What temperatures have you with gpu and cpu?

When i back home i check my temperatures but my cpu has 95 and gpu 80-85.

Has anyone actually got the vBios update to install?

Use GPUZ to check. The original vBios is 020.002.000.019.077321. The new on should be 020.002.000.019. 086018 or something similar.

 

I got it to install in mine but I sent it back I had really bad coil wine going on and huge performance drops

Can't Install VBIOS update in Asus Advantage edition (G513QY)

 

I was tempted to force flash it using techpowerup's ATI flashtool because it does recognize the 6800M but I would rather not brick the laptop.

Not the windows version but the driver start will allow the command line flash to access the card.

Was shared from a user at the computerbase forum. I order some washers and maybe i try the pads as well

 

Did the flash and regarding my 3DMark Result (3dmark.com) GPU Score is slightly worse but CPU is more stable.

I change back to my old vBios and voila back to my 122xx + GPU Score..


When you guys have no issues with random reboots or something i see no reason for the vBios Hotfix.

 

I do some testing with these both options and combine them.
for my device i have:
Orange marked is 0.5mm Pads
Red marked is 1.0mm Pads
Green marked change from factory paste to K5 pro
maybe a bit to much liquid metall in use but so far temperatures are a way better.

So far temperatures are looking good and one time i reach 12005 Time Spy Points but this result was not add to my result overview .
Anyway i think some more investigation to improve the cooling is necessary

 

Have you ever had an issue where the cpu will just drop to 400mhz when gaming ? Then jumps back up again .

Nope but my GPU drops from 2200+ Mhz to 200-300Mhz when i don't use my cooling stand. New world makes it possible

 

Just picked up this laptop on sale from BB. Love it honestly. The Asus software is actually quite good and adept at changing voltages which is refreshing coming from intel laptops where it requires a modded bios.

Already have better ram installed. Any other day 1 things I should know or do to the laptop to squeeze out some more performance? Probably picking up a skin to correct some of the ugly bits and protect it.

I was not carefully enough with the LM.

 

Ouch. That's a sore one. I've done a ton of repastes over the years, but I'm not sure I'd trust myself with liquid metal.

 

I do it several times with lm but this time i was not focused on what i did...
