Good work Xatrekak and thx for send this pict post here.

Using a PLL app. + OC GPU in AMD GPU Control = Superior performance for this Asus G73-JH. Congratulation guy. ;)

P.S.: Please try to balance your system with A/C or some another air cooling table under your NB. I think that you take a higher score in 3DMark2006 else. Especially for OC GPU is possible to reach at least clocks 900/1250. Good Luck with it :p

i can reach 900/1110 but its unstable not a heat issue. if i set my gpu speed any higher than 1110 it crashes instantly

yea seems like everyone has different limit to how much they can OC the graphics. I get driver failures whenever I OC past 785 engine, but I can OC the memory to 1350mhz...

Just set power/performance mode in windows to high. You know, click on the battery in the system bar. Then CPU-z will register the speed of core0. Or download HWinfo and you can see all 4 cores, as well as the GPU thermals and clocks.

hey guys, sorry to jump in like this, but was wondering about your thermals, what are your ave idle temps and max gaming temps on stock clocks, also some oc temps would be nice also. I have a M15x with a 5870 just wanted something to compare to, thanks ahead of times.

    Hello,

Did anyone test Armed Assault 2 on this machine (asus G73jh) ?

they say that some battles with over 1000 unscripted AIs require lots of processing power and overclocking. would be interesting to know how dod Asus G73 perform.

    Thanks

Ran 3Dmark06 and Vantage on my new G73.
Happy to see that my machine appears to score within the average scores and doesn't appear to suffer any sort of problems so far.

    3DMark06 with twinturbo active: 12397
    3DMarkVantage with twinturbo active: 8194

In both case the GPU remained to a cool 57-58c with my cooler on.
    Catalyst is upgrded to 10.5
    Bios is 209
    Creative has been removed

This computer was really worth it :D

I'm considering getting the thermaltake cooler too. I was hoping to get the NZXT cryo since it looks like it would fit the g73 perfectly but they no longer sell it anymore =\.

    That's for you to decide.

They are just "plans" - pre-configured settings for the power options. You are free to use them, change them, or create your own plan.

Go through all the settings on both and you can decide which is better for you.

That's the default look on their DB page when submitting a score. It's always shows old score and fastest score and the fastest score is fastest of all time instead of your own fastest score.

Looking at it for a few minutes it appears they do, the top one varies from 18-21 and the bottom varies from 7 to 16 although most of the time it stays on 7, then quickly flicks up to 16.

    What does that mean?

I found what happened, i had read a tutorial on making the boot up and quicker and in that tutorial it said to go into msconfig and change boot advanced cpu number, i put it back to default and now it's showing 4 cores!!!!

In a couple of hours ill post my 3D Mark 06 score for everyone!!

    Thanks for everything,

Yes it's good. Its 100p more then i get on standard clocks. Or is yours oveclocked?

I got surprised with my computer. In Mandrakes first posts where he lists the top scores, everyone use pretty high clocks.
    I ran 3dMark06 with 775/1075 and got 13060p.
Tried 800/1100 but the graphics processor wont go for 800. The memory can go higher.
    With 775/1100 i only got 13046.

That was for standard 10.5 drivers with Turbo boost on, what program do you guys use to overclock and what's the max/most reasonable settings to use, or is to unsafe?

    He was using 10.5 drivers.

My score for a stock GPU(using stock Catalyst), cpu with no turbo was 12292.
Since my laptop is playing any game that I wish thus far, I didn't want to update to 10.5 and risking the dreaded GSOD.

Pretty awesome score benthedogtrainer, now you should get a 940 and some extra benching higher clock speed and i think better unlocked multipliers. Too bad its so difficult to overclock the graphics card on this machine, you go over 825 or near it and it just freezes when you hit apply, on Asus! Also how in the world do you guys even get the evga elitee overclock tuner? It so hard for me.

Bench's look awesome. Are they customized to the max? Anyway I'm going to be buying a Asys G73 from Best Buy here in Canada. Is there anything else I should know?

I'm wanting a laptop for a multipurpose reason. Be it entertainment, school, research (either school or independent) or gaming (as i might not take my PS3). So this is what I'm planning to do:
What I know I will be doing is 3D modeling, simulation, physics simulation, HE Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Data crunching, Algorithms, Programming (both High and Low Level), image/video analysis, conversion of natural algorithms (Image, Audio, Video into pure data), research/analysis maybe on the unknown/unseen/beyond (hard to explain ), being able to customize and create specialized functions, hacking/cracking/modifying, etc.

Hi everyone I have a quick question. I just got my g73jh-x1 from newegg and started running some tests on it. Wprime was one of the first test that ran and compared my results to notebookreview's benchmark review and for wprime they have 15.4 but on my machine i get 17.596 without twin turbo mode and with the twin turbo mode i got 17.08 so slightly slower than what notebookreview's wprime result. Is that small difference normal? What did you guys get from wprime test? I just need to know if everything is all right with my machine. Thank you guys for your help and appreciate for your time.

I have noticed on Overclock.net one of the recommendations when overclocking is to disable Intel VT-d and Vanderpool technology.

This can be done in Asus Bios.

Google search: Disable Vanderpool, lots of results for CPU overclocking

Vanderpool Technology (VT) is Intel's new virtualization technology which will let computer users to operate separate virtual environments in the same PC. One obvious benefit is to be able to run separate operation systems in a single computer without additional hardware. (This is possible currently, but involves costly hardware manipulations on the Wintel platform). Disable
