I can't seem to get many scripts to properly work I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I want to get Overclocker Pro to work but it just shows up with no data at except ram. So now I have Everest 5.0 Ultimate Edition Installed on Vista 64.

I have it configured to allows external applications etc.
I have the Drivers for the G50vt already ready
    I have LCDHype v.6 installed.

    What could be wrong?

that is what i did on my laptop and its working.....
If you were using megascript 3.3 should be show you more things instead of "everest is not running"

You should try Everest4, which was reported better than Everest5. And have you installed all required plugins? That's important.

Vista doesn't like the install bat code. I had to install plugins with copy n paste....

Now it works I just need to switch the language around somehow.

Thanks again, to SICOPOLY and Predator for this! Everyone that sees it is blown away by it, even the non-geeks LOL.

I work for an IT company and when we go to business expos to do sales, we post this machine up and its always an attention grabber; folks love the OLED and ask how they can get one of these machines. They're so clueless that they think its custom made because it matches the company colors.

I have a G50VT with SICOPOLY&Predatory's Megascript 3.0. I deleted most of the script pages in it though, just leaving

    Code.CPU-GPU
    Logo.CMD
    Logo.G1S
    Logo.Morphing
    Overclocker Pro

What code do I need to make it go to Overclocker Pro automatically on startup? LCDHype starts and runs the first script, but I have to manually double-click Overclocker Pro for it to start. Ideas?

why did you do that???

start again, install megascript V3.3 and the in main script look for this lines: (It should be nearly on line 168)
/ Defines the default script when script starts /
    %DefVar(DefaultScript, Global = 20)

    set it to 24

Then look for this other line:
    %DefVar(AutochangeDefault, Global= 2 ) (It should be nearly on line 142)

    and set it to 0

    and thats all!!! ;)

try this and give news! :)

Pd: Predator its a great developer and start this proyect basing on a IdontKnow-machine philosophy! (maybe stated-machine?)

You are not doing something well!

reinstall all the megascript and then do what i said!
also you need everest! 5.0 or higher! with external data exported!

Its works, belive me, because i tried and its works perfectly!
    and dont delete any script!

note: If you are seing the hour, ram, batt, its because everest is not correctly instaled! or you didnt share the data!

Sweet, now I can actually use the OLED for something :D

Kudos to all the guys who worked at this, specially Predator_MF and SICOPOLY (rep+ for you two). The MegaScript looks awesome.

Asus should have done something like this when they launched the G50V... I've been using the DirectConsole thing for about 7 months (4 to 12+ hours a day). By now my OLED display has some badly burnt-in/worn-out pixels. Looks awful with some scripts that light up most of the display.

Hey SICOPOLY, can you post that script again? The link seems to be dead/has expired.

I like to see the code you used for the screensaver. I don't want to damage my OLED more.

    OK, thanks anyway.

I was using the MegaScript but there's a lot of features I don't really need/never use in it so I had to do a lot of scrolling just to get the info I wanted.

I'll write a simplified version with just what I need.

Anyway, thanks for the script. I learnt a lot from it. This scripting language is really easy to learn.

Thanks man! I'll take a look at it.

Hey guys, I deleted some unused functions from the megascript 3.3. The problem was, that when i tried to delete them from the menu it worked until I restarted LCDHype and the System.Main script fails to do something and I wind up with a blank screen.

Also, if i try to run through the logo programs, a green block pops up on the screen when it finishes and autochange doesn't begin.

    Help?

There's a small bug in LCDHype editor, watch out not to put any unicode strings (such as the spanish opposite mark ?) or any arabic/greek symbols. This had been a problem in the first megascript, I remember fixing it in the 2.0. Such symbol in comments for example, may break the whole megascript, since the LCDHype parser will comment out the code after a comment containing such symbol in most cases

Usually I wouldn't ask something like this, because I'm certain for a full 100% this question has been asked before, but since I'm not in the mood to read all 53 pages in this thread, I'm just going to ask it anyway :p
Another reason I'm asking this instead of figuring it out myself is because I've yet to receive my new laptop (G50VT-X5) from FedEx. So, I was wondering if it's possible to use Direct Console combined with LCDHype? I've read something about LCDHype having trouble when Direct Console is active.
It would be awesome if I'm able to use the quick OC features of the Direct Console. If not, guess i'll have to use SetFBS(or w/e it is called) instead.

Yeah you can run both simultaneously, it's just that every two seconds or so DC will hijack the LCD screen from LCD Hype until LCD Hype draws a screen again. So just expect little LCD glitches every 2 seconds. No performance hit or anything else done to LCD Hype or DC, though.

Yeah you can, you'll still get a blip from DirectConsole every two seconds. Increasing the redraw rate would just decrease the lag time between the DC screen and the LCD Hype screen. Depending on the script, anything more than a 1000ms redraw rate for LCD Hype is what I'm comfortable with.

