I think it's also missing some of the surface mount components too so it's a bit more involved than even soldering the connector on.

You cant only swap with 120hz screen as Maeker pointed there is more things necessary for mod to work. You need broken motherboard that was from 3D modell and very good soldering skills to make thing possible. I say its worth only if you have really much free time, good soldering skills and broken/cheap motherboard from 3d model.
My advice buy 3d model in first place :)

What do you think they have soldered in? Moonstone?
you can order any Part ... just a matter of searching...

usually there are only some resistors and bridges missing and in this case maybe the Hardware for der IR thing ... but i hope thats built in the lid for 3d Models ...

I would say you are much better off purchasing an external monitor if you want 3d and overclocking the included display if you want a higher refresh rate.

Hello, I would like to know how you did it to put your screen 100Hz.

My control panel NVIDIA display option does not exist, someone can you explain to me the process to follow?

    PS : I have a G750JM ( 4700MQ GTX860M 16Gb )

The 8xx series machines use optimus so tthe intel chip dictates display outputs. You can't overclock the displays as a result.

How can I do a BIOS/CMOS reset on this laptop?
I've removed the Battery and the power cable, removed the aluminium top with the keyboard, removed the small 3.3V battery inside, pressed the power button for 2 minute, nothing. The BIOS settings won't reset.
Anyone knows how to reset the Asus G750 to default settings?

Yes,hold down the Home key on a restart, if your BIOS file is still on the root of your C:\ it will reinstall the BIOS version that was shipped with your Notebook.

I think the combo is Ctrl+Home not just home, and it won't work because starting Asus easyflash utility requires a computer able to POST so that the easyflash is loaded in memory and executed there.
If you alter memory settings you can't POST for example any longer.

G750, G550 and G56 Gaming NotebooksThere you go then, If you look back in this thread a few months ago, there was a person in India I believe that managed to get a new BIOS Chip and solder it in? I put the question in as it been awhile however that thread went on for a few weeks I think he was having a video issue he was trying to solve

You also might want to check out the ROG forum it may have been here that we had someone that actually soldered in a new BIOS Chip

If you're lucky you can set the preference for the high performance chip in bios. But you can't completely disable it because the screen is hardwired to the Intel chip.

I don't need a new BIOS chip as I already have my own BIOS chip already soldered on the motherboard. I don't have to desolder, program, and resolder back because I can directly reprogram it in situ (right on motherboard using that ponoma soic clamp).
The problem is I just want a method to reset the damn BIOS, I don't want to reprogram it each time I mess something, not to mention desolder/resolder it back every damn time!

If you are setting something that trashes the bios like that it usually interferes with emergency recovery methods.

I have the same vertical stripes issue as wynyard mentioned, I find it very disturbing and eye straining on white background, but I can't get the Nvidia control panel to show all those options - only the 3D settings tab available for me because of the optimus technology implemented in the latest iterations of GTX870M laptops. Is there any known workaround (other than custom bios)?

You can't set custom resolutions in the optimus machines that have no MUX in them to switch the displays over (hardware switches of some kind) since the IGP is hard wired into the diplay outputs.

sepukku, sorry, but those settings are only available on the G750JW/JX/JH right now, maybe Intel will update their Control Panel software to support Custom resolution/refresh, but until then removing Splendid is about all you can do.

I don't have a G750JM/JS/JZ, so I haven't looked at the Intel Control panel options or Display Control Panel options - if there is one. But, I would make sure the Desktop scaling is set to 0, earlier Windows 8.0 defaulted to 125% which made things fuzzy.

You could try playing around with gamma and contrast - again, not sure where that would be on the JM/JS/JZ :)

If you find some tunings that help, please come back and let us know.
