Naw, or I must have missed that..... but anyhow, it will be great having you as a fellow Stealth Crew Member!

Downgrade from the W90? Perhaps, but we will be seeing 5870's in X-Fire soon enough. In the meantime, I think the G73 will make a great experience with it's new tech...... something to keep us busy for a while. Can't wait!

    :)

Haha Taiwan is the last place you would find the G73! Although Asus is in Taiwan, Taiwan is the last country to get the items.

I know this cuz I am Taiwanese :)

haha, I am from Taiwan as well. As I posted in the main ASUS G73JH thread, ASUS shows no loyalty towards its own country. We get the scraps of lefover models at twice the price (ok, maybe slight exaggeration, but you get the point) from USA. And very few shops in Taiwan are offering customerisation of laptop as well.

Meh not my thing, battery upkeep, more money to spend, shouldnt have to, and most of all I do not have the desk space to put it onfront of the laptop. It would feel awkward too having the laptop further away even if I did.

A already have a bluetooth keyboard though and it fits in my pocket my Nokia N900 :D

Does keyboard/mouse/media control even hooks to the PS3.

Not to the PS3 thats why all the 3rd party stuff has a dongle included... Not sure why they wont share the info with 3rd partys but Microsoft does the same with the 360 so it must be for security is all i can figure...

I agree about having to use the keyboard further away from the machine though and it would feel awkward but i know how you need that full size numpad so it was just a simple solution... Agreed also that you should not need to spend more money.... They stuck with that keyboard because it came with the G72 and i think its the same one from the G51 ? so they probably cut corners there to save some $$$....

I hope this thing can kill BFBC:2 on max settings@1080p. The recommended settings are pretty high though - gtx260 (desktop), quad core cpu, 4gigs of ram..so..mm we'll see.

Is BFBC2 a replacement of Battlefield 2 as far as gameplay mechanics, graphics and everything? I have been burning through new FPS war games like crazy and can't find anything that holds my interest. COD MW2 makes me feel claustrophobic and is way too fast. I tried a bunch of others recently too.

A couple of days ago I remember that I used to play Battlefield 2 a lot and liked it back in the day. I installed it and WOW. I STILL love that game so much. Open ended battles. Fly a heli, jet. Ride a tank, anti-air etc... The only thing is that the interface is super slow and super clunky. Trying to get into a match can be a chore.

If that BFBC2 game is a spiritual successor to BF2 then I can't wait!

I am having trouble deciding if I want to keep the Blu-Ray or downgrade to the DVDRW and save myself $89 through xoticpc.

I don't own any blu-ray disks, viewing blu-ray under Linux while possible currently sucks pretty hard. Not too excited about hooking the HDMI to some sort of external display and booting windows to run the special blu-ray player.

Having the ability to use 50GB optical disks is pretty cool, but it isn't like anything but movies and ps3 games are distributed on blu-ray right now that I am aware of.

    Any thoughts?

Paladin actually comes from the foremost warriors (Knights) of King Charlemagne's court (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paladins)

The paladin's tales were mixed fact and fiction, but they were known for fighting for and protecting the innocent...the underdog.

So, Have Gun Will Travel is taken from those legends. Notice how in the series he is always doing what is "right" for the oppressed, and how he brings down the powerful abuser of the little guy.

I was given that nickname years ago because of work I did in a "paladin" fashion.

So, while the paladin comes from King Charlemagne's court, the 44 comes from Have Gun Will Travel.

Kinda sorta! Scary, isn't it? LOL! Naw, since this is a single GPU solution, that eliminates half the worry right there. At least with guys like Quad & Vic on our side, support will be there, even if Asus is not. I think the only thing in question right now, is the graphics driver, and surely we will work around this, if this becomes an issue. Seriously though, I do not foresee any real problems this go-round. NO FEAR!

Actually the problem was not about having a multi gpu but a gpu that was modified and created to where only asus can make the drivers.
Hopefully this gpu is not modified by asus and can use Ati/Amd original drivers.
I wish they would tell us that on there spec sheet.(Modified or Original gpu ?)

Early on, many of the W90's were plagued with bad 4870 cards, due to bad PCB's, and would not function in X-Fire (production of the cards had to be re-run)..... and though produced by Asus, the cards were still an AMD/ATI design reference spec. As to the drivers, this was not left up to Asus due to "modified GPU's", but more because of contractual agreements, between ATI/AMD and their partner OEM's.

No doubt, these 5870 cards too, will be produced by Asus as well!

    :)

W90 is a great machine, but I find it too big for myself. Very sleek design too.
I'm expecting problems in G73 also, I know it'll not be perfect, but I hope the problem solves quick if there's a major problem like BSoD.

YES, the W90 was big, but it was AWESOME to be at the helm, LOL! The BSOD issue which plagued the G51, has pretty much been resolved, and I do not foresee this being an issue in the G73. Let's not worry for now..... I have a hunch there will be alot of happy folks, when we finally get our hands on these machines.
