    hey guys,

im having trouble adding/importing a new script(5482741's 12hr clock one) i can import it fine, but then i loose functionality of the hotkeys. i followed directions and added the script as a menu and added a keycheck call at the bottom of his script. However i cannot select it from the menu nor can i cycle thru and eventually unless i refresh the initializing script i loose all functionality of the hotkeys. not sure whats going on here...

    btw predator you are awesome

Edit: thanks predator, it was easy as making sure the scripts were in order.

When you add new screen to the megascript, ensure the order that is placed in the LCDHype script is the same as the order in the menulist (in the Init menu).
Also, when you do add any new screens to the megascript, you have to re-init the whole script (starting it from Init screen), so the global variables in it get the new values.

Which From my understanding i need the asus driver for this thing, can anyone lead me to the stock asus driver for the oled. everytime i google it i just find a linux one

No you don't need any other drivers. This error comes out when you try to use LCD that's connected to LPT port, which needs a special driver for Windows XP and Vista (because Windows forbids direct control to the LPT). Make sure you have selected the Asus OLED driver from LCDHype settings.

If you still recieve this error, delete all drivers from LCDHype\controller folder, leave only "Preview" driver and Asus OLED driver.

Hmm...it seems it's the LCD module driver missing. The OLED board is actually a USB HID device, so it doesn't require any additional drivers to those present on XP SP2 and later. The HID driver is generic

In the Device Manager, you should see the LCD module as " HID-compilant consumer control device", do you have this device installed ?

Edit: BTW, are you running XP SP2 ?

On the device manager, click properties of the "Unknown device", go to details page and write here what you see on "Device Instance Id" property

This is weird, the first one you mention is somehow unrecognized device (failed to answer enumeration process), the next 3 are Bluetooth and IR devices...

Is Asus DirectConsole working fine with the OLED ?

Also, run Everest, go to USB devices and see in the list if there's a device named
    "USB Human Interface Device (LCM)"

I don't think a video could explain it better, all you need is the latest LCDHype and the Asus OLED driver for LCDHype (which is already included in the latest LCDHype). The rest is scripting, and I wonder if anybody using a computer couldn't write his own :)

I'm pretty sure it will work, I've written the driver on Vista, then I did a clean XP install and first thing I tested was LCDHype, and it worked from the first try.

Try updating the driver of the "Unknown device" you see there, it should be recognized as HID compilant device....anyway, it should return proper values for VID/PID (the device instance id I asked you to send me earlier)...
    Usb\vid_0000&pid_0000\5&15dc0995&0&6
here vid_0000 and pid_0000 means the device doesn't respond to enumeration, which happens if it's broken...

BUT there's a big chance your USB hub to not recognize the device properly (which happened with my MP4 player first few times I plugged it in my ASUS)....so, the only thing I guess you are left to do (if you really wanna use your OLED) is to make a clean install of Vista or XP :(

now just out of blatent curiousity, could the bios also be causing this? Im running 212 right now, was running 300 maybe go back in time even farther? This has been my second or third new partition without it working. If it aint the bios, maybe ill just have to slap in the original memory and hardrive and take it to the store for fixing under warrenty work

It shouldn't be BIOS causing this, I'm more to thing it's the OS.
I wonder, have you opened the laptop or try to do any maintance that could be related to the OLED malfunction ?

ive replaced the ram and the harddrive. but then again i have been meaning to crack it wide open, but the malfunction goes fairly far back in time, before i did any of that, i have also recently disconnected the oled and plugged it back in, still works just no proper driver for it

well thanks for all your support predator I just used my original parts, and did another fresh install, the first one i have ever done from the harddrive hidden partition, and lets just say, still no luck. Im getting the feeling that this is a hardware malfunction now. Many factory fresh installs, and still no luck. every road has lead to a dead end.

This computer is gonna go back to the store, and thank god i got the instant product replacement plan, so i wont be without my lappy for more then a week

Are your ATK (ACPI) drivers installed properly? To check that use some other software that reads the temps, I'm not sure which of them support X64... Options are RMClock, NHC, Everest.

If those also do not read the temps properly, then the ATK drivers are not (properly) installed.

@kojotek, in Everest go to Preferences -> External Applications and put a checkmark on "Enable shared memory", then down in the list, be sure to put checkmarks ONLY on CPU and GPU temperatures. It works on Vista x64 so it should work on XP x64 too

MSN Plugin 0.9 is ready, you can download it from here

One thing to mention, it's written both in C++ and Delphi, there are some warnings in MSDN that it may not be compatible with Windows Vista, so I expect your feedbacks does it work.

ASUS G-Series LED Plugin for LCDHype is ready, you can download it here.

There are two example scripts on the page (also in the archive), the first one is blinking GLED, the second is a GLED that flashes with the bass (when listening Winamp) :D

You can also control the Mail LED (for example with the email plugin or MSN plugin to show when you have new messages) and the Touchpad LED.
