Also while paying cash, if the customer agrees, a "proper" receipt need not be created and as a result the TAX (GST + PST) or only one depending on the province, can be ommitted, thus saving both the customer and the company some money.
Moreover if you buy a laptop for $2000 that's a fair bit of tax. 15% in Ontario
comes out to $300 in taxes alone. Plus if u buy extended warranty, more ram etc etc. there's 15% tax on all that.
So paying in cash does save u a fair bit and the store doesnt need to pay INTERAC (CIRRUS in states) VISA OR MC -

LOL MIT, you don't really havta worry about "how does a Canadian company make more money from selling you something in cash but yet charges 15% tax in Ontario"
