I just noticed this

Probably a copy-paste problem, thanks for your tip

btw a new version of my megascript is coming out in the next few hours, alot of new functions:

    • globally working CPU Usage, CPU and GPU temperature graphs (they don't restart when changing scripts)
    • controllable GLED light (can be turned ON/OFF with Ctrl+Shift+F9)
    • OLED Screensaver - changes into a moving clock after 3 minutes (customizable time) of idle
    • auto skipping winamp screens if winamp is not running
    • GLED lights up with music
    • few more cool screens
    • MSN screen (globally working)

..if you have some ideas what to be put more I can try it out

    Hi guys,

Pretty good work you made with the oled of our dear G1s/G2s ! :) Thanks a lot !

Do you think it would be possible to create a script for Teamspeak, showing who is talking ?
I cannot use Teamspeak overlay on my computer (G2S on Vista Ultimate 64 bit)

If so, I could try to motivate my brother to work on it.

I guess it's possible, but I haven't used Teamspeak (though I know what it is), I guess someone should write a plugin for it. Post it as a suggestion in LCDHype -> Suggestions forum and lets see if someone is willing to do it :)

Hey guys! I'm an owner of the G1S-A1, and I'm excited to see an actual use for the LED screen instead of simply showing the time. I'm a big gamer, so the FPS updater is probably the most anticipated part of the program for me (although, I have to admit, the time is equally useful when gaming in fullscreen mode). However, it seems I've been having problems right from the start.

-I am following the 8th post of this thread in which PredatorMF explains LCDHype and installation instructions.
-I followed Step 1 perfectly (and I demand a cookie for it :p) - LCDHype is now installed in C:\Program Files\LCDHype.
-However, I downloaded the driver in Step 2 and tried to extract the files, using WinRAR, to C:\Program Files\LCDHype\controller. 16 WinRAR errors come up, the first of which says "Access is denied in making this folder", and all subsequent messages saying "path not found".
-I am practically a computer-illiterate person, although I'm keenly interested in learning everything I can some way or another. What is going wrong? How can I fix these errors and successfully upload the driver?

Thanks very much for your time, everyone!
    Batman

Extract the file in somewhere other then your program files, then move it to the correct file.

Or, try starting WinRAR in Admin mode (you need to allow it to run using UAC, a window will pop up and ask you about it). That may allow it to create the files in the system folders.

Okay, an update on my installation woes:

-I have installed the driver correctly, or so I think - in Predator's instructions, he says that "if the lcdhype logo comes up, my driver has initialized successfully!"
-I have downloaded Everest Ultimate Trial Version and installed it.
-I have downloaded the Battery and Everest plugins and extracted them to BOTH the "plugins" and the "scripts" folder, just to cover my bases.
-I have downloaded the Asus G1S Megascript and extracted it to the "scripts" folder.
-I have enabled Everest to "share memory", and I have checked the CPU and GPU boxes under Temperatures and unchecked every other temperature (including CPU Core #1 and CPU Core #2).
    - However, when I run LCDHype and go to Configurations --> LCD Configuration, there's no option to select "Asus G1S OLED Display". It's simply not there.
    - Furthermore, I've tried tinkering around with the scripting process, and I've tried to apply a few of the tutorial ones (for instance, the one that shows a blinking "Hello World"), but it seems I can't find the button to make the animation work on the G1S OLED. It works fine in the preview box, but it simply won't go to the OLED! I think I've tried every button in the application and still no dice.
    - Even furthermore, I can't find the gosh-darn manual :p I've looked all through the application and searched Google.

I apologize for not understanding how all this stuff works, but hopefully when I get it running I can actually start learning stuff about LCDHype!

    Thanks again,
    Batman

I guess your problems come from one place, you don't have the OLED driver selected, that's why you see nothing on it. Below is a screenshot of what you should see in LCDHype configuration.

To have LCDHype working with Asus G1S OLED screen, you only need the driver installed in the correct folder, that is the LCDHype\Controller folder. You must have a directory named "Asus_G1S_OLED" there, inside it you should have at least these files:

    • Asus_G1S_OLED.dll
    • ddicon.bmp
    • ports.dat
    • specs.dat

Do you see your OLED blinking TWICE with the LCDHype logo when you start LCDHype ?

