People who have gotten the A2 version say it is 1333Mhz.

    The price is rising.

I have talked to NewEgg about this before and they have an algorithm that begins to raise the price as they start to sell out.

So - you are getting close to a LAST CHANCE.

    Rising Price = Selling Out!!

Did you call them? When I called this morning and ordered they told me the total shipment was about that big.

There is NO WAY they have 100 left after today's sales.

Watch rising price = sold out - they probably have about 10-15 left!

I am so excited for 10AM tomorrow I will post picks and give a full review.

Also I will post pics of my mods to help others. who want to turn their X-1 into an A-1 like me. The hard drive will be easy, the BD drive may take some work.

Well, you can add 100 to your cart with no errors and apparently it won't let you do that if there isn't sufficient stock.

I have experimented and 100 is the default maximum order quanity for many different items making it meaningless.

I think the computer just stops you at 100 no matter what and it has no reflection on actual stock.

Try it yourself - pick another computer and try to buy 300 and it will say 100 is the maximum order quantity.

Pick a part and try it - same thing.

That message and 100 limit is universal and is meaningless IMHO.

    Yes, 100 is the max.

If, say, they only had 50, then 100 would throw an error.

    Mine shipped :)

Guess what? My cart had 100 in it an hour ago and now there is 93.

So I'd say that cart method is dead-on accurate. It's almost realtime now as I can refresh and watch my cart go down. lol

Well, I fat fingered my credit card information and by the time I got it corrected, looks like I missed today's window. Oh well, it'll ship out tomorrow and I'll have it Thursday looks like. Kinda hurts on the extra shipping cost though.

I'll be interested in finding out if people get the backpack and mouse. Please holler cuz otherwise I'll need to order one as I don't have a bag big enough.

LOL at first review posted for the A2 on Newegg. Some people really fail at reading comprehension :D

*****I hope the specs are wrong

Pros: Core i7, 8gb of DDR3, 1TB hard drive, 5870. All of the specs are pros.

Cons: Listed on Newegg as only a DVD super Multi but elsewhere is listed with Blue-Ray...Didn't see this when I purchased it.

Other Thoughts: I assume Newegg will be getting the same models and specs as other distributors and I went with newegg because I have been one super satisfied customer. I hope this Blue-Ray problem doesn't change that. I will write a more extensive review once I have this in my possession on Friday hopefully at the latest.

Yeah, also seeing shipped without a tracking number...that's pretty typical in my experience with them though. You'll get a tracking number at like midnight tonight. I really hope this snow doesn't keep flights out of Northern VA...or FedEx away from my apartment, haha.

This always happens with newegg. They will update the ups tracking overnight. On the other hand, most commercial flights are delayed or canceled heading to the NE, so I imagine Ups/Fedex would be the same... :( :(

No reports on the service bulletin.

    UPS posted Virginia issues.

Although, Fedex is worse - they are having Memphis hub issues and that is where pretty much everything gets routed to.

Just put the X1 in your cart, change quantity to 100, and then you'll see an error and your quantity will re-adjust to whatever stock is left.

Nope. All of these are in Cali.

When these x-1 start coming in can someone go over how to move your operating system to a new SSD drive. Obviously I could do it with a complete windows 7 CD, but how do you do it with only the restore disk.

Thanks in advance for any help.

.....I don't consider a missing BluRay drive and missing HDD THAT big of a loss for $200 less. I didn't plan on keeping the second HDD in it anyway, and I don't own a single BluRay disk.

Just to be clear the differences are,

    Negatives:
    1. No bag or mouse.
    2. No blue ray
    3. One year less warranty
    4. One less 500gb hard drive

    Positives
    1. $200 less for x-1
    2. Receive up to 2 months sooner

I can see both sides, but you can't argue with the 2 months and $200 side for sure. Also the 2 months are worth more than you think since computers are worth less and less each day due to new technology. :D

Just boot with your recovery CD, format the partition where the OS is instaled and choose your new drive for a clean install. (do not delete the partition where the recovery files are)

Those are only worth the extra money if I need or want them. I don't need the bag or the mouse for sure. Both these would of gone in the garage.

The blue ray is the one place that might be worth the wait for me, but if I am desperate for one in 6 months or so I could add it. I just don't own any blue rays so I can't see the need currently.

The warranty is always a gamble. We won't know for years if that was worth it or not.

Looking at the G72 A1 and X1 on newegg, I can infer that the only difference is the bag and mouse, BD, and HDD space.

    Warranty is the same ;)
