Thank you,
I've seen that before on the web, but I'm worried because they list it for 15.4" laptops, so I'm not sure if my G72 will fit at all. Can't beat the price though. -

Just call up A-power and confirm but as far as I know they are reputed resellers though I havent dealt with them personally! Almost all sites are canadian resellers selling this bag. see if you can find a US Reseller! Its also available in pccanada and ncix!
Its always better to confirm about your specific notebook before you buy any!
I dunno but I somehow believe that ASUS brands the same bag for both their G50 series and G70 series! Ofcourse the G73 bag is different
Manufacturer number of the bag im talking about is 90N-UZZ00256/TSB018 or just 90N-UZZ00256 for your convenience!
If your not worried too much about the ASUS logo, get the Targus citygear 17 inch backpack! seems like thats the one or something very similar they use for G73!
Edit : The manufacturer number is different in both the case!
The one at ASUS estore is 90N-UZZ00255
This one at A-power is 90N-UZZ00256!
So may be u might get lucky with this one! -
Product Specifications:
15.4" Outer Bag Dimensions 13"(w) x 21"(h)
- Laptop Compartment Dimensions 12"(w) x 15"(h) x 2.5"(d)
- Main Compartment Dimensions 12"(w) x 19"(h) x 5"(d)
- Weight (empty) 3.45 lbs
17" Outer Bag Dimensions 15"(w) x 22"(h)
- Laptop Compartment Dimensions 14"(w) x 16"(h) x 2.5"(d)
- Main Compartment Dimensions 14"(w) x 20"(h) x 5"(d)
- Weight (empty) 4.5 lbs
seems like (h) is touch and go but that shouldnt be a problem as its only going to protrude by half an inch in the laptop compartment. It might be a tight fit but I read someone saying it doesnt fit(maybe that was a spoof!!)
All in all you cant go wrong the Targus Citygear 17 inch bagpack! Its made for the g73 with lots of compartments! Bigg enough! -
I bought the Targus Black 17" XL. This thing is amazing. It is big but that is not a big thing. I can fit the g73 and my wifes smaller 15" in the bag. I tcan fit school books and everything else I want. Amazing and for a decent price as well. You can find it at the egg.

-
...would wanna hear from you about the fit!!!
-
It fits in the Oakley Kitchen Sink, but it is a really tight fit and I wouldn't suggest it for those traveling through airports.
-
Say, do you know what the term "jive turkey" means? -
Just call up Slappa and send it back. They have really good service and will either exchange it or refund your money. Wouldn't mind some pics as to how close it is and a description of what you purchased as I'm still considering a sleeve from somewhere.
The Matrix sleeve has an 18" size available. No dimensions listed though. Perhaps exchange for it?
http://www.slappa.com/ptac-matrix-laptop-sleeve?sc=2&category=651
*edit* Should fit or be REALLY close. Here are the dimensions of the laptop:
Dimensions 16.60" x 12.80" x 0.80" - 2.30"
And the sleeve (17" version):
17" Sleeve Dimensions 17.5"(w) x 13"(h)
- Laptop Compartment Dimensions 17.25"(w) x 12.75"(h)
- Back Pocket Dimensions 17.25"(w) x 10.25"(h) -
Thanks for the link btw. I was just at their site yesterday and they didn't have an 18" available - and at a discount to boot! I'll wait for TWO confirmations about the fit instead of just the one this time though... -
If you want a backpack;
I own two Slappa backpacks, they are great backpacks, very well built, great customer service, and have plenty of room (they can hold two of my Gateway FX's), I would be surprised they could not hold a G73.
This is the one I own;

Slappa on Facebook
MASK bag pros:
-Huge, fits the G73
-tons of pockets and pouches to better distribute the load.
-VERY customizable
-Airport friendly (can just open it rather than removing the laptop)
-Build/fit/finish
-SLAPPA customer service
Cons:
-Can't close pouch on G73
-KOA face sticks out and artificially gives the bag more 'depth' - I may have trouble on a plane with this.
-Laptop sits flat against the back so any bending/etc causes it to sit funny.
Overall, it's a great bag. Even if I end up getting another one for travel (may go messenger if I can find one large enough) I'll keep this for other things. I have a feeling that the G73 is going to be very hard to travel with- so far it has been. -
... Can't wait to get my G73jh ... but couldn't get an X1/X2 model. Anyone have any luck selling their backpack?
-
"weened" is a good word. Consoles are for kiddies. -
*edit* But I digress. -
Can anyone post a video or pics of the g73 bag, with the g73 and some stuff in it? I'm still not sure if I'll need a second bag or not. -
-
I have the Slappa Matrix 17 inch and the lappy fits fine.
-
-
Buying normal backpack and using them ... they rip withing a few month.
Buying military backpack and using them ... have a few for 5+years under heavy usage and they still rain/water proof
They not designed to be good looking but to take any beating.
Not buying any more designer back/shoulder/msg. bags. -
I am looking for a laptop bag rather than a backpack...any idea if this one fits the G73 nicely?