AWESOME. After a reboot, my computer realized how dumb it was being. Now I can use the icon in my application tray on the taskbar to switch pages in your application! So far the time, the CPU temperature, the CPU usage, the RAM usage, the battery status (TYVM for this btw, +1 rep from me :)), the CPU graph, and the sheep (!) have worked successfully. The GPU temperature, network simple, and winamp pages do not work, though. So naturally I have a few more questions:

    1. Do I have to buy the entire Everest Ultimate program in order for me to get readings of GPU and HDD temperatures (right now they read "TRI" for "trial")?

    2. Is there any way to get Everest and LCDHype to run entirely in the taskbar's icon tray? Every time I touch them, they maximize... and in Everest's case, it's never minimized without closing itself entirely.

    2. How do I set the buttons for scrolling through pages in your script? Right now I can't find any buttons whatsoever to do this for me, so I have to right-click the taskbar icon and navigate from there.

    3. I have found the DefVar section of the Network Simple header; however, there appears to be no line reading "%DefVar (N=7)". I'm going to try just adding it in right in the middle of the DefVar section, but if that doesn't work, what should I do?
EDIT: Yet again, a reboot fixed this - now the line shows up right near the beginning! This time it was a program reboot, though, not a computer reboot.

    4. Occasionally the clock in NVIDIA+Clock just freezes and I have to restart LCDHype. Any reason for this? It usually happens after I maximize or minimize LCDHype a few times.

    5. I have tried numbers 1 through 20 on the Network Simple DefVar (N=X) command. All values read 0. However, I was just typing the number in, hitting Save, and waiting a few seconds for a response, then going to the next number; am I checking for network adapters wrong?

    Thanks again!
    Batman

I know this thread really got hard to read for a new-come in this forum, but what you can find in the previous pages is (also answering all your questions):

    0. You don't need to click on the LCDHype icon to change the "screens" in the megascript, if you use the whole script as is, you can change the screens with shortcuts from the keyboard (Ctrl+Shift+F5, F6, F7, F8 etc.) which you can set as you like.

    1. Probably yes, you have to buy. There's a way to read the GPU temp with the NVidia Temp plugin (LCDHype forum -> plugins), but I definitely prefer Everest. Maybe in the future I'll change it to be Everest-independent script.

    2. Yes, go to Common Configuration in LCDHype and set the options as on the picture I've posted below. Also, place a shortcut to LCDHype in Start -> All Programs -> Startup and LCDHype will start everytime you boot to windows, it will not popup on the screen.

    3. LCDHype -> LCD Configuration -> Advanced Options . When you are done there, press the "Change" button.

    4. Believe me, the DefVar(N=...) is there, just search DefVar(N= using Ctrl+F in the current script.

    5. Haven't seen this problem, maybe a version issue. Make sure you have the latest LCDHype.

Well, that settles it... sadly, I'm not willing to pay $34.95 for a service I probably will never use unless I start overclocking, which won't be relevant for a year or so I suspect. HOWEVER, this script is still invaluable for its battery and RAM/GPU and time displays. The screen-switch buttons still are not working, and I still cannot find the manual! I've explored every menu in LCDHype and it's gotten me nowhere.

How do I enable switching of display pages, if it's currently not letting me use Control+Shift+ F5-F8 for their normal functions? Can I reset my button configurations? (I'm sure I would know all this if I had read the manual, but sadly I can't even find that either >,<).

I apologize yet again for the ignorance I'm displaying about computers. On the bright side, though, I fixed the network adapter page! It works!

Tail between his legs in shame,
    Batman

I'll say it again (3. in my previous post), open LCDHype, go to LCD Configuration then press the "Advanced Options" button, a screen (from my driver) will popup and you can change the shortcuts there.

The help of LCDHype is in LCDHype\data\help folder, just press F1 in LCDHype. Unfortunately if you are using Vista, Microsoft changed the help system removing the help viewer used in Windows XP, so probably the LCDHype help will not be available unless you install the HTML Help Control (search google)

Wow. I'm thickheaded... it was right there the whole time! I thought that box couldn't be clicked. I also seemed to skip over that part of your last post.

I don't feel so bad about missing the manual; I even tried F1, but it seems Vista is to blame!

