Asus just called me... they said because of a retailer complaint, my order is :( Also, since of all the bad weather that's happening, their Fedex's scuba team can't traverse the bottom of the ocean floor to deliver to me even if they completed my order :(

Booyah! They just called me to say that they don't have the vented CPU cover... ($12 part) They're actually quite nice people... so it's all good :D

hey all! This is my first post, but I've been on notebookreviews for a while now. You guys have been a great source of information, which ultimately led me to purchase the Asus z63a! I absolutely love the machine by the way. What a great leap from the Uniwill 223II0 (Alienware sentia) in terms of build quality and looks. Sorry....I just went on a tangent :( . Anyhoo, I went to the asus e-store and I tried to make a purchase and lo and behold, the item shipped! This will be great if I happen to need any parts for my new Asus in the future (knock on wood). Anyway, just wanted to let it be known that they also included an z63a section as well for those who have this system as well.

Thanks just ordered a bluetooth module for my Z63a and its on delivery. Price is good but the delivery by ground is almost the price of a bluetooth module. I hope the e-store is in Canada or the handling charge across the border custom will make it an expensive purchase. In the end, I might end up with a handling/delivery fees of 3 to 5 x the price of the bluetooth module.

Now I need someone to help how to install it! Anyone with step by step procedures or I should take it to the computer shop to do it?

you have to dismantel the entire laptop to get it it. its about the hardest thing you could have to do to that machine.

Edit: I'd also be interested if anyone has information about how to actually install the bluetooth unit on the Z63a.

Oh, of course. I wouldn't consider screwing with it until the warranty's up, and even then it would depend on the difficulty. I was mostly just curious to hear what the steps actually are.

By the way, is the site secure? I didn't go through the checkout procedure, but I didn't notice the secure icon in my browser when creating a user account, etc.

Yes the final checkout is secure. There is no instruciont to install it i dont think. but it does require to take everything out to the bare case pretty much. its about the hardest thing you could have to work on in yout laptop.

I was mostly just curious as to where and how the BT adapter has to be installed -- is it a card that just plugs in? Is the difficulty in actually installing the card, or just in getting to where it needs to be installed?

By the way, if anyone has any info about what the product I posted above actually is, I'd appreciate it:

The hard part is getting to the plave to plug it in. its under the motherboard. so you have to take every bit of electronics out. Someone who is experienced will think its a pain. Most people on this forum know alot about pcs but the problem is laptops are hard to take apart. there are all different little screws and certain things connect inside that you arent sure how. So while we may have the skill if you have never done it ,it makes it to much of a pain to be be worth it. Im always up for a challenge i know i could do it. But what if i break some small thing inside thats it laptop is screwed.

Yeah, I sent email to the Asus store and they confirmed this for me. I've been meaning to get a second adapter to leave at the office to free up a little space in my bag, but I was wondering why the product number listed is different than the number on proportable or geared2play (I was also hesitant because it's quite a bit cheaper). The Asus rep assured me that it was the correct one, so I ordered last night. By the way, kudos to the Asus inventory rep -- he responded to all of my emails within 2 minutes of me sending them.

bought a wireless card. used standard shipping. took about a week to process and receive the item. The seal on the antistatic bag was open though....not sure what that means? A refurb maybe? Not really complaining, but nice to know where I can get spare parts in the future. =)

They don't sell notebook motherboard :-(. I wanted those so i can experiment on my current one and knowing that if i ever screw it up, i know where to get a new one.

How come the z70 series doesn't have any picture?
Is the case for w3n the same as w3v?

    Got my part.

Unfortunately, it's not the one I ordered. Plus they charged me for an item they didn't ship (the one they called me about). I already sent a message regarding the situation and I hope they'll contact me soon so I we can fix it :(

I must say though, it was very well packed. Lots of those styrofoam popcorn things. Btw, what area code is (714)?

Hefty custom handling/charges from FEDEX to Canada in the past. If its from CA, I wish I did not buy any from eStore ASUS.

Well, I should have e-mailed them where will the item be shipped before I place my order! A lesson learned here.

Well, my brother got the package. He said it was just here at our doorstep.

I've received alot of items internationally and customs duties are a hit and miss situation. Sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't. I'd think on high end priced items, customs would be a hit. Also if you ship using a well-known courier service, they'd charge you duties too.

A little side note for everyone with a w3v wanting to buy the vented covers. They do not have it anymore, I was going to do a little review for GregM on the effects of having vented covers, but now I can't because they ran out of it :(

Good for you. I have never had any luck with FEDEX and UPS with customs handling charges. I had many experiences with FEDEX and UPS, none missed that handling charges. I had 3 times handling charges that were more expensive than the items. USPS is my preferred delivery.

Has Asus resolved the wrong-part issue? I'm curious as to how they handle it. Are they reimbursing you for the shipping, since it was their mistake?

    Hey bootstrap.

I've been emailing the parts guys back and forth for the last few days. They will reimburse me for the part they didn't have. Also, for the other part, they shipped me the HDD cover with no vent. They will not get it in stock anymore so I'm out of luck (they changed the heading to "No Vent" a few days ago). I don't even know what to do with the extra HDD cover.. but I've come up with a few plans. (AuroraS knows about it.. LOL)

Looks really nice, kingcow! ...nice fingerprints in the last pic, by the way :p

I got my extra a/c adapter yesterday, a little less than a week turnaround. The adapter didn't actually come with the power cord, though, just the adapter, even though I specifically asked in my email whether this was the a/c adapter and cord for the Z63a. In any case, no real loss, there are a ton of cords on ebay for a few bucks. They did pack the order very well. In the future I hope they actually put some details and pictures up on the site in addition to just the part numbers.

If you guys want to take advantage of this store( I mean the low prices ), better hurry up, this store is run by Asus service dept and now the sales dept know these way-too-low prices and will let the service dept raise up the prices because these prices are even alot lower than distributors' purchasing cost.

You shouldn't be charged any taxes if your invoice was filled out like mine, it says that the parts are 'Warranty return accessories to customers - not value'. Warranty return items don't get taxed crossing the border.
