As long as it has 4xx GPU I'm getting it
Obviously it will boost gaming frame rate a little bit but what I'm also interested in is the Massive CUDA speed increase with Fermi cards.
Anyone who use CS5 for video editing should be aware of how god sent is CUDA for multi HD videos preview in real time

Another GF104/GTX 460 rumor to confuse and confound.
....I think it looks fake. -
So 14 clusters of 24, 192-bit, higher clocks and GDDR5.... I'd rather have that GPU, than the GTX 480M.
Hopefully it's not photoshop. -
A GTX 470M GPU based on that 336 core GPU would have to get downclocked like the GTX 480M so it doesn't out perform the higher model card....and we've already seen that the G11E-GS in the VX7 has much higher clocks than the GTX 480M.
Clocks are more responsible for heat than Cores so a GF104 with 336 cores@850Mhz would probably have a lower TDP than a cut down GF104 with 192 cores@1350Mhz. That doesn't jive. -
-
It's the 192-bit bus; that means either 768 or 1536MB.
-
That looks like a desktop card, so it should be better than a GTX 480m
-
I was an nvidia/intel guy before my g73. I figure I still am... but the 5870m isn't bad at all, either. I still won't get an AMD (again). Too many bad experiences. -
-
nothing useful from E3?
-
-
Other than that no, there isn't really anything of value at e3 so far and no announcement from Nvidia. -
New XBOX 360!
-
Who cares about a new anorexic XBOX..
-
I was joking bro.
-
From E3 just EA games

If the E3 news isn't related to the ASUS G53 then take it somewhere else.

Seems like initial predictions that the GF106 would be a GTS 450m might be coming true. Fudzilla is reporting that the GF104 will come out on two cards as the GTX 460 an GTS 455, which will most likely be seen on notebooks as the GTX 460m.
Fudzilla -
Not sure what Nvidia is waiting for to at least release some specs.
After hearing the underwhelming performance from the 480M GTX vs the ATI 5870 you'd think they be announcing every card..... ans so the waiting continues. -
Seems ASUS is having a press conference in Hamburg, Germany today.
Google Translate -
Yeah for ASUS.
I need to hear some news on this model soon, or I might be thinking of getting something else. -
I might just go with the Asus G73 or Clevo W860CU/W870CU myself. Losing USB 3.0 etc. isn't ideal but I'm 99% sure that the ATI MR HD 5870 will be more powerful than whatever comes in the G53. I'll also be able to enjoy my new laptop much sooner.
-
The "best" possibility for the G53 would probably be the GTX460 which will probably be somewhere on par with the ATI 5870 or a GTS4XX cars that will probably be lower then the ATI 5870.
I think it's pretty safe to say that there is no way a G53 could be better than the current G73 but then again, the G53 isn't meant to compete against 17 inches gamer laptops but rather other 15 inches with the GTX260 or the ATI5850
If you are hesitating on a current G73 or a G53, it comes down to either size or performance.
A lot of "probably" in there but that'S what we get for guessing on rumours. -
GTX 480M Review NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480M, Fastest Notebook GPU Yet - HotHardware
The GeForce GTX 480M was significantly faster in nearly all gaming benchmarks we performed with the one exception of H.A.W.X., where the chip clocked in barely ahead of the Mobility Radeon HD 5870 by a negligible margin. In every other case, from cutting-edge DirectX 11 titles like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat and Dirt 2, to demanding DX10 titles like Far Cry 2, the GeForce GTX 480M was on the order of 30% faster on average, with much larger gains shown in Far Cry 2, where the chip was up to 60% faster than its counterpart from AMD

That's all good so far but isn't the D900 using a much stronger CPU ? Doesn't it make the comparison unfair ?
-
I hope it will be Nvidia F104 and not F106. I'll like to see the G53 with i5 540 or i7 620m(2 cores) and Nvidia Optimus
-
We've already seen a screenshot, with GF106 confirmation. It will be weaker than the 460M, which means less than 192 cores, and lower bus than 192-bit.
I expect 128 cores, 128-bit, and 1GB GDDR5. -
-
In the history of ATI vs Nvidia, Nvidia has not given ATI the lead for more than 3 months.
The 5xxxx series so far has them beaten Nvidia the longest. The 4xxx series only beaten Nvidia for 2-3 months before Nvidia brought out the top dog like the GTX 295.
The Mobile GPU battle, I don't recall Nvidia ever losing to ATI until this year with the 5xxx Mobility series.
Regardless who wins or loses, just assume Nvidia will be competitive. -
-
-
yup Nvidia will be competitive but one of his weaks points is the price.
-
good news!
I dont know if you saw that(I cant follow this forum about a week) but I read some news about nvidia. im from turkey so there is no problem for me to read it but here is a google translate link.
Google Translate
it says generally that gf104 will be used for 460gtx -
-
That's it....I'm officially done with the speculating.
Fudzilla - Mainstream Fermi is cancelled -
But what does that even mean, when the same article says GF104, GF106, and GF108 will still be coming? GF100 was never touted as mainstream.
-
I get two possible meanings out of it:
1)GF104/106/108 is already an improved version of GF100 that came out of Nvidia trying to deal with all the problems that delayed Fermi launch....and the new architecture could eventually replace GF100 too.
-or-
2)GF104/106/108 isn't Fermi based at all....and we won't see Fermi in the mainstream market until the die shrink.
With either of those though what it boils down to is GF100 Fermi isn't any good for the mainstream market and Nvidia's "original plans" for bringing it to lower model numbers might have changed from the rumors we've heard all this time. The new question now is if those "original plans" were for a GF104 with 300 something cores or one with 200 something cores.
I don't want to think about it no more. I'll wait until July 12th. -

Wow Nvidia is really having a trouble with this stuff poor them, this is what they get for trying too re-brand their products over and over again and again, ATI is the way to go currently.
-
Is asus going to announce the eta for this laptop anytime soon?
-
That's what the rumors say so far -
-

ah.
cool. -

If you don't need a laptop right now i say you should wait (USB3/Directx11/Better air flow/etc) might even get the newer faster I7 quad 1.73GHZ instead of 1.6GHZ since both of them cost the same
Asus G53, the smaller version of the G73jh