    Hello,
firsts of all, sorry for my bad english! :p

Im sorry if this have been explained already, but I do have one question:

Why does my LCDHype works at the first time I open after I install it but if I close it and then reopen it, EVEREST stuff does not shows up on the OLED? I got everything that is needed checked on EVEREST. I can only get it to work again if I shut down and reboot windows and reinstall EVEREST and LCDHype :(, and it's really annoying.

So, I got my G50VT-X5 today and I was trying out MegaScript 3.3 , everything works, that's awesome. But they're are several screens I don't need ... Is there a way to get rid of those without completely ripping apart the script? Because when I just delete the code for those screens and I start the main script it doesn't show anything(it's just black).

Just move those screens you don't need at the end of the megascript (hold Ctrl and drag the script down). Then in the main script, remove the screens from the menu list (comment out the lines with / /)

I'm using megascript 3.0 , there is a problem that if the everest does not run and neither some part of the script ( and the screen display message "Everest is not running ) , are there any way that I don't have to run Everest and still these part of the script can run , Everest consumes memory ,u know ^^

Everest only consumes 20mb of memory.
On top of LCDHype and an extra margin that's about 50mb of memory total, if I'm right most of the G50 notebooks have 4GB of memory...

I'm much more concerned about the CPU usage, LCDHype uses about 5-10% all the time, which is doable, but still something :p

@Predator: Thanks, luckily I understand most of the script, so I'm editing some stuff to my needs.

Oh yeah, the CPU Usage might have to do something with the MegaScript itself... The preview bar is constantly flashing between previous screens and the current(not always, the msn status screen for instance isn't). So there must be a function or something that causes that to happen. Sure you don't notice on you OLED, but it might drag your general computer performance down.

Another way I noticed it was when I was trying to rework some of the script while it was running. It was laggy as hell when it was showing a screen suffering of this bug. While it was on the MSN Screen it didn't lag. So you're not going to tell me it doesn't make a difference. I've no idea how the dll's exactly work, so I couldn't tell if it's the megascript, the dll or LCDHype itself.

The MegaScript is a little messy though.

EDIT: Oh yeah, for some reason the script won't start when I comment out this line:
    %List.Add(MenuNames,'Winamp Bars/Stereo')

I think it might have something todo with the / in there. I tried several ways of commenting it out:
    /%List.Add(MenuNames,'Winamp Bars//Stereo')/
    /%List.Add(MenuNames,'Winamp BarsStereo')/

But no luck. It's causing an extra screen which I don't need, so I'd really like to comment it out.

just delete the line, or delete de '/' between barsSteereo and then comment it! like this: /%List.Add(MenuNames,'Winamp BarsStereo')/

the correct form should be: /%List.Add(MenuNames,'Winamp Bars//Stereo')/

@emperor1412: You should use the v3.3, i think i solved the issue of "Everest is not running" in v3.2 but if i were you, i will put everest on! It doesn't take too much recources..... :)

PD: just an info, when im playing, i put overclock pro on, and it never takes over than 5% of the cpu!!!
screens CPU usage, msn, and winamp's screens are taking more than 10% but just only seconds, you can decrease that changing the line %Common.SetPriority(18) to over than than value, 200 should be a good value!

I will check that lines in all scripts!

I'm aware of the "/" problem in the script, there's a messy unicode character left somewhere in the comments or smt, so if you remove that character the whole megascript dies. Try adding additional / character somewhere in the name of the other scripts in the menu, it's the only way I could think in this moment...this is LCDHype bug, the code is big enough so I wasn't able to find where the hidden unicode character is after a whole day of trying
MSN/Skype screens require some additional CPU when reading messages, the rest of the time they run with less than 1% CPU on my G1S. Winamp screens use 5-10% most of the time on a 2.6GHz C2D, which is fine if you count what good job it does. I think 5% for running such an useful tool is a good trade

On my machine LCDHype has an average CPU usage of 17% after about half an hour. That's quite a lot... Adding everest to that number we get 20% average CPU usage on a 2.12Ghz C2D. Don't you think that's just a little much? I mean, 1/5th of my CPU's power is going to a little OLED screen that's more of a gimmick then anything else.
Even though my processor is only 2,12Ghz, using 20% of a C2D on itself is pretty extreme for what it does.

EDIT: It even peaks at 45% sometimes, do you think it might be the megascript, or more like one of the plugin dll's that's being a resource hog?

    EDIT2:
    Did some testing:

MSN Script: Causing the 45% peaks all the time it runs.
    WiFi Connection Script: 15-20%
    Overclocker: 10-15%
    The other script: 1-5%

I didn't try out: LAN, Skype, Winamp, CS stuff since I don't use it.

How did you find that "17%" usage ?

Task Manager, Performance tab, Resource Monitor or something like that, it shows the average CPU usage of every process in its runtime.

I did notice the average has gone down to 12% by now

Task manager shows current performance for last 1-2 seconds. The CPU usage of LCDHype is different, it peaks more when reading info from skype/msn/cpu-gpu sensors/whatever and stays low when it does nothing. Task manager is not accurate for such measuring. Get Process Explorer
