Could be, sometimes heat will do it, if you run with the lid closed driving an external monitor, or if it comes out of sleep with lid closed in backpack.

    Photo?

Hard to see for sure, I can kinda see a border of dark / lighter if I slide it back and forth, but not coming through clearly in the photo.

Maybe you can figure out a way of using brightness / contrast in Nvidia control panel to balance it out?

Anyone with the 1070 version get a Delta 230w power brick? I just got one open box and I suspect someone pulled the ole switcheroo.

Have fun getting it swapped. Took me over a month and cost me $300 to get an extra brick for my unit.

Well first they had me buy it else where bc they couldn't provide me or sell me one as they had none in stock to sell. Only place that claimed to have one was in Germany. The brick was expensive $150 range. The one they sent was fake. Asus finally sold me one through rma dept. for another $150+ so yea took hours upon hours of my time and more than a month to get a hold of one.

Darn, you could have lead with that info, and warned everyone earlier, like when it happened...

So what did they send you? An empty box, a brick, or the wrong PSU? Was a working PSU of some kind or a total loss?

Did you ask to return it? What did they say?

Wrong psu from China took 3-4 weeks to arrive and the Chinese sheet it came with said it was worth $10 lol. No way I was gonna pay to ship it back.

Took a while to find the receipt lol

Do you have it? Maybe post photo's and model / SKU info, what is it and what was it intended to be used on?

It's a new laptop, and a new PSU, I would think it possibly an innocent mistake rather than a purposeful fake.

I've been shipped wrong parts before too :)

What are we looking at which one is which, which is the right one and which is the wrong one?

If you paid $158.99 and got the wrong PSU, I'd still follow through and tell them you you tried it and it's the wrong one. Do you have the right one in stock? And, then give them a photo of the data on the PSU - not the logo side with no info - why photograph that?? - and write down the model and other pertinent info so they can verify they sent the wrong one.

You might end up getting 2 spares, and "almost" full value for monies spent. :)

BTW, they may just ship you the right one and not require you to send the wrong one back, that's common with China purchases as well. They know it costs too much. They likely valued it at $10 to avoid customs charges (at both ends?).

You sent the wrong PSU bought from a Chinese place to Asus, without telling them, thinking they would do what? Say "hey, you sent us the wrong PSU!!", as they would know better than to accept it too.

You are a funny guy, but it's not helpful to do these things is it? It just keeps confusing and messing things up, right?

So how did that mess work out? It ended up costing you $500 for a $158 PSU, but what were some of the more amusing details?

You had a photo with the model numbers with whose discussion or conversation? Asus, or Chinese adapter company?

Can you find it and post it here?

You don't know if you got the refund from the Chinese adapter company or Asus, or the German company? Somehow you spent $500 for a $158 batter, but may have gotten some back?

So is Asus now selling the PSU, is there a link or part number you can share that people can use to order themselves one?

Maybe I'll just stick with the generic one. Doesn't seem to be worth all that trouble.

I'm also interested what that second adapter in the picture was. It looks kinda like the Aorus one. Hard to tell through the plastic.
