    at 13 fps...you can't tell anything.
but you know...that test pretty much said your card is working. so i retract that last statement.

    what driver are you using?

Reload the OS if you haven't done so already. Also do a power drain, never hurts.

Edit: I think we've gone way off topic into troubleshooting. Might want to start your own thread for help.

I already did a fresh install when the notebook arrived here, but I`ll do it again.
With 800/1100 I get normal score on Vantage, 8550.
    Sorry,but,what is a power drain?
    My English is awfull

Unplug battery and AC then hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then plug everything back in. That along with resetting your bios back to factory default are some common troubleshoot techniques.

Really? Shouldn't be enough power if you unplugged everything to do that. Anyway you just test for the same symptoms again after that.

This says there is nothing wrong with your video card. Nothing. 8550 is exactly in line with others at the same clock.

Screen tearing sucks, VSYNC makes it go away, at the expense of FPS. If it's smooth, run with VSYNC, if it's not smooth put up with the tearing.

Guys,my gaming experience in BC2 is being pretty weird...
The screen tearing doesn`t go away even with Vsync on and I get some slow downs (but doesnt affect FPS).
Besides, I think I`m gettin low FPS...

    No, it isn't true.

The gaming forum is a better place for your questions. Please move them there.

I do personally believe there is nothing wrong with your laptop at all. I think you're just seeing screen tearing at play for the first time. And I think you suffer from 'i want to overclock like everyone else and get the same frame rate or else the sky is falling' disease.

Just play your games with vsync on, turn off fraps and enjoy them.

Cooling system is a custom stand delivering most of the output from a window AC unit directly to the bottom of my laptop

*edit* and by custom stand I mean a little table, some boxes and some books

if you get into benching, having your own key is a must, for the time we put into it, the cost of a key is an afterthought and a silly reason to not have submitted scores haha

    What happened to yours?

Guys, I just can't understand whats wrong with my GPU. I reformated my notebook.
The first think I did after intalling drivers and some bloatware was run 3dMark Vantage.
I got only 7500 GPU SCORE,using the ATI driver from Asus disk!!
The time I got 7700 I was using 10.3 preview.
    I just can't understand,because when I overclock to 800/100,I got normal score, 8550.
    Any thoughts?

Even, can I just overwrite the drivers or should I uninstall the driver before intsalling 10.3?
    Thanks.

it is normal for the score to fluctuate a few hundred points

that is why you have to run alot of runs once you get your settings good to get the best possible score

    I know it...
When I called 8550 as ''normal score'' I mean its normal compared to other OClocked GPUS (800/1100).

    normal =/= stock

And I thought 8000 was the normal score for stock GPUs

none of these scores are normal..it's what we as benchers make of them. :) and the range is what we call normal or better than normal or non performing.

your in the performing range, but you can't expect to hit the super high numbers and your just benching your laptop on a kitchen table....you have to spend time/money/and long hours trying to fully understand the limits of your machine....but before you can even get there...you have to decide...are you going to work on screen tearing or benching....you can't do both because one cancels the other.

    ???
Maybe one problem is connected to the other!
I just reformated my notebook and wanted to check if my performance was improved,it doesn't mean I'm ''working on benching''. Besides, if my score was too lower, maybe my GPU is bad, and maybe thats the reason for tearing.
Low scores could show that something is wrong, and imply in another problems, like tearing, for example.
I'm not saying my scores are too lower, but if they were, they would be a clue.

the odds of you getting a graphics card that is defective causing it to simply perform less are pretty much impossible

things like artifacts are signs of a true hardware failure

    I don't think it's impossible to happen.
I have to check all the data I could.

I just can't understand why this tearing is happening only with me.I searched on the net but coudn't find, what can cause tearing? I know its because the difference betwen monitor refresh rate and the GPU frames, but what cause this?

The card wont perform slower if it is not working, it will just not work at all. The driver will not remap around bad cores like sectors in a harddrive.

to get the best help...the gaming forum is where you have a vast array of folks with the same exact problem your having...we are just trying to put you on the right track is all..not trying to down you or make jokes.

but umm..seriously though...talking about screen tearing in a benching thread is really counter productive since most bench with a bit of screen tearing or slowdowns...exactly what your trying to get away from :)

your best bet...and i know you are not going to like this.....but.....rma it my friend. there is just so much the consumer can do. and shouldn't have to do with a new computer...one of my 9800m gtx's did that....i tried everything but nothing...so i rma'd it...got a good one in return.

you can see if they can come out to you or have a tech in your area to replace your card...if this is not an option....then you will have to wait the long process of sending it in.

    you can try xp/vista 32/64 win7 32/64
if it does it in all of them...you have your answer.
although it appears you have tried it all....

''it appears you have tried it all'' Why do that appear?
    Anyway,I live in Brazil,making things difficult. I only tried win7 64.
Does the OS make diference? What I don't undesrtand is that everybody is using Win7 64 and have no issues with tearing...
I just reformated my notebook(ASUS recovery disk),gonna try RE5 benchmark now...
    BRB,and wish me luck!
