hummmm, in normal mode...it doesn't seem to want to go above 65mb on writes. im moving 10 gig files around between drives and through the network. it's definitely faster than my single drive and faster than my raid.

Port Austin. As far north up 53/VanDyke as you can go without ending up in Lake Huron.

    Not entirely true....
Newegg is still the only gig around that sells the X1 model.
They however no longer have the exclusive on W90Vp.
Various resellers can and are selling the A1 model.

Screenshot of "Kuju - Rail Simulator" on the W90Vp-X1 (17% OC)

FPS seems to range from the mid 130's up to over 200 with current settings at 1920x1080 res.

Yeah, thats what I want to know, when will anybody else sell the X1?
Im stuck all the way out in South Korea and desperately want an X1, but its not available in asia or anywhere else and newegg doesn't ship internationally! I was hoping some shops like XoticPC or GenTech would get the X1 and ship it to me in Korea. But...no dice...yet. :(

Also, does anyone know how to calculate import tax on something like this?

Striker, the place i can find them in canada is Supercom, large distributor out of the Toronto area however you need an account to buy from them. Luckily I know someone with an account, however they still didnt specify which model as when i asked them (not expecting them to have any) i just asked for anything and they quoted me 2800 cad. I hope its the x1 however the a1 at that price wouldn't be bad either :D

I see that there is about a 3000p difference in 3dmark 06 between the A1 and the X1 (X1 being the faster) and also quite a difference in Vantage, but is there a big difference in actual gameplay at the moment with like crisis or GTAIV and COD5 world at war?
I havent seen all the benchmarks yet, so sorry if its already been posted.

What would realy interest me though is a encoder / decoder benchmark.

Provatage is a good place, I have got computer parts from there but never a whole system.

Has anybody else noticed that the W90 is going to be the ultimate starcraft 2 machine? that big screen & high resolution, lots of speakers, its going to be nice.

im willing to bet starcraft 2 will make good use of the quad core.

i really wish asus would let other companies sell the X1 instead of just newegg, its like they have a monopoly on it. If I could get a X1 at a good price id really try to ship it to me.

they do have a monopoly on it its neweggs exclusive model. several models have had a newegg only version, though usually the x1 is a best buy model.

so I guess its possible best buy may get it at some point.

doing an hd tune run accurate/8 meg and it keeps error-ing out about 65 percent of the way through the test.
    min 123.2 mb
    max 156.9 mb.
so tomorrow i'll take it back and try one more.

guess your getting a sager... :)

Must say. my A1 arrived yesterday from XOTIC and WOW...just WOW. Justin, good on ya. I spent untill almost 2am tweeking it (hating work right about now), and all I can say is I am impressed. this will do everything I want and then some...

I wiped the HD when it arrived, installed a fresh copy of Ultimate64 I have, then proceeded to install drivers/apps from the driver CD and its running like a charm. Would love to post benchmarks but to be honest I am not a serious gamer and a lot that stuff been seeing here is a alien language to me.

Again, Justin good on ya...this is a fantastic machiene :)

Will definately reccomend XOTIC to friends. :D

Mine arrived a couple hours ago. The thing is a beautiful beast, really nice attention to detail on it.

...and no matter how big you think it is, I pretty much gaurantee it will be bigger in person. I mean, I knew it was going to be large... but god, it is large. :D

Been watching it play this cool little loadbar game for the last couple hours. Can't wait to try out something fun tonight. :D

That would depend upon the program you are running. The X1 will be faster in most games, but the A1 is capable of higher multitasking and will render from most professional design programs faster.

It's too bad MSTS2 has been put on the sidelines :(
I haven't run the origional MSTS in quite some time and just started messing around with Rail Simulator a little while back.

I'm actually more of a Flight Simulator kinda guy, but my grandfather used to work for the Canadian National Railroad... So I've had something of a history in railroading growing up and thus have always had an interest in it :)

Hello folks! I have been reading this humongus thread for the past few days...
Found out about Xotic and the W90VP-A1 today reading this thread....I was on their website doin custom configurations and from what I can determine.... Other than NewEgg's low price, the processor and the single 320 gb harddrive thats included standard on the X1, I don't see any other differance between the X1 and the A1. Where am I wrong here? I also like the option that Xotic offers to let you do a custome build that NewEgg doesn't have....

Got a funny question... When you remove those stickers from the hand rests do they a stickey gummy substance that was nye impossible to clean off? The reason I ask is because when I bought my ancient Compaq Presario it had all those stckers on it like the X1 does and I tell you to this day there is still some of that mess on the handrests.....LOL

The little ATI ones were the only ones that left a residue on mine, the rest peeled clean. The residue wipes away with a bit of rubbing. One of the advantages of a brushed aluminum surface I suppose.

I've been playing this game of what to get X1 or A1 for a month now, so far wasn't able to get my hands on X1. Some say A1 does poorer then X1 in gaming, due to lower mghz processor, but it being quad it does better in programing. So there....

The Q9000 use the Core 2 Duo t7350 core, that's the reason it is pretty slow in single threading (and some dual threading)
Whille T9600 used in X1 are faster for sure in single and dual threading (Some application are still optimized for Duos though, but many coming up later)
If it is cheaper, Still prefer the QX9300 though, looking at the base core (T9400), it is still comparable. BTW, I got the QUAD cpu information from Justin picture of CPU-Z, CMIIW

Still, it is much depend on the user usage on either using Quad or Duo

Exotic is offering the T9800 as an option.....If I bought the A1 this would be my choice for the processor...although it would put me over 3 grand..
