every driver will get your clocks to 700 when using mozilla 4.0
that's from the vbios not the driver

any difference between the preview ? scurby zoom ?

 

Actually that's firefox4 using hardware acceleration.

Last working OpenGL driver for Photoshop is 11.2. Borked as of 11.4. Revert to 11.2's OpenGL if you want to use the gpu features in CS5.

 

yeah that's what i ment to(but didn't say it) and the vbios treat it like a 3D
so revert to version 3 if you don't like your clock jumping

Hey everyone. I have a quick question.

I am trying to install the mobility version listed at Chastity's website, as well guru 3d etc; but every time I go to download the files it wants to download as a Microsoft Word Document? I have 7zip installed, am I missing a program to run this file? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using Opera to download the file and so far, using the option to save to desktop instead of just running it, and using the option to open with a different file other the word, it just does not want to work.

Any help would be huge, trying to get this done asap. Thanks

EDIT--Figured it out, had to change the open with selection to 7zip as opposed to what ever the standard setting of word was, extracted, installed, good to go now

When in CCC, DO NOT ENABLE "CATALYST AI"

I have wasted days fixing an issue in BFBC2 where if you enable Catalyst AI it will cause the system to hard lock. I had done everything to prevent these crashes but I did not succeed. I had gone so far that I bought Medal of Honor (2010) to whet my appetite of DICE Games. Tonight I turned it off and BFBC2 worked flawlessy!

So far these drivers have been gravy

on mine it is disabled but when i click defaults it enables it ...

Using 11.4's and playing lots of BFBC2.

 

performance = advanced ai, quality = normal ai, high quality = disabled ai

enable surface optimization DOES NOTHING, IT'S FOR 3D screens/optimization on/off...

Went back to 11.2 resolved stuttering issues, higher temps, and CS5 OpenGL issues.

Performance hike was only on BFBC2, and Vantage scores far as I noticed. Everything plays the same on 11.2.

 

11.4 RC2 3/23 set work fine here... my last Furmark pic was with those

 

Anybody running Bulletstorm with buttery performance on them 11.4s?

And the advanced GPU stuff for CS5 don't work either with the preview drivers OpenGL set so I wouldn't say "working fine" for this set lol.

 

You can add the OpenCL using the standalone package for that support.

 

Humbly requesting some linkage for the standalone package if it isn't posted already.

 

I'm running Bulletstorm using 11.4 and having 35-45 FPS range, running well except for the one-second stuttering whenever you enter a new area, auto-save or have any loading of new textures happening.. It's annoying, no patches have been yet released to fix this issue (I have seen on Forums that many suffer from this stuttering) but besides that the game runs really good especially when playing online with 3 others where the session usually becomes a funny mess lol

Anyway, running it at:

1080p
Everything on High
AA off
V sync off

{Plugged to my 50' Plasma TV ;-) }

You should check out my thread regarding the bulletstorm cfg. You'll get your fps to 60+ and maintain quality. The stuttering will become a bit better as well. Give it a shot.

 

I did give it a shot, but it isn't at the highest settings. I have a friend with an i7-2720+460m running it without ANY stutter, with 2xAA, and Max settings, while I get random stutters here and there on the same settings.

Definitely no lag, just stutter. And I see my HDD whirr just as it stutters.

 

It's definitely something to do with loading new scenes / textures. I wonder if it's just poor porting or a hardware problem?

 

I'm not sure either but it happens to me. Didn't happen when I was with 10.8. I did a clean install of windows recently and loaded the 11.2 drivers and have a half second black screen when loading windows and also when I plug in the hdmi my screen goes black a couple times if I turn on the TV after plugging it into the laptop.

 

my brother's HP which it has 4200 mobility does that too (black screen for 1 second) but not when starting windows
sometimes when playing games , working photoshop .... i have tried changing a lot of drivers but it does it still and i haaven't found a solution

 

I tried installing the 10.10 drivers again to no avail. I'm stumped. I recently ordered an SSD-disk that I will use as a boot-drive, I'm hoping that in conjunction with the soon to be released 11.3 drivers it(mostly the new install of windows of course) will eradicate this problem. However minor this problem might be. I can't say I've noticed anything wrong when connecting the computer to my TV though. Other than the HDMI-sound not registering properly, I have to switch to the HDMI-out in Realtek HD Audio Manager manually. And that's only when I connect to the TV when the computer is already turned on.

This version even works with mobile GPUs without the need for a mod.

Appreciate the help, but it only lists Hydravision and AVIVO there now "AMD Media Codec Package".

No standalone OpenCL.

Reverted using the frankenstein driver method so I'm good-ish.

 

The newest drivers that support mobility products by default seem to working great for me.

 

Any new updates on 11.4 preview drivers?

EDIT: Sorry, just checked AMD's site, looks like the latest update to the preview was posted on the 30th with the official release coming soon.

Im using it and I have had not problems with it at all, fixes several issues with 11.2 and the slow loading CCC and also improves frames on most of the games that I have tried. Temps are not much different I maybe have dropped a couple of degrees.

The only issue people are facing is that of the BSOD when installing over 11.2 or older, this is fixed by driver cleaning and installing 11.3 from scratch.

11.4 has the fix for Dragon Age 2 though and I have tested 11.3 against this and it does not have the fix 11.4 offers.

 

I've updated to the latest bios, and tried 11.4 Early Preview, 11.3, 11.2 and currently 11.1. But I still have blurry text in Firefox 4. I've read that it should help to turn off "Morphological Filtering", but I can't find that option anywhere in the mobility driver. I've also read that it shouldn't be a problem in 11.1, but it is. And it's really annoying. Any solutions?

 

I used a mod version from 3Dguru posted by Chastity on her application post, that fixed some issues on my HD 5870. The link is not working ATM so I will upload the Drivers again and post the link on this post in some hours =p~

Thank you very much for the file, but it didn't make any difference for me when it comes to the text in Firefox. I tried to install the original old driver, and now the text looks perfect again. Maybe I'll try the last 10.x driver instead. ATI CCC still says that I have version 11.4 though lol

Did your text clear up 100% after the driver you gave me?

 

Type about:config in the address bar.
Scroll down to 'gfx.direct2d.disabled' and set to True

I'm running it now and so far no problems at all. World of Warcraft seems to run better compared to the old 8.x or 9.x driver I was using before.

well april is almost over and no 11.4 official yet...i was on 11.3 official but was having problems with black ops....im reinstalling these now and see if they improve...
