Anyone has this memory Ripjaws DDR4 SO-DIMMDDR4-3200MHz CL18-18-18 1.20V 32GB (2x16GB) in use? Is it Jedec or xmp profile? i can't find something about this topic.
If this should be Jedec this could work with the G15.
@brajesh143 jesh next week i get some feedback if this memory work with the G15. If yes i would respond again and this memory would be cheaper https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-RipJaws-PC4-25600-CL22-22-22-52-F4-3200C22D-32GRS/dp/B08KSGVZDZ
Ignore this please was the wrong link.
Or i ordered it and check it by my own.Last edited: Oct 1, 2021Spartan@HIDevolution and brajesh143 like this. -

Thanks to your post, asking about the version, that prompted me to upgrade my driver.Spartan@HIDevolution and JeanLegi like this. -
I didn't expect this score with internal display.. I use the manual mode in the amoury crate and set the Fans on 100% and under my G15 is the cooler master U3 without fans.

I got this laptop a week ago and purchased the G.Skill F4-3200C22D-32GRS 32GB RAM kit and was recognized right out of the bat and the latency dropped from 86ns to 80ns with Aida64 test. Gaming seems to be smoother and more consistent than with the stock single rank Samsung memory. Also noticed that some complained that it would not charge the battery completely, I had such issue that it would be stuck at 60%, updating the BIOS fixed the issue. Also since many complained about concerns about the liquid metal TIM leaking out damaging GPUs, I opened up mine and barely had any, cleaned it anyways and used GC-Gelid Xtreme and the temps dropped by 2-4C and the fans are way more silent at idle, they don't even turn on at all, also the GPU boost says almost all the time at 2.20-2,300MHz without any throttling. Its definitively nosier than my Acer Predator Helios full AMD but the gaming performance is notably better (Between 40-100% faster), the battery life is just ridiculously better, and the CPU performance is impressive (Between 35-90%), cant complain.

Any news on the latest batches of this laptop?
Are all the issues addressed like RAM and high CPU temps due to sloppily applied LM ?
I do have some new RAM I bought earlier and wondering if this is the good faster RAM for this laptop.
I have this RAM 2x8 sticks

New model out or coming soon at BB !

It’s cheaper has a better more powerful CPU and arguably a better QHD screen.
Damn this laptop got even sweeter. Hopefully they learned a lot and fixed all the QC issues they had with the first model.Last edited: Oct 30, 2021JeanLegi likes this. -
Looks like the same Display for me.. but i think i need this new Lady
-
Any clue how many Nits the QHD has ? -
I have QHD and it has 300 Nits not very much and no calibration from Asus for this Display but on Notebookcheck you can find an icc for the NE156QHM-NY1 i think it will be the same.

The MSI Delta 15 use the same display and so far i could see this is the high quality unit from the vendor there is a second one NE156QHM- NY2 with 69 percent P3.
Maybe it is necessary to wait for reviews to be sure it is really the same display unit and not the NY2 unit or maybe another vendor.Last edited: Oct 31, 2021IKAS V likes this. -
I decided to look at an open-box "satisfactory" G15 Advantage Edition w/ the 6800M from Best Buy earlier today for $1494. Visited the store and inspected it, the screen was filthy. Whoever bought it was careless. But everything else was intact and I can always return if something goes wrong. No visible blemishes anywhere. Got home and gave it a thorough wipe down, and it looks brand new. Screen is flawless and uniform / no pixel issues. Updated drivers and ran a game and some benchmarks, no problems. Swapped in my 32gb Kingston dual rank RAM and got a nice performance boost. No thermal issues at all so far either, speakers are fine, no strange fan noises or coil whine.
For $1494 it was a steal, very pleased so far. Love the FHD screen and don't want any higher on a laptop. I've bought many brand new laptops that have terrible screens or other hardware issues. Was expecting the worst and turns out the laptop is perfect so far. If you have a BB nearby with an open box model, go and check it out, never know!

Looks like Best Buy wised up and raised the price of the upcoming QHD model to the same $1649 as the FHD 300Hz one.

*Edit- I am returning the G15 sadly. There's something odd driver related that I can't seem to fix. Forza Horizon 5 runs like crap on the 6800M. Updated all drivers and downloaded AMD drivers from Asus site as well. Even at "only" high settings it is dipping into the 50fps range at times. My other laptop with a 3070 plays it at Ultra with high ray tracing and 8x MSAA, and ultra shadows + reflections and stays above 80 fps the entire time, average about 105 fps. Both laptops are 1080p. Oh well, was fun trying it. Solid laptop otherwise.Last edited: Nov 13, 2021Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Hi There,
I am planning replacing my gelid thermal pads from vrms and vram and put k5 pro as I suspect pads creating some micro distancing and allowing less pressure from chamber into the gpu die resulting in gou hotspot peaks at 103c and sits approx 97c during heavy games and 3dmark benchmarks.
Could you please share how you applied k5 pro and how much on chokes, mosfits and vram?
Also, what's your Temps after?
Same laptop here asus g513qy advantage edition.
Thank you!Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

Also, can tell what your gpu die, gpu Hotspot avrg and max after firestike and timespy?
Also I heard paste might be better for this laptops instead LM due to low pressure of chamber ... think gelid gc extreme be good for gpu and cpu as replacement to LM? Also LM can eat up the chamber with the time, isn't it?
Thanks!Last edited: Nov 15, 2021 -
Laptop ASUS G513QY Advantage Edition:
So, last night I decided switch from LM (ThermalRight) to Paste (Gelid GC Extreme) and change the VRM/VRAM from Gelid Thermal Pads Extreme to K5 Pro, to ensure pads (Even at 0.5mm) doesnt prevent full pressure of chamber due to thickness.
Results:
Testing: FireStrike
Mode: Turbo
Temps with LM:
GPU Die Max: 70-80c
GPU HostSpot Max: 103c
CPU Core Max: 90c
With Gelid GC Extreme:
GPU Die Max: 80c
GPU HostSpot Max: 95c
CPU Core Max: 95.6c
So I lost on CPU but gain pretty fine on GPU, I Would stick to it, and can easily cap CPU temps via Crate PPT and Ryzen Controller.
For example CPU-Z 3 minutes stress test with LM CPU Core was hitting max 80.7c and now goes straightforward to 95.6c, same as this guy's:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLapt...15_advantage_edition_2021_testing_liquid/****
I guess I should just accept hotter CPU and be happy with cooler GPU ?
P.s..... if I decide try check if cpu pasted properly, open chamber will ruin my K5 pro and need redo all mosfits chokes and vram? -

Gents and lads did you have issues with the RGB stripe on the buttom of the G15? When i close the G15 the strip goes off and immeadiatly on and it looks like that the G15 don't switch to the power safe mode.
