    HI all :)

Just some questions before I BUY this beautiful machine:

    1) What is the difference in performance between the hybrid drive 500 GB and the normal drive 750 GB?

    2) What is the benefit choosing 3D 120 HZ version?

    3) If I don't choose 3D 120 Hz can I then tweak me display to 120 HZ from the 60 HZ on the G74SX?

    4) I have some extra 3D glasses can I use them at all - if i get the version without 3D?

I think i remember hearing the GTX 570 is a MSI exclusive. The MSI GT780DX is looking nicer and nicer at just over $1500.

    1) You'll have faster boot times.
    2) 3D gaming w/o using red/cyan glasses, looks better. Also the 120Hz panels are brighter and matte, so better to use with reflective light.
    3) If you don't have a 120Hz panel, you're limited to 60Hz.
    4) You can do 3D on non-3DE machines, but only in red/cyan mode, and at 30Hz.

Will the G75 have a better GPU by any chance? I mean I'm sure it'll be name bumped, but any better? (Although actually doing the math, the GTX 560 isn't as big of a jump down from the 570 or 580 as I thought...if I'm remembering right the 570 was only about 20% faster, the 580 60% faster...better, sure, but not the GIGANTIC leap I'd thought it was, since the 560 was clocked a lot faster than the 570).

I gave up looking at Clevo when multiple people reported you couldn't use Nvidia's regular drivers on them. Was kind of iffy about Clevo anyway, but...

praetorianx I am waiting for the refresh this year, I read KB Back light and optimus will be on board, but will not make the mistake of a pre-order like I did wih the G73. Will wait at least 2 months to see some real user reviews.

I've heard Optimus is usually disabled on high end gaming laptops because it introduces microstutter sometimes in games.

If the G75 will really have Optimus, then it could be a disaster. Also i hope they make the GPU replaceable on it. The only real drawback of G74SX is the soldered into the motherboard GPU, killing pretty much any chance to get to the next level of gaming performance (GTX580m, AMD 6990m).

Unfortunately it seems like it's on most systems-even most of Dell's M17x-R3s, unless you pay hundreds extra for the "3D" screen. (Not sure about the M18x...I thought it had it, now I'm not sure)

That was actually the main reason I went with a G74 over an M17x-R3 last year! I want that Intel garbage video TOTALLY DISABLED. Ugh, ticks me off they're blowing 200 million transistors on that, when that could be a fifth core, or a ton more cache....