I greatly respect your endless patience in assisting me. Even if I never get LCDHype functioning fully, it's helpful enough to have these displays at my fingertips that I am going to keep this baby running.

However, I noticed a few posts ago that someone said "the script initializes on computer startup by doing the Asus G1S screen, then scrolls to the menu". Right now, when LCDHype initializes on MY computer, it shows absolutely nothing until I manually select a page for it to display. This means I've probably forgotten to check a box, does it not? I have a feeling that this "lack of initialization" problem is also the cause of the "scroll buttons not functioning" problem (which I have reset to ctrl+shft+1 through 6 in the advanced options menu).

I'm almost there! I can taste the functionality, and it tastes gooooooooood!

    In my guide post here
I've added a video, you can on the start of the video how exactly the OLED initializes. All you have to do is set the "Start script automatically after application startup" and enter the value "0" next to it. The megascript must be started from script 0, it will work by itself from there.

Have you really downloaded my megascript or you are trying to run something else ? I really see no point on your words unless you're trying to use something other than the megascript I've written.

Hey Batman, I wrote this to monitor some of my GPU's parameters. You'll need to get RivaTuner, the RivaTuner plugin, and then add the contents of this txt file to whatever script you're using. It's REALLY simple so don't expect anything as snazzy looking. Also, you need to have RivaTuner's monitor up while this script is running to have it output to the OLED.

I've made a simple script that shows your GPU's core, shader, and memory clocks along with the temperature and FPS. It uses the same Everest and Fraps plugins needed for the Megascript and my previous plugins. It works best if your GPU driver automatically downclocks, that way you can see what causes the clocks to increase and how it affects your performance and temperature.

I use it to monitor my overclocks.
It can be installed by simply extracting and running the script as long as the plugins are installed.
    [IMG] [IMG]

Edit:It should be compatible with the Megascript as well.

They are green on my laptop, but I think I'm gonna make them red, it really looks cool :)

I have almost given up hope on LCDHype. It's a little bit too complex for me.

I accidentally touched one control - "do not clear LCD when exiting" - when I was resetting my keys to be Ctrl-Shift-1 through Ctrl-Shift-6 in Advanced Options.

Now my OLED will not display anything from LCDHype whatsoever except for the logo that comes with initialization of the program. In fact, that stupid logo gets stuck on the OLED even after quitting the program!

I have since reset the "do not clear LCD when exiting" option back to its original state, and back again, and back again, and back again... ad infinitum, but still no luck sending messages to my OLED in either setting.

Finally, I uninstalled LCDHype and erased all files from my Program Files inside the LCDHype directory, and reinstalled everything, including the plugins. The exact same problems exist. I've rebooted my computer multiple times in the midst of this tinkering, and that hasn't helped either.

In fact, after the last reboot a new problem has been occurring: every time I shut down LCDHype it leaves an icon in my taskbar's icon tray, and when I try to re-initialize the program it won't let it until I cancel both LCDHypes in the Task Manager.

Sadly, I think LCDHype just doesn't like brains with no troubleshooting capabilities like mine.

Really sorry to hear you gave up. It's not that complex as most people imagine...all you need is the latest 0.6.0.5 version of LCDHype (you MUST download and install 0.6 and put the files of 0.6.0.5 over it!), the driver for G-series OLED is included inside. All the rest is just scripting, you need to write a script that visualizes something on the screen, or you can download the megascript I've wrote....or you can find ready-to-use scripts in this thread.

You are really the first person I see stating that it doesn't work. Most of the users have problem understanding scripting, some of them can't install it correctly, others have some problems with the OS...you seem to have all the problems at once :D

If you have a instant messenger, write me a PM and we'll try to figure a way out :)

@ HighLife420: I had that problem too. For me, it was windows defender blocking it.
To unblock: go into LCDHype's directory, find LCDHype.exe and right click. Go to properties. Towords the bottom there will be a section for the file's attributes. For me there was a box I could click to unblock the program. Hope that works for ya.

    hmm you using vista?

I found the attributes, but it shows File is ready for archiving, index this file for faster searching, then to compress and encrypt.

Also, windows Defender is turned off for me.

Yeah, I'm using Vista. Too bad that wasn't the issue. Now I'm stumped...
