I got my laptop back yesterday with the hinge fixed, and apparently the entire LCD cover replaced.

Since someone at one point asked how this process goes, here's how it went in my case. I'm in Hungary.

19 July: I send an RMA notification to ASUS through their website
20 July: ASUS requests reference photos, which I provide
21 July: The RMA is accepted
22 July: I fill another form on ASUS's website to arrange a pickup for the 24th
24 July: The courier calls me and asks if it's ok if he comes on Monday, as he forgot to stop by when he was around
27 July: The courier picks up the computer
30 July: ASUS emails me that they have received the computer and that it will take 2-20 days to fix
30 July: ASUS sends me an SMS that they have received the computer and that it will take two weeks to fix
31 July: The company doing the actual repair for ASUS sends me an email that they have received the computer and that it will take between one and one and a half weeks to fix
4 August: Both ASUS and the repair company email me that the repair has been carried out ("LCD cover replaced. Test OK.")
6 August: The courier brings back my laptop

All in all, even with the courier messing up his route, this went pretty smoothly.

I have i7 4510U IPS non-touch matte screen. I updated to windows 10. All fine for two days. Today MS decided to update the track-pad driver. Now two finger scrolling is only backwards :( . Not possible as before ...

also as I see Windows 10 keep installing some games and twitter app and few others. I choose uninstall and after few hours I see them as recently added .. weird thing and I must investigate where do I choose not to have these apps on my laptop ....

Double click the touchpad icon in the systray. That should open the ASUS Smart Gesture settings. Under the Two Fingers column, check the "Content moves reversely with your finger's direction" box. Apply changes. That should do it.

You will need to install [Intel Dynamic Platform & Thermal Framework Driver].
Do you have any external devices connected to the PC? If yes, then please unplug them to avoid confusion to yourself.

10 and 8.1 share a similar platform. They may work, but there's certainly a chance the 8.1 drivers won't work under 10.

    Yup, that's correct.
Do check the drivers on station-drivers.com but it may be slightly difficult as you may need to find the right chip model in order for some drivers to work.

Exactly. Some drivers are installed from Windows but others one aren't recognized and the old for windows 8.1 aren't good.

Go into BIOS and disable Secure Boot. (You may need to disable UEFI/enable CSM/legacy temporarily, also).

Which OS were you trying to install? If it's Win7 then you will need to enable disable UEFI and CSM as Prostar said.
But if you are installing Win8.x/10, then you don't need to disable the option.
Best to provide more details, or screenshots.

All is ok. It was for a wrong bios setup.
After a fresh installation, i have installed all the drivers correctly but i have two warning in the system peripherals. One is an "unknowed peripherals" and another one is a bus controller. I suppose one can be the card reader.

It's rare - and it may be unlikely here - but it could be a set of RAM that is not on the OEM QVL. Since you can verify the RAM works in another computer, you may need to go with another brand for the 303ln.

Webcam doesn't require drivers since Windows has built-in driver for it.
The last device could be ME device (management engine), but if you can provide the vendor & device ID for that particular device then you can find it on Google, or we can help you to locate the driver.

I installed a Samsung 850 Evo in my ux32ln & it works flawlessly. It's NOT the same controller as the 840 Evo so it doesn't have the same issue. It's state of the art & my laptop just flies with it. Mind u, I have two 840 Evos in my desktop, and since the latest bios all issues have been fixed. Samsung was committed to fixing it. :)

It's not the same NAND which is the biggest difference. It uses stacked layers of larger cells that are more durable.

Hey Guys, if you are experiencing consistent BSOD when booting up. You have incompatible RAM installed. Seems like this laptop is picky about the ram timing or something. I had to replace mine. it's not a hardware fault with the RAM. You can run memtest 10 times and not find any memory errors. It's kind of a quirky issue.
