I have made a deal with the tech here (after pestering him the whole week) - i will go to their warehouse and test every single laptop there to see if i can find a good GPU.

Apparently 10.7a works wonderfully on stock speeds. Give them a copy of that and hit them with it.

Does GPU-z screen shot give the info you are asking for?

I know you had your GPU replaced. Have you ever have the motherboard replaced? I wish it was easy for us to check our motherboard revisions.

Not necessarily. The card is only one component of the graphic system. You also have the port, chipset, memory shadowing, etc. Seeing that Asus also makes the motherboard, there could be a marginal issue with some motherboards, or all of them.

    Oh, yeah...

UPDATE: Installed the new keyboard, and I also got the touchpad working again. KB Lights are still out, however. :/

Here to report a successful re-paste.

Followed these G73 threads for weeks. Mine has been reasonably stable on vBios3 using CCC and setting the clocks to 705/1100. Testing with Furmark was a different story with the temp raising to 110 and thermal shutdowns with an occasional GSOD at room temp of 77^F.

Got brave today and did the re-paist with the Arctic MX3. If found the same condition as Chastity but worse. The thermal pad over one of the memory banks apparently was only in contact with one of the mem ICs.

Repositioned the pad, applied the Arctic and reassembled.

Luckly everything still works. My temps running FurMark for 10 min. is max TS temp of 87^C compared to previous of 105^C+ if it made it to 10 Min.

Running Win 7 Ultimate and Cat 10.6.

Thanks to Chastity, HellCry, ziddy123 and all others for sharing

I am soooo looking forward to repaste. I just went and checked my mailbox. No IC Diamond yet. :( I think it will be here tomorrow but it's USPS so who knows. Did you put your vBIOS back to stock or are you still running custom?

    Congrats KRF! :D
Did you do anything clever when removing the keyboard/touchpad to keep it intact, i.e. releasing from double sided tape? I was wondering if using a blow dryer on hot and shooting under keyboard to help release tape would prevent excess pressure to keyboard...

Did nothing clever, just went slowly. I did attempt to use a plastic putty knife but ultimately end up just using my fingers. It truely makes one wonder the keyboard will even work again. I dont think that one could pull it up far enough to get the heat from a blow dryer directly onto the tape, but someone can try and share.

    For those interested:
    1. Ran Furmark at 705/1100 clocks for 1 hour and Max Ts temp of 90^C with room temp at 25^C. No notice of any unstability

    2. Put clocks back to 700/1000 and at 3 1/2 min. into run, screen went black and lappy lockup. Max Ts at 83^C. Not a typical BSOD I've seen before with th vertical lines, but locked up none the less.

So, same results as others with stock clocks and Cats higher than 10.1

I'm getting great results with 10.7a. I've been able to Furmark and run games at stock 700/1000 on the ziddy v3 vBIOS.

I'll also confirm good results in FurMark with 10.7 and stock 700/1000 on the v3 vBios. Ran 90 min. without any issues! Max Ts 87^C

    10.7 or 10.7a? It's important :)

Also, UPDATE: Got my keyboard lights back! That ribbon cable has to be perfectly set or you get nothing...

CC just states 10.7 Driver Package 8.753-100706m-10250C. So which is that?
