Newegg, amazon, gentec, and all the other retailers shouldn't have tax in your state. Costco probably will if they have a store in the biyou.

I'd recommend the G73SW-XN2 which was $1169 a week ago, now it is $1250. Call newegg, tell them it shows $1169 w/free shipping in your shopping card, but when you go to check out it is $1250, they will see the old price in the system, then they will tell you to place the order $1250, then they will change the order price to $1169. I did this several times when I added items to my card, but couldn't make up my mind before the price went up. Their phone people cannot generate new orders, but they can alter current ones.

At this point though you might as well wait for the G74, why not see what is going to happen this coming week.

So, I will have to pay ONLY 1249$(or as you said 1169$) and that's it!! no 7% tax and no blablabla.. ONLY the 1249$(or...)

right? (And G74 will have almost the same score in 3d 06 like G73....)

    Edit:

WOW THE G73SW IS 20 INCH SIZE!

    20 inch = 50.8 centimeters

I dunno bout tax as i dunno where u live or what your laws are from the UK I declared it as 25% the worth when it was imported. $700 £400 and after conversion at the UK tax rate it was about £15. That was it. :D

Dont get me started on the G74 price vs power vs buck for the ability to say look I have a newer model than you for $600 more is pathetic and its not worth it.

    20 inches is a worthy size :)

You will have to pay taxes if they ship from the same state i think. Check the FAQ on newegg, i'm pretty sure it's all there.

Tijo is right I guess though initially I found it weird. I have crossed checked with gentech guys. They are located in CA, so taxes(around 9-10% collected by gentech) apply!
So, check out the locations of the vendors on their website and if they are in your state ie CA, then I think they mostly should be collecting the tax as quoted above unless they directly ship it from any other state...

As of now I can see only the 6GB and 8GB ram difference b/w the two which I think you also would have noticed.
I do not think they should be able to change the number of ram slots(which is a standard four in number for G73)

Please DO NOT get carried away by the low prices given at different webites like newegg, best buy, etc.
I would want you to compare those models with the regular ones in detail..

I would never buy a 15" screen with 1080p resolution unless you think the thick-framed glasses fad will stick around for a while yet.

Personally I ordered the G73SW-A1 for $1500 after $100 rebate, but if the one on Newegg works for you, I'd say go for it. The more I read around the forum, the more I think I will be quite happy with my purchase.

My only concern is I wonder whether I should have stuck it out and waited for the G74 to be released. The G73JW is now $200 cheaper than the G73SW, so I wonder if there will be a similar price drop. Then again, the G73SW is already some $200 cheaper than the G74...

Haha, that's not what I meant! I meant that the G73SW is already $200 cheaper than the G74! I'd just buy it now. Especially if you are getting the cheaper models from Newegg or Tiger Direct, I think they'd probably go out of stock before the price drops again. And as for the more expensive models, there is a $100 rebate on the A1 package for orders placed in June.

I buy from Newegg this one:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230027
    For 1099$.

I will upgrade the RAM to 8GB, And Add SSD 120GB (intel 510 I think), Windows 7 Ultimate, and Intel N-6300 wireless.

What do you think? good price? deal? upgrades?

I MUST TO KNOW NOW, IF I BUY TODAY FROM NEWEGG WITH PAYPAL, WITH THE "UPS Guaranteed 3 Day -- 0.00$" shipping, I will get the laptop in 3 days EXACTLY?

Waffleboy, Did you contact any of the etailers recommended here to see if they will price match? I know I would be very unhappy to get my machine from the eggers and have it fail out of the box!
The beauty of these guys is they will unbox and test before shipping to you. I am sure you have read some of the RMA horror stories posted here.
Also if you go with the eggers ask if they will throw in the RAM or add any other freebies.
I recently ordered a high end clock radio from tigerdirect and got a great pair of headphones as a feebie just by asking! Best of luck with whatever U choose!

The screen will be too small for real gaming... I had the ASUS XT52 with a 15.6" screen and returned it for the G73SW.

I got displaced from my condo and needed a laptop just for internet use. I already have a gaming desktop in the first place but too heavy to bring to the motel / inn. Hence I now have a gaming laptop. Desktop gaming is history for me now :) Gaming laptop is awesome.

Trust me, what's the point of upgrading if you have a small screen. A small screen is for internet use only or for a temporary PC replacement.

I don't care, I only care about getting the laptop, and the warrenty with it.

I will connect the laptop to a 32INCH LED FHD... so I don't care about the size.

What about my question about the shipping?

If you're going to connect to an external monitor doesn't that defeat the purpose of portability?

You could do that with a desktop with the fastest SLI or X-fire for less than $900 and have the fastest GPUs'..

My experience with Newegg is that they have been pretty good with their shipping estimates in the past on any of the parts that I have ordered. Keep in mind, you do need to allow some time for order processing so it is unlikely it will be exactly 3 days total.

And count me in for some waffles!

Depends on exactly where you live, I tend to get everything in 3days from newegg, but I also live in Texas so I'm pretty centered on most of their warehouses. Which can come from Cali, TN, and NJ.

I need them to ship it to NYC to my friend's house. So in 3 days, he will have it in is own house, right?

(If xoticpc could make the same price, I would buy it right now from them!)

No one here could give you a definite answer, but if it ships from NJ or TN I see it getting there in 3 days once it ships. Like Brett@XoticPC said, it may take time(usually about a day or less, though no guarantee) to process the order and get it to the shipping stage. If you're really concerned about it getting there in 3days, call newegg and talk to them about it.

Oh, didn't know you couldn't call :\(email?). I haven't tried the 2day shipping method yet, so I dunno. If it's anything like Amazon's prime method then it should get there in 2days no matter where it ships from. Hopefully someone here has experience with newegg's 2day shipping, to give you better input.

Glad to see you've finally decided on something, I understand the long process of making a decision, in the end you just gotta make one and stick with it. Your upgrades are nice, maybe switch out the 6300 for a 6200 since there is only 2 antennas and the 6300 needs 3 to get its full benefits. You will definitely see the laptop scream with a SSD, I was getting minor slowdowns with just a hdd installed, now I never hiccup. :>

Hit up the G53SW Owners Lounge while your waiting for it to come.

If it ships from Edison, NJ, you will have it in NYC the next day. You place your order, give newegg 24 hrs to process it, and 1 day for shipping.

Order Monday, get it Wednesday. If you order it early enough, it'll ship same day.

I just went to the model link that you are buying from newegg. I hope you are aware that they are just giving 1yr accidental damage warranty and not the standard 2yr warranty+1yr accidental..
Anyways, good luck.. I'm happy that finally you have narrowed down to something... :)

The G73 is actually a tad HUGE if you'll carry it out all the time; But it's perfect for me, for now.

I know I might get one with an 18.4" LCD with SLI for my next laptop and give the G73 to my mom.

A G74 has a 17.3" inch LCD/or matte screen. I want something like an MX-18 with 18.4" lcd screen. I lost interest in desktops already, don't like external screen either, I'm a minimalist now :)

just a quick note waffleboy, if you purchase from newegg and then a week or two later it becomes cheaper, you can always ask them to pay back the difference (in your case you bought for $1099 but it has become $10 cheaper).
