    Hey,
i just disassembled my UL30VT, because of temperature.

Because it's my first notebook which i opened, i'm a bit confused.

There are 3 "things" on the thermal copper pipe:
1st one is for the NVIDIA Gpu with 2 Gpu Memories?
The one with the a screw in each corner is the CPU?

And what is the last one? Can anybody give me a hint?
The last one which i don't know for what it is, had a thermal pad on it. Is it possible to replace it with paste?

    Thank you very much

    Hi!
I lost my dvd with drivers, and drivers from asus site are ty... Second card is not working, BSOD appear very often...

Maybe someone can share original drivers?
I need an ISO file of original disc. It could be through dropbox, onedrive, torrent - doesn't matter.
(I found some torrent links from legal torrent in this thread, but there are no seeds...
OneDrive - 1st part is blocked, it cannot scan file, and I cannot download it anyway)

    My computer: Asus UL30VT-QX002
    Win7

    Thanks in advance...

Thank you, you will save my laptop :)
I also ask about some advice at ASUS service, but I see that there are some problems with new drivers. When I get an answer, I'll submit it here.

I wonder if anyone still shows up here, but here's one huge issue with my old UL30VT: if I change manufacturers presets from hibernate to sleep (e.g. when closing the lid), the system intermittently wakes up without touchpad, both with built-in Windows driver and the Asus-supplied ELAN driver -- it just disappears from the system. Happens on win 7 and win 8.1 enterprise alike.

External mice work, keyboard works. Fn toggle doesn't help, restarting doesn't help, booting into linux (thumbdrive) doesn't help. What helps is shutting down, removing the battery for a few moments and then restarting. 211 bios. I discovered it getting an SSD and using sleep instead of hibernation. Highly doubt this thread is read anymore, but any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Any of you still using this laptop?

I want to upgrade to windows 10, but Asus unfortunately hasn't released a driver for the G210m graphicscard. An upgrade tot windows 10 is out of the question without it.... such a damn shame :(

Did anyone find a work around?

I was still using it, although my screen cracked so now I'm trying to find an upgrade for LCD to something higher res. Does anyone know if this has this been attempted?

I'm also interested in upgrading to Windows 10. Hopefully the dated specs can handle it. If not, I'll end up chucking Ubuntu on it, or some other linux distro.

    Well good and bad news.

Nvidia added support for the G210M http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/87987/en-us

Problem is that this driver does not support hybrid technology. The driver will not install on this laptop for that reason. An upgrade to windows 10 won't work, but maybe it's possible to use the old driver in compatibilty mode?

    Any ideas?

Hi, happy asus UL30VT owner here as well, but it seems that at this point WIN 8.1 is the only option. Windows 10 could be option in the future with NVidia willing... Tried to day the new 29.7.2015 released drivers for 210m GeForce, but installation was interrupted with message that driver is not compatible. Installation software has built in detection which stops installation if hybrid or incompatible graphics chip is found.

    What a shame

Well, happy to say that Windows 10 is working nicely now on my UL30VT (without the G210M).

Upgrading with my current installation was not an option nor was it to format it and just go all the way. So I did this:
    • Grabbed my old Vertex 2 drive and put it in my laptop
    • Installed Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (damn it is hard to find an ISO these days...)
    • Activated Windows (so I did not install any drivers/updates)
    • Grabbed the media creation tool from the microsoft website and upgraded to windows 10
This all went fine I must say. Not one error. Windows installed all the drivers perfectly but doesn't recognize the G210M. It installed a "Microsoft Basis Display Adapter" but the card shut down (code 22). I tried installing the driver from the Asus website, but that didn't work. It resulted in a black screen for over 15 minutes, after which I pressed the power button. Nice try, but no luck.

The only thing missing now is Hybrid Graphics, but for me that's not a great loss. I never liked the way it worked and always used the integrated graphics. It's more then enough for normal operations etc. Windows 10 is not a finished OS in my opinion, but it's smoother than my old windows 7 installation. I think I'll be backup my main drive soon, and go all the way ;)

Nice. I tried this and now the G210M seems to be fully installed and working. Couple of questions:

Everytime I boot I get the following messages:

Do you want to execute the follwing files
    C:\Windows\System32\hkcmd.exe
    C:\Windows\System32\igfxtray.exe
    C;\Windows\System32\igfxpers.exe

    What does this mean?

And which files do you suggest that I use for step 12? Do you have a link for both of them?

Awesome! Glad to hear that it worked! Those three files are associated to the Intel integrated graphics driver. I am not sure why you are being prompted to load them since I am not, but I would allow them to run for sure.

I'm sorry I didn't link to the files in my original post. At the time of writing, ASUS's driver servers were down.

ASUS keeps moving all the files around to new pages so these pages may become out dated with time:

    P4GH: http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=3&m=Power4GearHybrid&os=41

    ATK Package: http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=ATKPackage&p=3&s=813&os=45&hashedid=n/a

I will update the original post with the links now that the server is back.

    You sir, are a genius!

I unchecked the box 'ask my every time blabla'. The files are all related to intel/nvidia graphics, so I think it's fine granting them access.

Thank you! Tried to find the files with google, but that didnt work.

I installed both (first P4GH, rebooted, ATK, rebooted) and it seems to be running great! I even got an 7,5 hours of battery life message when holding the mouse over the battery icon. With only windows 10 installed I never saw higher than 5,5 hours. I don't know if I'll get those readings in real life, but hey it's looking better then before! :)

6:47 hours remaining at the moment haha. Laptop (battery) is 5 years old and performing great! I'll keep using this installation for a while just to make sure it's not running into performance issues. But I'm hopefull!

    Thank you once more!

    EDIT:
Seems to be working pefectly. It's switching everytime I plug the power back in/out.
Checked it with Run - msinfo32. It shows the G210M and the Intel graphics just as it should in every mode.

This is great news. I will install tomorrow. Been chugging along with my ul30vt and tempted to use windows 10. Can you verify that the nvidia driver is working with HDMI output? I use it a lot.

    Dear community,

I have looked up the internet and this forum message came about

we have a much liked acer aspire z5710 all in one, running a great GeForce g210m hybrid graphics.

it is new, and I don't know why GeForce have announced that support for hybrid graphics will be discontinued with windows 10

we cannot update the graphic driver , is there an option or rolling back to windows 7 is the only alternative available, please?
