Personally, i never saw that happen, i've been blowing dust through the vents with the occasional disassembly and even after 6 months of just blowing in the vents there were no dust bunnies inside the laptop itself.
It can happen, but it's not 100% guaranteed and the amount of dust in the laptop will have an impact on that too.

Yep no question about. Some compressed air once a month will keep temps down and delay having to repaste or do a deep cleaning.

I dont know if I'm doing something wrong but I blew air into the vents using the straw-like attachment, note that the straw did not enter the vent due to the grills. so i just sprayed from the opening. no dust flew out, and temps stayed the same (Mem temps hit high 90's while gaming)
Also note that I've had this laptop for 2 years, so its bound to have some dust in it. (our house isnt exactly dust-free)
Any suggestions? -

If it still doesn't work, maybe your thermal paste has degraded significantly and you may need to re-paste soon. -

This is nothing new.
The BEST way to do it on the ROG laptops is a 3 step process.
1. First vacuum out the back vents. Don't hold the vacuum close to the vent your just trying to get the easy stuff first.
2. Use an air can to blow out vents
3. Repeat step one with vacuum intake closer to vents to try to suck anything that step 2 blew inside the laptop.
This will give you the best clean.
