you sure your not in battery saving mode?

and that type of screen tearing..everyone has...(at one point or another) whether they choose to admit it or not. that's why there is video sync....

You are going to rma that machine, waste a lot of time, get a new one and still have tearing in dragon age without vsync... just an fyi.

He should have created a new thread by now. Let's end this conversation. I don't mind helping people but if it runs for pages then it defeats the purpose of the thread.

D3DOverrider will fix the tearing issues with BC2.

It's part of RivaTuner which is available here:

    http://downloads.guru3d.com/RivaTuner-v2.09-download-163.html

Once installed there will be an icon for D3DOverrider in the RivaTuner start menu folder.

Run it and leave all the settings at default, then start the game.

Will improve your FPS too :)

Wow that is fast....beats my x128 by a few seconds but overall the M17x is much slower due to the bios taking alot longer :(

Hmm, how will the performance change if we put in INTEL X25-E with Reading 250 MB / s and Writing 170 MB / s? For boot up time and Fps in games for example?

It's also the OS I benchmark with so all bloatware and unessasary programs have been removed.

It's not really going to help FPS. Your load screens will be faster. I have an Intel 160GB G2 and it performs about the same as far as boot up is concerned.

they won't play unless you have a cyberlink or tmt blu ray playing software

or you have a decrypting tool that allows you to access and play the streams directly

hey mandrake have you found 3dmark06 to be less stable then vantage for the GPU...as you can see I was able to push my vantage run to 870, but 3dmark06 will lock-up in the very first gpu test at anything over 820 or so

I tried Total Media Theater 3 and I get a Media not valid pop u or something like that. I have to say out of all the software that came with the laptop and not one will play a blueray movie is kinda annoying but I can live with that as this thing is a beast!

This is what I have experienced with my 4870s as well. Fortunately though, 06 gets a very minimal gain from GPU overclocking and mostly benefits from the CPU OC
