No, you are going to contact Mason@Asus, and he's going to help you arrange for a RMA in Brazil.

Never mind still freezing really running out of ideas to try and fix this.
Tried every driver I can think of
BIOS update
VBIOS update
Graphics card drivers
Uninstall Creative
everything
I might try that processor idle hack if any one can tell me if that fixes the problem. -
Ok! Thanks Chastity! I registered on the asusrog now I am looking for mason to ask him!
@sbman: we are on the same... Ive tried a lot of things, now I am going to try to update the bios, lets see if it helps, but I dont have too much hope... -
I don't think it is bios related my current theory is that it has something to do with C++ eater 2005, 2008, or 2010 i'm currently reinstalling all of then and see if it helps.
-
If you have any success please let me know, I made the bios update and stills freezes... I have no more ideas
-
which bios are you people running? Did you face any problems after flashing bios like losing your keyboard backlights or anything? I'm asking cuz i want to flash my bios But I'm scared of bricking my computer and RMAing would be next to impossible and the Asus service centre guys wouldn't even know how to open up my computer cuz I'm in kerala, India.
-
I'm running 213 for my JH if you have the JW then don't use that bios
it isn't that hard to install just get a good flash drive drip the bis files on there go in to bios upgrade in in BIOS select the file and step away and don't touch the laptop. -
Yes. But what if i brick my laptop? Trust me. India is one of the last places you want to be in if you brick a computer, especially an Asus cuz the service is as good as non-existent here. If i somehow manage to brick my computer or if i lose my keyboard lights, I'm left helpless. The problem I'm facing now is trackpad issues which require a bios update.

@sbman: any news about what you were trying to do? -
well theirs not much i can tell you then other than you have to risk it if you wan to update, your less likely to brick if you use the BIOS level utility than the windows one.
-
I know sir. Forgive me for being so scared. I so wish the Asus people here were competent. I wouldn't have thought twice afford flashing then. But that is not the case. And i want to open up my laptop to remove the tape below the trackpad to see if it helps but again not very confident.
-
I guess there is no solution, I am going to use my rma...
-
Chastity, do you know another way that I can talk to mason? He isnt answering my messages on asusrog hehe
-
it's the holidays... maybe he's on vacation

Hello Guys!
Glad to know that im not alone on this!
Here is another Brasilian guy that brought a G53SW on amazon that loves to freeze!
Not happens at the boot time, dont appears any blue screem, just freezy, sometimes the laptop turn in slow motion for a time and unfreeze... Usually freezes when a use MSN webcam or skype for a time, or play a game (not everytime). NOT IS HEAT PROBLEM!
I really dont know what i can do... Already tried to put another video drivers and made some SSD tricks, but nothing....
Configuration: G53SW + SSD vertex 2 + 8gb ram
Helllpppppppp!!!! -
Well So far my fix to reinstall all C++ versions seems to help me 3 days and no freezes yet. I uninstalled 2005 C++ but others say 2008, I would try all of them and see i it helps.
-
I remove all C++ version from contral panel!
Opened my webcam in 720p + 2 pages of XXX cameras ( LOL) + a mkv + play dirt 3 + opened utorrent (always freezed with that) ALL PROCESSES TOGETHER for about 1 hour and NO FREEZY!!!!!
Man im afraid to say yet but i think that works!!!!!!
Lets see tomorrow cuz need to sleep now!
For now, thx so much! -
sbman, let me see if i understood, you reinstalled all the c++, the 2005, 2008 and 2010?
-
I uninstalled each set one at a time, testing for freezes. I was originally told 2008 would fix the problem but reinstalling 2005 fixed the problem for me it seems.
-
Nice to know! I will try that! Hope to have the same luck
-
I tested with 2005 2008 and 2010 isntalled and didnt work, now I am going to let just 2005, let see what happens
-
did you make the windows update on c++ 2005?
-
First freeze today...
If i open Webcam using skype or MSN the G53 freeze!!!
Still without any C++.
No freezes when browsing at internet or using msn without cam. -
I installed 2005, played almost one hour (it usually freezes with 15 minutes),, but it freezed again...
-
Webcam bug freeze fix for now.
Things that i made today:
Unistall microsfot C++ all version
Remove and reinstaled webcam
Remove and uninstall not need or unknow programs
Remove and revised most G53 drivers from Asus website.
I saw in my Device Manager that i had one bug in wirelles driver, together with atheros i found something like microsoft wifi or something.... Remove Atheros e installed again.
Test one hour webcam with a friend and everything is working now...
Lets see.... -
I have installed all windows updates from c++ 2005, 2008 and 2010, framework update, anyway, nothing solved. I guess now I am going to unninstal c++2010 and if doesnt work again, I will unninstal c++2008 and lets keep trying...
-
chastity, is there another asus member from asusrog that I could talk about my rma?
-
there's also Brian@Asus
-
I will try to send him a message, thanks again for your attetion and help chastity!
-
Just to confirm...
After more than 24hrs using my G53 i think the problem is solved.
I unstaled all C++, revise all driver from asus site.
Install Intel Rapid 10 driver for my SSD
Fixed the wifi driver (most important i think)
NO FREEZING ANYMORE!!
thx guys! -
two days with no freezes on my notebook, but I just find out a display problem on my notebooks monitor..
-
3 days with no freeze!
what I did: reinstalled all c++ , 2005, 2008 and 2010, made all the updates, installed all windows update, and installed framework with updates, too. On the first day that I did all that stuff it freezed, but now isnt freezing anymore, actually I dont know what changed, anyway, I guess I have to test more. -
freezed today on portal 2. Problem not solved.
-
did you update windows form the patches on Tuesday?
Mine started freezing again after updating. -
I am doing all the updates, thats weird!
-
Ive being doing*
-
nobody from asus help me, I tried to send an email by contact form and I got no answer, I tried to register on asusrog to talk to any asus staff team and nobody answered my private messages or my topic, its being really hard.
-
Why don't you PM me a detailed description of your issues, and a list of what you have already tried, and we'll get this banged out.
-
I am testing my notebook with two games: team fortress 2 and portal 2. On the last week, just freeze on portal 2 and nothing is happening on tf2. (Before I made all windows update, c++ update, it was freezing on tf2 too). Does it means something?
-
freeze on portal 2 keps happening =/
-
2 weeks without freeze... uffffff
I think i have one laptop now... -
what did you do after you said freezed again with windows update?
-
team fortress 2 is freezing again...
-
At the moment trying to figure out why it is freezing....
-
I see... this video freezing is bothering me a lot... I dont know what else to do.
-
New Idea, you sain that you have had TF2 and Portal 2 Freeze, well my new therry is that this freezing might be related to steam running....
-
Or having a browser open when gaming, especially one with a video or flash on it, and your browsers having hw accel enabled.
-
Its not... it freezes on portal 2 too... and it has already freezed when just the game was opened. Its really weard, on the last two weeks i played tf2 with no freezes, now its freezing again almost all the time, and I didnt change anything on the computer. I really dont understand what happens.
-
What else are you running while you game? And I mean EVERYTHING.
asus g53jw freezes when playing games! help plz