could anyone please tell me where to buy the original black targus Backpack from the g73 because here in germany we dont get a backpack with it.
thanks -
I have had the Slappa M.A.S.K. backpack now for a week and I really love it. Time will tell if it works for travel (got a few weeks yet till my next trip) but I think it's a great bag regardless. Fits the laptop well (though it is a bit snug and you can't close the laptop compartment velcro "flap") and has TONS of room. I literally put everything I could ever think of bringing on my trip and still had plenty of room for more. Probably their best bag so far. It should come available on their website any day now. -
To whoever owns the Astro Scout backpack:
When the G73 fits inside, is there still room for other items? For example, will it fit 2-3 textbooks aside from the laptop itself, or will it only fit the G73? -
This is what the Slappa website has:-
http://www.slappa.com/ptac-stealth-laptop-sleeve?sc=2&category=29734
Product Specifications:
17" Sleeve Dimensions 17.5"(w) x 13"(h)
- Laptop Compartment Dimensions 17.25"(w) x 12.75"(h)
- Back Pocket Dimensions 17.25"(w) x 10.25"(h)
- Weight (empty) 1.3 lbs
And this is the dimesion of G73 posted everywhere including the Asus Website
420mm X 310mm X 18.9mm(front)-56.8mm(rear)
which in inches is 16.53" X 12.2" X 2.3"(average)
So u see where the problem is!
Either you received the 15 inch sleeve or Slappa is wrong with their dimension or Asus has written down the wrong dimensions for the G73!
So, next time think twice before you directly blame someone so directly! May be you can try out the 18 inch ones they have now included in their line up! But i still cant understand how it wont fit into this huge sleeve when the Alienware 17 users have been happy using it -
many thanks -
It's not that it's not good- in fact, I don't have one to make an opinion call like that. But if you end up buying one from someone you'll probably spend as much as you would buying a new one all together. Same holds true for the mouse. -
mmmh i hope i will find it on asuspart.eu or eparts maybe!
i saw the casecrown 17" but its out of stock and only available in usa =(
we are poor german, well I'm a poor italian living in germany -
The problem I have with the backpack is the lack of "pockets", etc...
Is there a nice large backpack (not too much larger) that has more pockets that will fit things like the mouse/powerbrick, etc... plus my personal things? -
I think someone in this thread already mentioned it but I just bought a Targus Citygear backpack at frys and the G73 fits in it perfectly.
-
The Targus Citygear, the Slappa Matrix or MASK (my vote) and the Astro Scout are some of the best choices for this laptop. Seriously, I love my Slappa MASK backpack- it actually has more compartments than I have stuff, which is kind of rare.
-
Could anyone post pictures of their G73 and their backpacks please ?
-
I am kinda surprised no one has!?
-
Yeah me too. I'd really want to know how much room they have left for textbooks and stuffs
-
In all this time, could have used the search function this forum uses, took me 5 minutes to find. Anyways, these have been posted for months.
-
I want a backpack similar to the one Asus gives you for this machine.
-
-
My XPS backpack is coming on Monday. I will definitely post some pics.
-
Thanks for the pictures
-
The XPS backpack showed up today. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834997789&Tpk=xps backpack
$34.99 with FREE shipping.
I'll upload more pictures once my batteries recharge. Overall I'm impressed with what you get with this backpack. Since I've owned Wenger (Swissgear) backpacks before, I can vouch for the quality of these. Lots of pockets and storage compartments.
The G73 fits in the back compartment. Not in the sleeve but in the main area. One thing I am concerned with is the plastic clip rubbing on the laptop because it doesn't fit in the sleeve. I don't want that part banging on the screen side so the screen will be touching my back. I will just lay a cloth over the top so it doesn't rub. It looks to hit right where the stickers are underneath. As you can see though, there is a lot of room above the laptop so the zipper doesn't hit the corners. Most other bags, the zipper rubs.
There is a covered foam bottom piece for the laptop to sit on to protect when setting the bag down. The bag does sit up by itself with and without the laptop in it.
Another zipper on top reveals a sheath which comes out to allow you to carry a full size keyboard. I haven't tried my G15 (old style) but this compartment goes all the way to the bottom.
I'll add more info later as I use it. The back padding is the same as one of my other Swiss backpacks so I'm sure the comfortability is the same (which it is.)
On with the pictures!
My full gallery of the backpack can be found here. As I said, I will be adding more pictures shortly.

Thank you for the images.

Overall, I have been very impressed with this backpack. I do have one problem with it. On the underside of the carry handle, the cover material is fastened together with a zipper. On my pack, the zipper pulled open and there is no slider on the zipper to re-close it. Anyone have any experience with this problem?
