After gaming HWinfo shows 99-101 max but i never had problems until yet. Which laptop cooler would work fine with the G73?
Edit: Sacred2 demo 106 degree max X_X
-
so with the official release 10.3 drivers i get a max temp of 95ºC on furmak with everything maxxed on the stock clocks... after 2 hours of mw2 on max settings on stock clocks the max temp was 86ºC
this all with 68ºF ambient temps
what are the max clocks some you guys are getting
also with the AMD gpu clock tool it gives 2 voltages. 1.15 and .95 it is locked at 1.15. anyway to get it to take .95? -
.95 is the 2D settings. It automatically down-clocks to that when the 3D settings are not in use. You can flash the card to change to any voltage you want to.
-
vantage score for me

That is a nice score
-
i want higher but my temp hit 91ºC on that one... i will shoot for higher here in about two weeks -

Is it still cold outside where you are? Even 55-50f is enough to help a good bit (mid 30's to 40 give great results)
-
oh no. im stationed on guam...lol.. its 70-80 outside year round
-

That will make it harder. If you have AC you can sit the laptop on the vent or if you have an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard you can put the laptop into a freezer or refrigerator lol
Something like this -
Nice job, knocked Quagmire right out of the top 5.
Is the dead cow optional?
-
Thats awesome lol!
thanks, this was my first foray into the world of benchmarking and first time overclocking a gpu... I'm close to that second spot... haha... imma shoot for that in 2 weeks haha
hahaha -

Optional but recommended lol -
My old asus netbook i just sold had the N280 and i was at 2.15ghz completely stable... this was using a modified setfsb program i picked up from the EEEforums... was able to watch high def Hulu as well... it was fun to mess with but none of the OC programs worked properly with windows 7
-
I was really just kidding. I bought the system for my 3 year old.
-
lol good time to teach the ways of the overclocker!
-
Borderlands @107C. Also, it has turned off while playing bioshock, it hit 111 before doing so (according to the logs).
It does cool off quite quickly, I rarely *see* it at these temps, but if you check the graph out (using afterburner or another over-time temp monitor), then you can see it drops 5 degrees immediately when it's not being used.
I've noticed it doesn't get this hot if you turn AA off ... but that just goes to show that the memory isn't being cooled properly. I figure the heating pads aren't properly attached, or the heatsink isn't connecting quite right. -
hows the benching coming along....
-
Ask Asus, they have my system.
-
then benching is going great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just not for your laptop at the moment...lol -
Quagmire LXIX Have Laptop, Will Travel!
sigh, still pushing his buttons john?
-
no sir!...mandrake is a friend.
1: asus is ranked like number in the world right now. (benching asus parts)
2: they wont be pushing his laptop any where near how he would.
so no button pushing here. -
Quagmire LXIX Have Laptop, Will Travel!
fair enough then, my error

I still wish I had gotten an Asus Desktop 5870 instead of the HIS one I have. But price and availability took precedent over some overclocking headroom for me
-
Just flash your HIS with the Asus bios... Witcher flashed both of his cards and no problems...
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
they use hardware that is supposed to have better caps and such I thought?
-
HIS is a very capable card...the one i have is the bottom of the barrel so to speak.(diamond)
but just run the asus bios and over clock away. -
-
Quagmire LXIX Have Laptop, Will Travel!
Great news Drake, in more ways than one, right
-
alright, now we are getting some where!
i haven't been looking, but the a1 is a better model? -
Come on, you fell for that?
you to...lol -
ah damn!...you got me!
lol
yes sir..i fell for it...hook, line and sinker!
-
My actual status says waiting so it went back a step.
-
damn...
so...you must be getting lots of stuff done around the house now...
with all the extra free time you have on your hands..(when not tending to the kids)
side note:
take this time to perfect cooling and benching setup...lol -
I did that while waiting for the G73. Now both my systems are in for repair I'm stuck with just my work Dell.
-
what model number is your dell?
-
Latitude E6500
-
well.....
get your bench on!

too funny....I can complain now that I cannot do the default 1280x1024. 1280x800 only...Have scores for that one? lol!
-
you have a tv right?
probably would have to be one of the more expensive ones though...
because 1080p tv resolution is not the same as 1080p computer resolution. -
lol yeah, still not going to load 3DMark06 on my work system.
I did buy this, LINK in anticipation of getting something soon. -
so they gave you the slight upgrade from x1 to a1 for the troubles??? extra caddy... dam u.. i need one of those
-
My plasma is a few years old, only does 720p/1080i.
It was an April Fools joke. It's supposed to read they're giving me my money back and an A1 for my troubles.
-
nice! i remember the 256 version was that price..then shot up to the outer limits of 900.00+...now its back down to about 750.00
and it has a pc resolution...probably only 1024x768 though. -
This limited edition has the faster SandForce Controller and now it looks like they dropped it by another $20.
-
looking better!!
i dont care what anyone says...those vertex series drives are awesome in my book! -
Thia will be my second OCZ but first Vertex.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
With my Corsair X128 (indilinx barefoot) would it be worth it to switch to OCZ or Intel? Still got some change in the bank tempting me pretty hard
-
Probably not. My Mushkin is very similar and I doubt I will see any obvious difference.
